However, you should always do swatch tests to see if you have an allergic reaction especially if you have sensitive skin.

Steph! Some red/pink dyes that are used in cosmetics have to have that ‘do not use on the immediate eye area’ or similar disclaimer in the US just because those dyes can slightly stain your eyes. They shouldn’t really cause any other issues if it’s just the dye. But some big glitters used in makeup aren’t eye safe bc they can technically be used near the eyes but they recommend not getting them too close because they’re too big and scratchy and can cause problems if they get in your eyes

the eye-shadow thing isn't the whole story tho... some of the eye-shadows are actually pressed pigments and many brands just put the info in their fine print because TECHNICALLY it's "not safe" for the eye area according to the FDA. FDA are pretty strict about these stuff and the reasoning can vary; it could be considered not safe because of possible allergic reactions for some people. even if the pressed pigments just cause staining, they are also considered not safe.
