I made up a emergency kit using the Stanley Cook Kit to keep in my vehicle. Using a Condor H20 pouch. Starting at the bottom of the of the pouch there is a Oilcamp Stainless Steel Space Saver Cup. Then the Stanley Adventure Cook Camp System which fits ( sits ) inside the cup. The tapered sides of the Stanley Camp Cook kit fits inside the cup like it was made for it. Along the outside of the Stanley is a long handled Titanium spoon. Inside the Stanley is the Gen2 Folding Firebox Nano Ultralight Backpacking 3" Stove. On top of the Stanley is a Trangia Alcohol burner so I can cook with either alcohol or wood. The outside pocket of the Condor has a plastic ( Flask shaped ) 8 oz bottle which has the Denatured Alcohol for the Trangia. Next to it is a fero rod for lighting the burner or starting a fire. Folded next to the fero rod is a bandana which can be used if the handles of either pot gets to hot for a bare hand to touch. A few months later I added two canteen pouches one on each side of the Condor H20 pouch along with a updated wide strap for carrying. One pouch has a Nalgene canteen in it and the other pouch has a couple dehydrated meals. Thanks to using a wood fire the Stanley has a nice blacken bottom and sides which I think helps it to heat up quicker.
I like it! Perfect for a 5C survival kit! Container, side pocket for cordage, side pocket for an additional cutting tool (like a folding saw and small knife) front pocket for combustion, and you can strap a poncho or tarp to the bottom for your cover element. I'll be getting one for sure.
I have one and love it. Great piece of kit. The only weak point is the non-padded shoulder sling. I could feel it after hiking a moderate distance with light clothing. I substituted a padded shoulder sling from Kifaru and it works great. The 2nd gen tool roll is real nice too.
Great looking kit! Kind of expensive but interesting. For my money I'll probably stick with a Maxpedition or Self Reliance Outfitters bottle bags and steel water bottles, but that looks like it would carry a bit better.
I saw Alan Kay reviewed this bag as well. I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I looked at using a maxpedition canteen carrier (m5 I think), plus a shoulder strap and pad. By the time you're done piecing everything together you may save a little cash, but you don't have nearly the same amount of storage or versatility (as far as I can see...).
Yeah, you're one of the two guys that talked me into getting this system; you and the Bearded Burton. Well, thank you, because I love it! I also added every accessory to it that Centerline Systems offered: the Gear Roll, the Saw-Blade Holster, the extra long shoulder-strap with additional padding, plus a Maxpedition Janus Pack & Bushcraft Black fixed blade knife. One "slight" problem now, though . . . it's kind of heavy. :-(
Beautiful well designed kit by a US Company. I actually went to look at getting one. I just can't see paying $100 for this. I agree its an awesome piece of kit but I just can't pay that much for it. Great review though on a great bag. They just need to bring the price down. Thank you for showing it to us. All the best, Dawn
Great minds think alike I bought the original Pathfinder water bottle Molle pouch and then he came out with the larger one and I got one of those and I hooked them together and it got pretty much the same kit. Use the larger one for shelter and tools. have all 10 C's and then some in there
Love the look of this kit. I have many regrets about having paid for The Uncharted Supply Company’s Seventy2. Too big; Doesn’t fit my iphone plus in the hip pocket, like advertised; some of the gear is cheaply made... This canteen kit looks the ideal size to be carried regularly.
I love this system! I have the HC canteen and cup but haven't pulled the trigger on this bag yet. I really want to make something similar in leather. we shall see... Great video!
I agreed. . $100 way to much !! I took simple military canteen cover for $15 in surplus store, sowed on pockets and strips , and I get the same system for about $20-25 including original cost of canteen cover + about 2 hours of work. !!
Thats a very nice jacket you are wearing. I have the same one and a few other pieces of clothing that came with it. Could you tell me where you got it. I would like to buy more of it, if it is available?
I got mine and the other pieces, about 7 years ago. They do not make any of the system anymore. i just hoped you might have a source. Thank you for the quick reply. great video and review. That jacket was issued with 2 different liners and a insulated pair of pants all made by Patagonia, if the inner tag is still in side. There was no other Patagonia labeling on any of that clothing. I am looking for a outer layer like the jacket but in the form pants. Not sure it exists, but would like it if it does. Your jacket looks much better then mine, it is gear i would not part with.
Nice product and review. I just got a maxpedition sabercat that I'm gonna build a minimalist kit with and one of these days I'm gonna talk myself into buying a heavy cover canteen kit lol.
Nice video. I love my Heavy Cover canteen kit. I'll definitely consider carrier. Do you prefer the plastic top on your canteen over the titanium one? If so, why?
I ordered mine last week and it should be here in a day or two. It looks like it was made for the Heavy Cover canteen kit which I already own, now I must carefully figure out what to carry in it.
I’d like to know the price of the complete kit. A total I’m betting to be in the 300 to 400 hundred dollar range? The bags a 100 the canteen cup and lid another 100 the tarp and a few other items I’d bet would put it up to or pas t the 300 point. I did t watch the entire video and missed other interior items.
Thanks for the video, Just can't justify $100 for a canteen cover.. I'd drop $$$$ on great kit, but it's a canteen cover with some pouches... I bet you would be using it in a year from now... put $100 on the shelf...
i was in an surplus store the other day, voodoo tactical it looks like tried to make their own "mother." being that it was a surplus store i grabbed a canteen and tried to fit it. wasn't the best but it was almost a complete knock off.
Why is everyone so hung up on the cost? Put it on your Christmas list and have Santa get it for you. I know, I'm making about as much sense as those people saying sell it for $49.95.
As a former 0311 USMC, Im dumbfounded watching ppl carrying heavy gears full loads with weight of a damn fridge lol. I’ve done plenty humping in my life to know that if you are hiking, always do it as light as possible. Only take gears you need and trash and peel every little crap you don’t need down to plastic wrappings to lighten your loads. Minimal is the way to go minus water and dried food or MRE. I went from using Alice pack which I love to taking what you need like on this video. I haven’t ditched Alice pack but if I’m going for a short hiking, it stays and just stuff only things I need like this n a gun.
Bic disposable lighters are typically the cheapest on the market. They are made mostly of plastic, filled with butane fuel (holding an average of 4.9 grams), and offered in a variety of colors and designs
I really like this, however I could buy a nice day pack. Just way to much for me. Rather put the money out for the Heavy Cover Canteen Kit and put out $15-20 for a nice cover that I can modify. This should be no more than $50.
They're not made in bulk, and you can have custom orders. The labor adds to the cost. I've got a Multicam set up and it's good gear to intentionally limit yourself to a few items you can't carry in your pockets like a head lamp, snack bar, power bank, or something.
I've honestly been avoiding watching this video because I new right off that I would want this entire kit for the new belt kit I've been building in my mind. but I also new it was gonna cost me. May as well get it ordered at this point and stop putting it off.
More like 110.00 if Mexican lucky. Perhaps on top of 150.00 for a HC/Keith? (yes I just got a HC Ti thang) What's the point? One still has to undo something to take a drink, yet the cap is still exposed to dirt bugs 'n elements sans a hooded flap. So I missed the part of a stove, or wire grill parts? ya said boil water no? ~ eep! looky those pouches not properly covered looking like a lip of some poor soul who had a stroke..should be draws on the pouches for such price, or more than a lean two flap. meh ~ go walk trails. ima not picking on this old vid, nor you PW, but I've now seen so many vids of canteen kit bags loaded as some bugout bag survival thang. I opted the the helikon essential kitbag. But I won't over think a six hour bag/canteen holder loaded with toys. Whistle and no compass?..flare gun in a canteen/lures tackle box, lets do that?...24 hrs, stove should fit in or it clip to no? Ferro rod goes where? Why not get tough to the ounces weight with a real rescue carabiner? (guess iyam picking on ya a bit, but do sass me back. I don't know chit tbh) No saw. even though nun speak of use/carry 15" geared loppers light as frozen fingers spun off a road. What do you wear on your "on hips" belt? No using pants loops, you may drown. Fancy dan flashlight? One only needs 13-17 lumens. Dunno of LED's so low these days. Thanks for the close ups/stuffed use PW. I wanted to like/justify the Mother. I'll see how I do with my Helikon Es/HC as "gone fishin' " clip on canteen to an old gifted LLBean back pack does. ~ some pull a rope, some wrap half at hips and walk. I should have delivered milk via rickshaw 'n kilt it.
$110? That’s crazy. I appreciate American made and good materials but this ridiculous. I have a gas mask carrier from my time in the marines. They can be found everywhere for 30 or less same amount of functionality and if you want you can make some upgrades and put you in the 50 dollar range.
Cost just doesn't justify buying it, the canteen is totally outrageous and laughable, the carrier is okay but it still leaves the mouthpiece for a canteen exposed to Mud,dust, or other germ carrying elements I understand new system is perfect but for the price you're paying I see a lot of improvements that could be made
$100? Just the bag, nothing comes with nothing else. Way too much for this bag. Looks like a Maxpedition Fatboy without the top flap, That cost $69. Don't know why these companies want to get rich so quickly. They would sell more for less a price. I would like to get one but not at that price. There are similar bag for less than half. Great review though thanks

+Chuck Littleton well thought out

Wish it came in army green. I could use it for my emergency bag for hurricanes season.
+Chris Burley exactly. Plus the M5 won't fit a canteen cup easily
Ha! Guess how I learned that lesson...
Nice little signal mirror where did you get it
Yeah, you're one of the two guys that talked me into getting this system; you and the Bearded Burton. Four times around the block. git. train to add a fun tent.
I am a newb..
No stove?
Lots of good ideas.👍
I am building my system for Adventure Motorcycling.
I like the Canteen cup/stove theory.
👍👍

SouthPaw Bushcraft yeah and that did not include the $155 canteen, cup and lid combo. Just the bag, ouch.
@Sparrow Flying you lower the price you lower the quality.
@@CanadienWoodsman really???Don't agree with your statement they can keep it just like it is and reduce the price...simple has that!
It's really impressive. I will put it on my To Buy list.
Great minds think alike I bought the original Pathfinder water bottle Molle pouch and then he came out with the larger one and I got one of those and I hooked them together and it got pretty much the same kit. Use the larger one for shelter and tools. have all 10 C's and then some in there

Great video - what signaling mirror is that?
Thanks very much for the information about these products. They look like good products that will last a long time.
Awesome pack
That is my favorite one.
been subbed to ye for a few months, really liking your videos, brother!
Thanks for watching!
The Prepared Wanderer u
I love this system! I have the HC canteen and cup but haven't pulled the trigger on this bag yet. I really want to make something similar in leather. we shall see... Great video!
That would be so cool in leather.
The Prepared Wanderer coming soon! lol
Have you made the leather version yet?
Very cool piece of kit. Where do you carry the food you are going to cook with it?
Looks like some great gear. Thanks!
Great Presentation. Thank You !
That is a great piece of kit. Thanks for sharing
Thankyou.
What cooker do you use or do use open fire?
Rgda
I agreed. . $100 way to much !! I took simple military canteen cover for $15 in surplus store, sowed on pockets and strips , and I get the same system for about $20-25 including original cost of canteen cover + about 2 hours of work. !!
A esbit titanium folding pocket stove Will be great in this set
Can i use other canteens for it cause i dont have this one and can you give me a tip for a good cheap one
Thats a very nice jacket you are wearing. I have the same one and a few other pieces of clothing that came with it. Could you tell me where you got it. I would like to buy more of it, if it is available?
+David Brown I bought mine second hand. Don't think they make them anymore.
I got mine and the other pieces, about 7 years ago. They do not make any of the system anymore. i just hoped you might have a source. Thank you for the quick reply. great video and review. Suggestion- inside color change to bright color so we can see. Also, it seems difficult to get the canteen kit out. Slight increase in size.
that's a sweet canteen holder from Kansas City
Great set up!
Great walk-through the item.
do you know if the Pathfinder canteen will fit
I am not sure. If its the same dimensions as a US military canteen then yes.
The Prepared Wanderer it's a little bigger. but thanks. nice bag
Great review video !
However, is it any less expensive now ?
Hello Mate, fantastic vid. Can you let me me know if this kit I one of the best you have used. Take care. Craig.🇮🇲
It is for sure.
The Prepared Wanderer hope you had a good thanksgiving. Christmas on it way. Grits getting cold over here on the Isle of Man. Take care.
I meant to say it's getting cold. Craig.🇮🇲
Nice video. What's the price point on this product?

+PrimoStoker enjoy!
How much does that weigh? It's a fairly narrow, unpadded strap.
great setup!
Nice video- from valleyreb
Sweet Kit Great Review how about the GI Canteen Stove .
It would fit I think. Thanks for watching!
Super kit!
A hundred bucks is a lot of money to pay for that as cool as it is
Will the Pathfinder Canteen Cook Kit fit the Mother Carrier?
Looks like a useful item. Thanks for the review.
Nice kit. Thanks
Hershel Cyphers .
What is a tool role
Nice kit
Nice!
Your vids are cool!!
Esbit makes a flat stove that could fit where ur lid is
Great kit, I suspect most who are "reviewing" this are not paying $100+ great kit at a $50 price point. Thanks for the review.
Tom Kirkbride I paid full retail for mine.
Thanks for the video, Just can't justify $100 for a canteen cover.. I'd drop $$$$ on great kit, but it's a canteen cover with some pouches... I bet you would be using it in a year from now... put $100 on the shelf...

I don’t think those cheap lighters are butane. That’s just regular zippo style fluid. Butane is for the kinda “jet torch” lighters
Bic disposable lighters are typically the cheapest on the market. They are made mostly of plastic, filled with butane fuel (holding an average of 4.9 grams), and offered in a variety of colors and designs
I like the Helikon-Tex Canteen kit bag more and they have a top quality and it's cheap
Good review sir...this is a great product.
Yes sir it is. Thanks
Great video. I have been wanting one of these for a while !! Hopefully soon, I can get one.
+Skills2Survive thanks buddy
If it had a place to fit my Firebox Stove it would be the end all of cooking systems.
+DRN agreed
They have a poor website. Difficult to navigate through and I cant find a cost of the product or how to order one🤔
I really like this, however I could buy a nice day pack. Just way to much for me. Rather put the money out for the Heavy Cover Canteen Kit and put out $15-20 for a nice cover that I can modify. This should be no more than $50.

buy 2 and put them on your battle belt like an LBE

Oh, if only i could afford Heavy Cover....
Good video
I didn't see a stove system
that kit must have cost a pretty penny
I got one for my birthday just the carrier itself is 100 dollars
oh yeah I am buying 2 the whole dang set up canteen and all, who freaking ra.....
It looks nice but who really gets caught in the woods at night without intending to? Just another piece of "tactical" candy.
Famous last words, i bet the 2000 people that get lost every year thought the same thing, along with the 130 that die in the woods each year.
Let me know if you wanna sell this canteen
Rather expensive at $250 for the Mother and Heavy Cover! Not for the budget minded!
very nice..but $100.00...yikes.
Good design should bring the price of a item down, Not up.
Agreed.
More like 110.00 if Mexican lucky. Perhaps on top of 150.00 for a HC/Keith? (yes I just got a HC Ti thang)

Eberything is protected except the place you put your mouth to. Fails my test therefore.
