    The Bronco Heritage Sport is more than 20 inches longer than the 1970 Bronco. It has more horsepower than the 6 cylinder original base Bronco, and only a little less than the optional V8 Bronco from back then. So the Bronco Sport, in fact, is much closer to the original Bronco than the Ford Bronco. It reflects how accustomed Americans have become to the relentless size inflation of trucks and SUVs to think this is a "small" vehicle.

      Then we should also say the new Toyota Camry is a muscle car because it makes more power than a v8 mustang from 30 years ago! Cars and trucks evolve, but the goals are what remain more constant. The Bronco Sport is not a closer successor to the OG Bronco just because a couple of specifications are closer. It is a unibody, fixed roof, front drive based AWD, people hauler whereas the Standard Bronco can remove the roof, has proper 4wd, and a more identical body style (with a 2 door option). Yes, it's been scaled up in size, but so has almost everything over the last 50 years. We have always compared with what's relative so if I call the Bronco Sport, "small," it's because it's 10 inches shorter in length than a new Subaru Forester and competes as a Compact Crossover!

    Nice to see you getting some other car brands. I think it’s important for the channel’s growth.
    Nice job as always. The innuendo is 👊

    I think the comparison to the first gen Ford Escape is *exactly* why I want one of these. Forget the "bronco" badge. This is a unibody, mild offroad, slightly underpowered econo-box SUV with good height and decent capabilities. It *IS* the new first-gen Escape, and thats why they're a good buy. However I expect the standard Ford Motor Company rules apply: do not opt for the smaller engine. The EcoBoost already has 99 problems; might as well get one that has decent horsepower and stands a chance of lasting 200k miles without being constantly overstressed.

    Thank You for going through the time to list what comes with the other trims. So many other reviewers act like all Bronco Sports are in Badlands trim.

    I had one as a loaner for couple weeks, and it was great. Fit and finish is better than my US made, and the size is very useful for a Cuv. I think Ford should offer it in a manual transmission, or at least add pedals to the steering column.

    • @Realistick

      If they offered it with a manual and the 2.0l, I'd probably buy it for the channel, that would be an awesome spec!

    The Bronco Sport Badlands has pillaged "offroad CUV" crown from the recently deceased Cherokee.
    Definitely one step up from a Wilderness Subaru if you're looking for that.

    1:39 the first and second generation Escape were the best ones, IMO. No other generation can match the durability and reliability of those two.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  6 місяців тому +2

      I do think those had the best approach to a small suv out of the Escape’s lineage. The Bronco sport has some of that boxy, pragmatic goodness too. Though I can’t personally attest to the old escape’s abilities or quality🥴I’ll take your word for it

    I have a 23 Maverick 2.0 AWD. The sticker was $29k. Yes it does not have the upgraded AWD system of the Bronco Sport, but I think the Maverick with the 2.0 is a WAY better value than the Bronco Sports. I cannot believe what they get for the Bronco Sports. They look cool, but I'd rather have a CX-9 or a RAV-4.

    I’m super confused how this is labelled as a 2024 review and yet you’re driving a 2022…???

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  5 місяців тому

      Good question, as I explained in the video, all details and pricing are for the 2024, the car itself is unchanged. After getting press cars for a year, I noticed other big outlets labelling 2023 cars as 2024 (even though we drove the same exact cars). The reasoning is that it would be pointless to tell everyone about trims/numbers from two years ago. That said, I wouldn't make the video if the car received any sort of refresh.

    When Ford started building the old Escort, it was aimed to compete with the Japanese imports. The Escorts were super reliable.
    So since Ford has proven itself to produce very reliable vehicles, then why don’t they do it with all of their vehicles?
    Are they trying to fail?
    In the mid 90s, Toyota donated 50, V6, 5spd manual transmission Camry’s to the CHP in California to try to persuade California to start buying Camry’s for use on their CHP vehicles .
    If they would have been an American built vehicle, CA would have bought them.
    The Crown Vic was super reliable, but now Ford, GM are just building Junk.

    • @Realistick
      @Realistick  6 місяців тому +3

      I agree, my 90s mustang might look rough, but I really trust that car more than I should. It does seem like they invest more into certain models and all of the other's don't receive the same degree of quality. If they can curb the electrical issues (some of which apply to the powertrains), and quality control, I think they could change their reputation. Some of their engines are pretty good and the Bronco-line has more character/attention to detail than any chevy suv imo.

    The Forester and Rav are a much better option.

      @@Doc1855 We just got a used 2020 Premium Outback. It's shit in comparison to my 6MT. I feel no connection to the road, like I'm on a snowmobile on feet of fluffy snow. The entirity of the 3500lb machine being paired through a rubber band CVT is lifeless and appliance-like. My Forester feels like a steamroller in comparison. I FEEL an ACTUAL connection to the road, as if the car is mechanically linked through axles and gears to my foot and butt....because....well....it is.
