I just actually fixed one of these recently. It was an old playboy lighter. Same problem. Concreted flint. Takes some practice to get a good technique to get everything reassembled. I was in luck that the lighter was actually new like condition and never used. So after I finished the tube clearance I was off and running. I used some of your videos as a guide so you helped me out. Next time at the flea market I'll be on the look out for these. Usually they are plenty to choose from. Probably all with the same problem. That flint tube really seems to be the problem alot of the time. Thanks nice video.

Bro, after finding your videos and getting stuck watching them, might I recommend instead of using alcohol, go to the auto parts store and get a bottle of sea foam, either the spray or the liquid, that stuff will keep your lighters clean with either a few quick shots or a nice long soak, with just a wipe down afterwards. It’ll clean all the carbon off and out of your lighters, I clean my zippos this way.

I don’t think it would take the graphics off a flat lighter, but I’d test it on a throw away first.

Hello! Just found today a Brother lite but a gas one, a leaky gas one 😅 I'm on the disassembly/cleaning and I'm really surprised to found fluffy cotton inside the gas tank 😮
Just same like in petrol lighters...I don't know if it's normal or if I should remove this, I mean I don't know if that's the way they build it at time or if someone though it was a petrol lighter and feed the tank with cotton...if someone can help me 🙏
    It's really strange...
Oh and please excuse my not so good english translation 😅

I'd like to replace the wick, wading, and flint on my lighter. I'm not able to pull the wick up. Someone indicated that Ronson Redskin or Firebronze flints might spark better in this lighter.
