33:45 "White's almost up a... mate." These kids are slowly turning into Finegolds.

“What is the only think Wilhelm Steinitz and I have in common? I visited his grave.” Incorrect! You both had a world champion at your wedding.

36:37 I can't believe he doesn't comment on the names - first off it's Adolf against Adolf, and then the surname of the white player means Black (Schwartz), and the black player's name means White (Albin). I've never been so mad!

Houdini and jackie robbinson are buried there too. My high school was next to it, going through the cemetery to not get robbed was my go to tactic
Edit: lasker is buried there too

The Walter tevis book the queens gambit was the basis for the Netflix series the queens gambit many years after it was written. I actually read the queens gambit book and saw the series (I can read). Walter tevis also wrote the hustler which was made into the movie with Paul Neumann and Jackie Gleason. I saw the hustler but never read the book

Yeah, the Albin Countergambit is actually a pretty good weapon on club level. If White doesn't know what they're doing, Black gets strong initiative, and even if White knows what they're doing, it's not the kind of position your average Queen's Gambit player likes to deal with.

And the ice berg was also named Adolf The Iceberg.
