Nile and Victor are checking out the 2024 Ford Escape ST-Line Elite, a top-level trim available in Canada for this compact consumer crossover. Most options are selected on this trim including the panoramic sunroof, 19" black aluminium rims, trailer hitch, Premium Technology package, and more. Total MSRP is $52,649.00 CAD. You could add on the 2.5L hybrid engine for an extra $4,500 to bring that price up even more. Our test vehicle comes with the 2.0L EcoBoost 4 cylinder turbo engine which produces 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque.
We go over the exterior and interior design and features on this 2024 Ford Escape, then hit the road to talk about all the things potential buyers would want to know if they were in the market for this vehicle. We discuss the performance of the EcoBoost engine, along with fuel efficiency, ride, handling, comfort, and more.

The seats look really comfortable
They weren't bad, but nothing noteworthy.
What a car.... Nice design, good handling
Its just pricey for what you get compared with the competition.
@@PRNTestDrive What competition? Name an suv as powerful with similar cargo and leg room than this at a cheaper price.............................................. Best you got is CX-5, not Edge ST, not Blazer RS, not Mach-E, not Hornet (RT+ in USA is well over $52k compared to $43k for Escape. Hornet RT+ 0-60 is roughly the same as Escape ST Line Elite) You can't compare the ST Line Elite to Hornet GT trim levels are completely different....etc. And don't say base model XT4 or Nautilus or RDX or some low trim without features.
@invictusf5790 Rav4 and CrV and Cx5 are all more for fully loaded. Prolly 2 to 7K more
I can't speak for your local prices but here in my home state you can get this vehicle for normal price around $34,000 and in my experience it's a great package, handles great, and I haven't experienced any freezing of the infotainment system like you guys did in the video.
Fair enough! Same trim even? Ford may have some heavy incentives on this to help sell it, but we also find that the USA has better deals than we get up here.
@@PRNTestDrive Yes this exact trim, I'm sure you can find some better deals but overall I have no regrets.
It’s worth noting the Platinum has a softer ride than the ST line Escape.
Good to know, we haven't driven one in that trim yet.
is there a sports mode/manually change gears?
Attractive ❤🎉
Glad you like it, thanks!
Wow, here in the U.K. the top spec version…has heated seats front and back.
I always find it weird when a 'domestic' brand offers better features for their export markets. Oh well, the Escape is still overpriced even if they added heated seats.
It's a cute li'l thing, and they actually bothered to paint it in...a colour! I like that shade of red. Driving a hybrid was great here in Hawai'i; getting over 50MPG was easy. Never could drive it on the long highways and byways of North America; that must be nice.. I like how quiet-riding today's cars are; it sounds as though hearing the stereo is easier a task than back in my day.
I personally prefer hybrids in general, they're great for most applications. This regular ICE engine was good for the highways out here and doing my daily chores. I definitely agree that vehicles are much quieter today than they were even 10 years ago.
can't get a st line in phev. the escape PHEV got his own version
hello, how are the full led headlights on night? I'm coming from a focus with matrix LED and for me this static LED would be a downgrade.. :(
They performed pretty well for us, didn't necessarily stand out as better than any other LED lights we've tested in the segment though.
The price is what helf me back from buying one. The platinum should come standard with the panaromic sunroof.
Considering everything else in the segment is more affordable I'm surprised Ford sells these, they must have incentives at the dealer-level to get buyers interested.
@@PRNTestDrive I'm gonna buy one soon LOL, I like the looks of it and the way it drives and the 2.0L turbo.
i think you’d be better off in a well equipped acura or lexus tbh, depends on whichever you prefer
Pretty much, I think Ford has priced this way out of it's league. I suppose it makes it easier to sound like customers are getting a deal if they end up offering incentives. It seems like a Bronco Sport has up to $4,250 in incentives on it as of this comment.
My feeling is that if you do mostly highway driving adding a hybrid likely doesn't add much for fuel economy
Agreed. They're great in the city/town. I remember when we featured the Ford Explorer Hybrid which was a $5,000 upgrade we calculated that you'd need to drive that vehicle to 300,000 km to offset the added cost. I'm sure this would be similar.
How to open gas tank
I believe there's a button on the dashboard to unlock it.
My daughter drives a 2013 Escape Titanium with the 2.0L turbo. Great engine, no problems at all. I presume this motir is a derivative of that engine.
Could be! We'll see what the long-term reliability is on this one, but Ford seems to have been using it 2015.
Closely related to the 2.3l EB (MPC) in the 2024 mustang and now has an aluminum valve cover and different intake design.
That's alotta money for a toaster
I still can't wrap my head around it. I wonder what sales are like.
Funny that the only place you can get it with heated seats in North America is Guadeloupe and Martinique and a few other European islands.
Is that for the rear seats?
