Thank You Steve! Man I bet DTW was more fun back in those days. Delta likes to gobble up HUB cities & fill em full of regional cheap labor. It's a shame. CVG got it bad too
Matt. Man you’re lucky to be on a 757! Especially when you flew to Detroit. I took a similar delta flight but it was on a McDonnell Douglas 88. Ceiling was low and the pressure inside felt uncomfortable! A 757 is much better than an MD-88.
Absolutely Bry Guy! I'll never straight abandon this. Summer was my UA-cam off-season. Official Explanation & Guarantee follows: Summer Hibernation: I simply can't tolerate the oppressive heat on those parking decks anymore. So I've been biding my time, waiting impatiently for cooler temps. Got a new camera & I'm raring to go so you'll notice a return to normal broadcasting very soon
Thanks, for the great videos Matt! I'm new to this but have always loved watching aircraft. If you can would you mind giving more explanation on how to tell the differences between the make and models of the planes. Thanks
Thanks David! Return to Normalcy is near. Heres the legal disclaimer my legal dept released: Summer Hibernation: I simply can't tolerate the oppressive heat on those parking decks anymore. So I've been biding my time, waiting impatiently for cooler temps. Got a new camera & I'm raring to go so you'll notice a return to normal broadcasting very soon
Hey Matt I'm pretty close to Dobbins on occasion I'll see P8s and KC-135s, also there is a Delta Tristar stored on the base. I believe it is the one that had the pressure bulkhead failure.
Great to see you Matty, it's been awhile since you've been on. Love how you captured the factories and power plants, you should take stills of all the cloud cover and imagery you caught, I bet that would look so cool. Metro Wayne huh? Just stay away from Detroit at all costs, it's like a bunch of people took a dump in one toilet and didn't flush. Metro Wayne airport though is pretty nice, I've never actually been there though, I've always chose to steer away from America's toilet bowl, even if that meant not getting to see their airport. Great video and good to see you again, things were getting lonely without you. It was also nice to meet Ed Bastard as well
Thanks David! Trust me you have a spike in activity comin very soon. A return to normal really. Plus new camera. This is the official explanation for my absence & promise of future videotapes & picture shows: Summer Hibernation: I simply can't tolerate the oppressive heat on those parking decks anymore. So I've been biding my time, waiting impatiently for cooler temps. Got a new camera & I'm raring to go so you'll notice a return to normal broadcasting very soon

Some of the A330-323s (the older ones without engine spikes) have gotten the Delta belly now too. N804, 808, 809, 810, 818NW, and possibly some that I haven't seen.
OHHHH I really really like Knowledge Hole. I want to play with that one. Is that popular youth slang or did you come up with it? Cuz I don't wanna unknowingly adopt youth slang.
Thanks Lee! I'm coming back w/a bang! My official press release reads as follows: Summer Hibernation: I simply can't tolerate the oppressive heat on those parking decks anymore. No Kris, not dumb. Airport city codes are dumb: Lets take the "D" & "T" in "Detroit", add Wayne's "W". . . . . . oh yeah, that has a ring to it. Stamp it! DTW!

Thanks buddy. Summer is too hot for spotting this year. Or perhaps I, in my 37th year, can't take it. Whereas 36yr old Matt Cochran ran amuck. I'm aging. Rapidly!!! Cooler temps = lotsa new shit
You shut up Brian! Cuz I've aged to the point I can no longer tolerate 100+ degree temps at Hart-Maynard. At age 34, 35 & 36 I could take it. Imagine my surprise when my 37yr old body said, "No sir."
+Matt Cochran I completely understand. You make great videos, they help me get through the every day bs of life. You have to take care of you first is what I've found out.
Yeah, I know. The British press got ahold of an ex-girlfriend & she dragged my name through the mud. We sued, and won of course. Defamation. But rumors still linger
Doesn't everyone call the 757-300 a Giraffe? I thought that was industry standard. Like "breast enhancements" for the long upper deck 747-400 freighter conversions or "bigfoot" for the 777. Let us now sing the "Tri-holer" song....
Ahhh you finally flew the giraffe!! Great video as always Matt, and welcome back :)
My first time. Poppin my cherry. Busting my hymen. . . sorry. Its too easy
I flew into (and out of) Wayne County International many times back when it was a Northwest Airlines hub. Nice video...Thanks Matt.

Fabioooo! Yes sir, the new season & new era are about to kick off
Very nice video! Gotta love those giraffies!
Thanks man! as a fort lauderdalian you know how fun them giraffes are
Yes, they are very fun! Ironically, I have only been on 2 of them and it was pre-mods, so they only had overhead tv's!
how nice to see and hear you. hot summer here. cooler now. thankyou for your hard work matt
Thanks evan! The HEAT! I honestly haven't been outside for 2mths. So now that temps are cooling down I can finally get back out there!
Missed these Matt, thanks for posting! Hope you enjoyed DTW-Great terminal except for those pesky dots all over the windows...
Yeah dude! I'm glad you mentioned those window dots! I hate that kinda crap. I think RDU has something similar
YES!! Matt is back... I love to hear that Giraffe ROAR!
Oh and congrats on that 5k. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic vid! Glad to see you back!
Thanks Gino!
Awesome Matt...up in kinda my neck of the woods...Delta North as we call it in Minnesota
Yesssss you weren't dead... Welcome back to the tube Matt
Thanks Gor. I'm finally waking up from hibernation when heat became intolerable. Add 10 degrees on those parking decks too!
Was wondering if you were ever coming back! Nice roar on that giraffe!

Thanks, for the great videos Matt! I'm new to this but have always loved watching aircraft. If you can would you mind giving more explanation on how to tell the differences between the make and models of the planes. Thanks
Wonderful, going to sit back and relax and watch this while enjoying a country club malt liquor
Git yer Rocket Fuel Jolt Liquor ready. Put it in yer freezer for 1 hour. Then return here
Welcome back Matt. I miss your awesome videos. I hope you will be doing more videos in the near future!

Understandable with the awful heat. I have been there many times in the oppressive heat with high humidity. Looking forward to your next videos.

Yummy yummy another Matt video to devour into my knowledge hole
OHHHH I really really like Knowledge Hole. I want to play with that one. Is that popular youth slang or did you come up with it? Cuz I don't wanna unknowingly adopt youth slang.

Awww thanks Kelly! Just sitting out summer heat. The new season will bring my new season! Thank God Autumn is almost here
we're flying Fargo-Mpls-Orlando 17 Sep. DL 717 and 737-900!! Will wave to you passing over ATL!!
I think you're having too much fun on your flight Matt haha.
I really get intoxicated by flight. I am at my most happiest. I tried to get my wife to make me even more happy up there but got shot down
Nice Video you are awesome Matt
Thanks!
You're welcome
Great video. Did you not film your flight back from JFK?
there are not many airlines flying the 300 which is a shame, such a beautiful plane
You are absolutely right, thank you sir! Its weird how super stretched 757s & 767s (-400s) didn't catch on more
Good job Matt
Thank you Mario!
you re welcome i like your vídeos matt
Nice video man
Gracias Cyril!
Why were you in DTW and will there be any plane spotting
My in-laws are up there. Wife's dad. She grew up there. Unfortunately no spotting. Didn't look very exciting out there
DTW is my home. It has okay spotting.. just depends on the time.
did you see the British in the hanger??
No I didn't! There were Brits in there?
+Matt Cochran ya I saw a British tail in the hanger
I like your video very much
Thanks Lori!
F*ck yes a new video
Get me out of the summer heat so I can make more videos!
I like your video.
Thanks lori!
I'm dumb, I thought he was going to Dallas
No Kris, not dumb. Airport city codes are dumb:
Lets take the "D" & "T" in "Detroit", add Wayne's "W". . . . . . oh yeah, that has a ring to it. Stamp it! DTW!
Lol
being seated around you and not knowing what youre doing theyd be like "what the hell is he doing back there"
Dude totally. It's really funny to notice people who noticed an exclamation of mine but can't find the source
where you been missed you.
Summer Hibernation: I simply can't tolerate the oppressive heat on those parking decks anymore. So I've been biding my time, waiting impatiently for cooler temps. Got a new camera & I'm raring to go so you'll notice a return to normal broadcasting very soon
its been a hot one
we missed you.
Thanks buddy. Summer is too hot for spotting this year. Or perhaps I, in my 37th year, can't take it. Whereas 36yr old Matt Cochran ran amuck. I'm aging. Rapidly!!! Cooler temps = lotsa new shit
Why did you not purchase wifi flight radar 24 so you could see what airline was flying over you
Oh I have it. I've purchased every conceivable app for flight & weather possible. Prolly wasn't looking at the time
I love your videos but i would hate to sit next to you on a flight
You would receive an off-camera advisory. I wouldn't just start shouting. Ideally my wife acts as a buffer
There was talk about putting you on a milk carton.
I heard you do not like flying...
Yeah, I know. The British press got ahold of an ex-girlfriend & she dragged my name through the mud. We sued, and won of course. Defamation. But rumors still linger
I hope they make this guy take his shoes off before he boards.
"Diversity celebration" I can't breathe!!!!!!
So silly isn't it?

I think some folks use "Giraffe" for the A346. I suspect they're European but can't confirm it
A346 is the only Airbus I like. Still hate flying by computer joystick, but the airframe is magnificent!
Cheers matt
R I P to Joe Sutter
Thanks Ian
Ah yes the long wheelstanda
Yea those 57's love a good smokey start, probably why you had a strong jet fuel smell
Yes sir! I remember that happening when I was a f/a. Jet fuel fumes are like laughing gas to me
