No need to be sad, if you didn't finish their quests... summoning them at least doubles his health, which is absolutely insane. Fighting him alone with ashes is the way to go, much more manageable.

What about the scythe you get for summoning them I can't get UT now
I finally beat him . He feels like the others impossible at first and then you learn the moves and get a little lucky 😂

So Thiollier’s AI is just busted for me. He just stands still and does fucking nothing, won’t even enter the boss room.

Sounds like there’s some bugs that need to be ironed out with this dlc
From my own experience, I would discreetly say that the summons, especially both at the same time, definitely don't make the boss any easier...
Imho Radahn becomes the hardes Souls Boss ever made in this particular scenario (first kill perspective).

Thiollier won't even enter the arena unless he gets hit through the wall, also in phase 2 he just stands near the entrance.

They have to nerf him on ng+7, when doing theolliers questline and ansbachs my man has roughly 150k+ hp while one shotting you with every move, your npcs will die before reaching second phase and now you're stuck with the most AOE fight in the game

This DLC only scales at level 150+ I beat it on NG+7 with level 15 scadutree blessing... with just a mimic summon. Want me to send you the video drop your PSN and I'll show you how to beat him.

Anyone know what to do if you summoned them, beat Radahn, and their neither of them gave you their gear? Resting/reloading the area did nothing.
Ok so from steps 10 onwards I didn’t know because i didn’t know about any of it and now I’m at the final boss and I can only summon Ansbach is there still hope for me to get the other summon or no?
Beat him before doing ansbach stuff am i locked out of the Obsidian Lamina weapon now?
So if we kill the last boss before we finish Ansbach’s questline, he just disappears until NG+?
I burn the tree before I finished the quest and it still works for me

@@global_playz9522 yes I started the dialogue on my first encounter with each. I burned the tree, then went back and finished the quest line and they were there for the fight the last two fights.
when i choose the option assist sir anbach, then after defeating needle knight leda, i won't be able to go back to my world as the game freezes their, i can't fast travel can't use seperation mist, i just stuck their with sir anbach........... Same with the other choice, i can't complete this quest line i am stuck here please someone help me
i reached radhan then found out i couldve summoned.. my dmg is so low im at lvl 162 still forsy playthrough tho

I dont know if using celestial dew in the church of vows messes with DLC but it's prob your best bet

So talk to hornsent then talk to leda again and then go to black keep and kill messmer and go back talk to leda a few times reload and thats how I fixed it hope it helps

I like to think Ansbach and Thiollier achieved their last wish in the battle against Miquella and Radahn, thanks to us.
Ansbach was loyal to Mohg, and after seeing how he changed because of Miquella he left but he was not strong enough to throw the emblem of his chest. Thanks to us he realizes Miquella controlled Mohg and used him to use his corpse to bring back Radahn, a lack of respect for who was his lord. He does not even hate us for killing him, he just want his lord rest and have a respectful end, not being a puppet. Wich is what he manage to do in death with our help, resting in peace knowing we will kill Radahn and Miquella and will become Elden Lord.
Thiollier was a follower of Saint Trina, but he was not the chosen one to listen to Trina, that one was us, something that angers Thiollier and make him try to kill us. When we tell the truth to Thiollier about Saint Trina's wish, he does not believe us because of his anger. But after some time, he realizes he was a fool for being selfish, he is a follower of Saint Trina, it does not matter if he cannot hear the wish, he will do it for his master. In the end, he dies helping us in the fight Miquella and Radahn, knowing we will defeat them and fullfill the wish of Santa Trina. And finally having the eternal sleep he was looking for.
Weapons from them aren’t useless :( I’m gonna have to come back on a normal playthrough for the stuff because FUCK summoning them 😭
For anyone out there really struggling on this boss and can’t get the summons, I figured out a build that made him pretty easy to beat once I got it tuned up. I’ll put it as a reply IF you want to give it a try, but good luck to all regardless!
Apparently we’ve all been lacking in our daily thoughts about the Roman empires cause they were onto something. A great shield with a spear kinda trivialized this boss. My character was around 170 ish, and you’ll want around 60 vigor and endurance, and probably a fair chuck of strength, mine was at 60 but I’m sure you can do less. The rest of my stuff was mostly just at minimum faith, dex and intelligence levels to wield the right stuff. I’d recommend the rotten crystal spear and the black steel great shield for its high holy damage negation. I’d max both out both for the dmg and for the guard boost being really helpful with stamina. The 2 required talismans are the great shield, and the pear shield. The other 2 I ran were the viridian amber medallion (I only had +1) for more stamina, and the crimson seed for better flasks. Equip armor that keeps you as a medium roll and prioritizes either faith resistance or maybe magic. Buffing is optional, being that I never re applied buffs for the second phase and I was still able to manage my stamina enough to not get bodied, but if you want to run some spells, the only ones I applied at the start were scholars shield, flame grant strength, and magic fortification since I do not have a lot of FP. All you really have to dodge are magical attacks and second phase grab, beyond that you just have to manage your stamina and occasionally heal the faith chip dmg. you can attack while blocking with the shield, and scarlet rot will proc once each stage. I would save the mixed flask to second phase and I used the healing over time, and the one that heals spell damage taken and would pop it immediately. if you want to implement another DOT, maybe bring a bleed spear? I had started messing with it a bit, but had not actually implemented it before beating him key thing for second phase is to try shield spear attack once or twice early in his attack combos so you don’t get pushed into his faith stuff too much and as long as you just keep blocking and manage your stamina well, you’ll get him. Some might think it’s a bit cheesy, but I was just surprised that such a simple build just kinda destroys this boss. I didn’t expect much and just was messing with my build on a whim, and it worked way too good and was way to easy once I figured it. it will be a pretty long fight tho, especially since some dmg windows you’ll have to skip to get your stamina back up and you do still have to get good at stamina management, otherwise he may stagger you at a bad time and one shot you, but I was surprised how a non one shot bs build could just negate 90% of what he’s does so well. Try it out if you want, and if you do lmk how it went, over the course of starting to think about the build and actually tweaking it and leveling up weapons, all of that and beating the boss only took me an afternoon, and a lot of that time was just testing proof of concept, and leveling up the equipment:)
update, I had not fought malenia yet on this run so I tried it on her too. swapped the spear for one with fire and bleed and it did wonders on her too, got her in a few hours

When I tried to talk to Knight Leda it only says suggest the horn sent

Can I not summon them in the boss with Radahn and still get their stuff?
You can beat the boss on your own - you just need their summon signs to be present outside the fog gate. After you rest at the boss’ grace, their corpses will appear on the ground with their gear to loot.

Don't worry if you couldn't get the summons. They make the boss harder by buffing his hp and dying or not drawing any aggro. Was only able to beat it after I stopped summoning them.

Generally he is way to difficult on a higher ng+ his first phase is fine all the moves difficult but manageable just annoying getting obliterating trying to summon my mimic everytime but the second phase some of those moves are fucking bs if you aren't in a good position or don't have a almost full stamina bar you just get insta killed.
Do not summon them for the final battle - they do not pull their weight. Just make sure their summon signs appear before the boss door. After you rest at the boss grace, their items will spawn on the ground in the arena.
Why can I summon only one at a time

Even after buring the tree, before killing Leda, you still have chance to finish the Thiollier questline! Just do not kill Leda!
So if I already burned the tree before doing any of this I can’t get help?
You can't, they questline fails if you burn the tree

The game rewards you for being attentive to questlines and punishes you for ignoring them. It's as simple as that.
The ungodly amount of hp this boss has with both summoned is ridiculous

Dont fucking worry, you won't be able to use them anyway, they are fucking standing outside the boss area and wont enter, so you basically will just double the boss health for no reason
