@@LXPlore I looked at these photos of the dust covers and it didn't seem to have an opening for the wires. Are the pictures just not showing the thru holes that in the oem are sealed?
@@mark-dd2oq I purchased the LasFit covers. They didn’t have holes in them, so you have to drill a hole in them and seal them with silicon. I have another video where I modify the dust cap.
How are they holding up? I just found your channel and have been binge watching your videos and subscribed for more... assuming you still have the LX470 and are still doing videos on it. 😊
Thanks for watching the videos. I’m holding up just fine, we’ll see come Sept 28. As for the LX470, I still have her and I plan on more 100 series content in the future. Thanks again and wish me luck.
Nice Video! Don't suppose you have an Amazon link for the set you used? I ordered some Hikari ones off Amazon and the base was to wide and short to fit in to the housing.
Agree. When I searched it brings back two results when I specify 'low beam' and the description in both says 'Bulb Size: H1 Light Mode: Single Beam Usage: Fog Light'. So looks like wrong bulb for low beam.
Ok I have an 2003 LX470 I plan to do the same LED lighting and dust cap. Also I have a 2000 F250 I plan to do LED. I see in the background a super duty. Have you done LEDs on that?
Hey Richard, thanks for watching the video. I have a 2002 Superduty with halogens.... I really need to try and replace them with LEDs. Hmmmm I need to get some and do a review. Lol
Have you tried to replace the high beam bulb? Especially the driver side. I tried but found no way to get it done without removing the whole headlight assembly.
Question: I'm looking into these and I'm wondering about the high beams. The high beams run at 50% as daytime running lights so can the LED's be used in those locations. I'm seriously considering these, from my current HID set up on my lows and fogs. I also wonder how the brightness would compare to the HID.
The Big Empty _ So I’ve only heard of people disconnecting the day time running lights, so they can utilize a high beam LED. Not sure if it would even work as a day time running light. LasFit should have a bulb that’ll fit.
Hi down in the OC with an LX as well. Did a 35w HID setup and the new lights lit upmthe squirrel finder's. Had to pop the headlights and plug those pesky squirrel finders. How do you like the LEDs?

Question. I did the upgrade with low profile LED lamps and was able to use the OEM dust caps. Is there any risk in having the wires exposed to heat put out by the LED lamps? They have built in fans. I'm thinking I may rewire the OEM connections to connect outside of the dust cap to minimized any risk. I'd appreciate any thoughts or experience that others have had with respect to this potential issue.
Thanks for watching the video. No I think you’ll be fine. I replaced the caps with oversized dust caps from Lasfit to accommodate the larger fan. I haven’t had any problems with the wires or the lights.

LXPlore Yeah that would be cool and I would like to see someone do halos on these headlights rather than buying some cheap chinese headlights that tend to yellow quickly over time. So it would awesome to possibly put a halo ring inside of the low beam lens.
@@LXPlore I know this is old, but my main concern with having HIDs, is the way I had to wire things, if I have an outage, I can't just do a temp. bulb replacement from a local auto parts store. My wiring is proprietary to the HID set up. So, if I'm on a road trip and a bulb goes out, I'm screwed until I can make a proper replacement.

HID is better for projector headlights like this lexus and for the fitment. LED is better for standard reflecter housing headlights.
