This is a great format. I find it allows for you to really gather your thoughts while explaining, which benefits us the viewer. It was really impressive to watch you both play. It was also impressive to see Marcos intensity on each shot. Please continue with this kind of video. It would be interesting to hear what you think you need to work on to get back on tour and how you might plan to accomplish that.
I'm a big fan of Marcos. I was at Indian Wells 2 years ago when he had his big break through. Really enjoyed watching them this year and looking forward to even better results this next year
Hi! This is the type of format that I look for most on youtube about tennis. And you don't have to be hitting an ATP player. You already play very well and your training partners should have a similar level. If you put your workouts on for me it's something I have to thank you for. Thank you very much for this video!
Your down the line backhand is a killer shot. I can see you do make a number of errors on it at match speed but when you execute it, man it's just sweet. With that short backswing you disguise it pretty well, it looks flat but skids a bit too. Your best shot!
Great video, you never give up trying to improve by the way, I'm 56 and still trying to get better, age does'nt matter. Walking down stairs the morning after a three setter is when you really notice it though!
You are completely awesome. I have been following online tennis channels and playing almost every 2 days for 3-4 yrs now. Son played at high school and stopped. This video and explanations are so crystal clear about how the pros play , technique plus point play. I hope some of the young kids practising on tennis courts watch this and speed up their learning. Bravo..
This is some really gold quality content man, i always appreciate them a lot! thanks for everything and keep it up with the good work! cheers from Italy
yes, definitely do more of this stuff. favorite vid so far. are you trying to go pro at some point? heard you say you haven't given up on improving, so I was just curious.
I was top 400 for a while, had a little injury and last two years lower level tennis suffered with the transition tour in 2019 and pandemic this year. Once things are back to normal I'll be back
Excellent video! Thanks for the inside view to what professional players do in practice. This is very inspirational and your insights helped me to make needed tweaks to my ground strokes as I aspire to increase my level of play. Thanks much!
Parabéns pelo canal, Karue! Mutio legal esse tipo de conteúdo que vc vem trazendo. There’s so much bad content out there for tennis. It’s a breath of fresh air to see your channel hit so consistently. Your channel is my first pick anytime you have a video on something I’m looking for. Appreciate you!
How do you guys keep that intensity and focus. Jesus Christ the power coming out of both of you is insane. How come you're not still on the tour bro? You're definitely good enough. And yeah I really like this format. Keep it up
Hahah thank you! I think we don’t even think about it anymore, we just kinda flow. It is second nature at this point hahah and financially it is really hard to stay on tour, became a struggle to keep going
Great games… Marcus is so explosive wow such an athlete. His service return is so consistent too maybe cuz of experience from returning ATP serves all the time. Nicely done video
This is badass! More of this, please! Also, great for you as well. Keep your game sharp and continue to play with the best players in the world. You never know when you will be called again to do what you are meant to be doing and you might be competing against these players on the tour someday!
great to watch, I've only just started playing and your videos are my favourite. Only comment to maybe add to this format, seeing as you're editing, would be to add the score somewhere on screen?
Dude, this was great! I really like the insight from what you were saying when you were practicing with Marcos. I have been trying to find something like this to show to my students as group practices and tournaments have stopped due to the pandemic. It’s just private lessons and them hitting with each other when they can. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼💪🏼
You've got a solid backhand! Most people don't know the key (or one the most important things) to a great backhand is loading up with a big, full shoulder turn like you do. Looks great. All the best.
Karue, I enjoy ALL of your videos and instruction, but this video was exceptional! I really enjoyed you walking us through the warm-up, drills and point play. The narration really helps with understanding how and why certain shots were made or lost. Great hitting by you and Marcos!
Very useful tips. Hope to get close to this level myself with practices structured like this. Thank you for the inspiration and good luck when you start competing again 💪
Great Format Find your videos really instructive. They make me think about the game more and lets face it.... once you reach a standard of proficiency that allows you to do that, then and only then does the game open itself to you and become wonderful. brilliant mate....
Loved the live commentary. Really useful to see it in live time. What was that exploding noise I kept hearing when the ball left yours or Marcos racket? The pace of the ball and the court coverage at your level is so amazing. And to see it up close on your GoPro is pretty sweet.
I've seen Marcos down here at Newport Beach for futures the last couple of years. Strong grinder. You guys hit so clean. Fun to watch. Your game is strong, too! Just shows you how close yet so far top pros are above the rest. Keep up the great channel.
This is great! I love when you do analysis of shot selection and explain why certain shots were bad or good for opening up the court or allowing yourself to recover, more of that would be great thank you!
Very insightful video. I was wondering when you're returning serve against a top 100 player do you focus on playing the ball cross-court most of the time or do you try to place your return so that it lands on your opponent's weaker side? Thanks again for making this video!!
You hit the two hander pretty well. For my generation, the two handers we're usually medium height ( Connors& Borg).Obviously, the Joker changed that. It' s interesting to see a taller player hit it as well as you do
I think ‘mini tennis’ is very important. Very similar to when I played baseball and we would warm up very close and eventually take steps backwards until we were throwing and playing catch from far. Great way to warmup, work on accuracy, and great way to prevent muscle injuries.
Hi Karue...I learned so much starting with thought of lengthening swing and varying shots during mini tennis cuz I just concentrate on not framing the ball...lol...thanks for TW link as I'm gonna buy to help you in a small way...thank you for content.
Love the format. Learned a lot. Want to ask if you modify your rackets. If so how and why. And as you may try different weight or SW what are you working towards or responding to.
This a great video concept- excellent court level footage too. Good luck to you sir I'm sure this channel will be growing heaps if you keep uploading this kind of stuff. Vamos
So much to love about this video - thank you! Two comments (one question): 1. forehand shot where you scolded yourself for not moving your feet - I played back to see clearly and sure enough the feet were stagnant (great for us amateurs to see its unacceptable!); 2. when either of you hit on the rise (especially your unreturnable RoSs) the ball just gets redirected so profoundly quick - instant offense. What % of groundies do you think you attempt on the rise - better ask, do you seek to do as much as possible or is it high risk (very advanced) tennis? I'm high 4.0 and dont think we do often enough ...
I am used to playing on the rise. I do not generate easy power so I like to take my opponent’s time away. That being said, it typically depends on the shot before the one I take early. If i hit a good ball I expect the next one to be shorter. If it is, I will go get it but if not I will stay neutral until I have another chance
I find being left handed any cross court rallies in matches don’t last that long because my forehand cross court goes to my opponents backhand and vice versa. I’ll be sure to experiment more in warm ups with my strokes to get a feel for my opponent and my own shots.
Dude! You can PLAY! I like to see that, it gives you a little more cred when you give us advice knowing it comes from someone who can play the game at a high level. I'm sure you have been asked this many times before, but... How come you don't compete still? It sure looks like you have the game for it! Signed: A Fan, Montreal
This is amazing, awesome format. Just something fun I noticed, while watching this video and the futures final vs Eubanks. Karue misses: Oh my God, how do you miss that shot? Karue hits a winner: VAI! It seems like celebrating in portuguese feels better! Keep it up man, channel is growing rapidly, as it should, amazing content.
His preparedness is so early. And his footwork he's so light on the court it looks so effortless and yet so difficult.
Very good footwork
Marcos footwork is just impeccable.
Maybe he can win couple grandsoam
hey, look who also plays tennis! Hi from a fellow dev!
Compared to people who do not play tennis for a living, yeah; compared to other ATP players, very average.
Definitely - Don't bother mimicking, because we ain't even close to their level
I liked the format. Also, it would be insightful if you could comment on why “it wasn’t the right shot”. It’s not always obvious for us mere mortals.
Hahah will do!
Giron's backhand is crazy clean. He had a good run post-covid when the tour returned. Especially during the indoor stretch.
Yes he did
With a serve that big, it's almost a free game in indoors
@@lucahoffmann7259 What changes from outdoors? with the serve
