Thanks for the video mate, great advice about managing what your 8 is doing, always helps if he know what he's doing too of course! But with some 'polite persuasion' and 'gentle nudging' like you explain that's going to free up the channels for making the pass that much easier, something I hadn't been utilising at all really. Will be sure to apply these tips at training and thanks again!
I'm playing 9 for the first time this afternoon. Definitely bricking it. This video has given me a lot of insight to the scrum. Hopefully I'll be able to use it.
That was choice as! I gained two-fold from this video: communication w/ 8 & 10 with or without a strong scrum and building on safe scrummaging when it twists! Great insight to building confidence in our front row schoolboy rugby at junior level. Thank you heaps my Bro for helping me improve as a coach with this content!
Thanks to giving this knowledge how to manage the scrum passing , now i know where i was lacking , this is raman from India nd i played no 9 for my delhi hurricanes team thanks you
Is the number 8 allowed to flick the ball? Will we not be penalized for hands in the scrum? And thanks for the tips,I'm moving to the number 9 position and I needed this
Thanks for your message. Yes the 8 can flick the ball. He is picking up the ball to play it and wont be penalised. As soon as the ball is at the 8s feet he can pick it up and play or flick it. All the best at moving to no 9. I'm really sorry also about not making a video or answering your last question. I'm not a qualified dietician but if I was wanting to put weight on I would be having an omelette with 2 egg and extra egg whites and spinach tomatoes and peppers for breakfast or oatmeak with berries and honey with dairy free milk. Lunch would look like chicken breast wrap with loads of salads. Or eggs if I had oats earlier. Dinner steak and sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots, or served with wholegrain brown rice pasta quinoa, baked potatoes. Sock eye salmon and haddock. Lentils chickpeas...like in a curry. Minimising processed foods. Eating dates bananas for snacks. With these types of foods i wouldn't be limiting portion sizes if I was wanting to gain. Getting in good workouts is important for gaining muscle. If you are moving to 9 it would be good to bulk up not massively but focusing on core workouts to help with ABCs ability balance and coordianation. Pilates helped me a lot. I hope all that helps.
im a 9 and my best attribute of my game is passing, but it is instinct to pass every time i snipe even if it is not the right decision, any tips to help me make the right decisoin under pressure because i dont use my eyes enough.
Hi Will. Thanks for your message. Number 1 you have to ask yourself why are you sniping. What are you trying to do. No one else knows about it, not even your team mates. So when you snipe, try to keep the ball alive. Back yourself when you make that snipe. Keep hold of the ball and run to the spaces. Even if you get tackled a few times, these scenarios will help you get better and help you make better decisions. Maybe when you have had your line break and kept the ball, turn your head to look to see if there is someone to pass to. If you dont see anyone, attack the space and go forward. Keeping the ball alive. The best thing is, is to fail. There are so many times I sniped and chipped the ball and thought why did I do that. But I learnt from it and kept going. I hope that helps.
