I feel like the first Avatar movie is getting waaay too much hate nowadays, it had so many cool designs. Not only the mechas but the nature and the creatures are pretty dope, I'm excited for the McFarlane figures.
The world and lore was cool but the movie was boring lol
The movie is definitely full of cheesy dialogue and exposition, but those choices weren't accidents. I do hope the sequels have more original stories, but the first movie is cool as hell.
Disdain... No one has enough effort to even care about the trash tech demo dances with wolves in space
Still an awful movie imo, but the RDA designs were fantastic. Can't wait for wave 2, if there is a wave 2 bc these are only figures for the first movie. Idk if mcfarlane does more than 1 wave for a movie line
I mean YEAH the story was just dances with wolves with blue cat people but I think the visuals and world had a lot of potential. I played the xbox 360 avatar game and while that wasn't GREAT it had a bunch of lore info that really fleshed out the world a bit more and was pretty interesting.
I was absolutely obsessed with the amp suit when the first avatar came out. That final fight with quaritch was so cool. I'm probably gonna end up picking this one up soon. Mcfarlane toys have such great detail!!!
I don't understand why this movie would get that much hate. Only the concept of humans attacking the aliens and not the other way around (which is the usual) is original enough. Pandora's design is beautiful and it's a precious concept overall. I loved the figure but I agree, rusty look isn't on point here
Cheesy dialogue and broad character archetypes are fair criticisms, but the movie rocks tbh.
Because it was just dances with wolves in space
@@fillerbunnyninjashark271 okay and? Other movies have simple plots and obvious archetypes such as top gun. It’s fine.
@@parkeranimations3671 that's different than being the literal plot from another movie
Honestly I'm really impressed with this figure. Hope to get it someday. Great review as always dude !
Thanks buddy
This thing is pretty cool I just don’t know what I would do with it
Getting 90’s exo-squad vibes from this. Star Wars vintage collection will scale nicely with this. But Todd’s current Avatar Jake Sully will look wicked fighting this along with the 4” Marines he’s making.
Exo Squad rocks, can't wait to pit this mech against a banshee
Hes making 4 inch marines??
It's almost like that seat might size up closely with those 3inch Page Punchers I wonder.🤔 It's a cool mech
Just tried it, he looks a little small but it works! I'll post it later
3.5 inch GI Joes fit perfectly in these!
Good review, I preordered this one just so my JoyToy figures has something to drive
JoyToy makes some REALLY cool stuff
Great review! Awesome mech! I've got to reallocate my budget. Todd's tossing monkey wrenches into my plans.
I'm passing on some Multiverse stuff for this line, can't pass up mechs and mounts
Only 40$ too. Nice
I removed the legs and pelvis from a 6” Joe. Fits great that way.
My JoyToy 1/18 scale figures especially the Mechanics and Technicians fit in the cockpit very very well. I have both the #11 and #18 AMP Mechs.
Les Targét was poppin' today.
WONDERFUL MOVIE: 10/10. PERFECT TOYS. PRE-ORDERED MINE'S!!!
Those shoulder joints are stressing me out lol, Despite that it seems cool and great for 1/18 collectors
Been checking out these Avatar reviews and I'm really digging them! Just wanted to say that Jake and Neytiri are actually to scale with this mech because in the movie the Navi are huge. Technically everything (not including the mini sets) is closest to 1/18 scale 😁
You are absolutely correct, this whole line is 1/18. Making the 9 foot Navi in the 7 inch scale (which is normally default human scale for McFarlane) makes for some convoluted descriptions when talking about these figures.
I can’t remember if you said anything but is there gonna be a issue two of drop shadow
Eventually, for sure
My first thought is would ML Modok's face fit in the cockpit?
You could also maybe just use an upper torso of a figure?
Wow straight away Signing up, I am Welcomed to your Beautiful Intro Sound, straight from Memories Spider-Man CARNAGE SNES/GENESIS 😂😊❤🎉
Articulation sold me!
Personally i would put a non human fig like some generic fish man so it wont look wonky with the 7inch scale stuff
Great review as always! Thanks and keep it up
Is literally within scale of each other
You’ve got to give this suit the BeforeMobeast makeover/pimp my ride
Yeah we gotta pimp this thing out for sure
on top of the shoulder there should be a place for the amo belt to slot into im pretty sure cuz thats in the movie
Josh welcome back! And congrats on the new place.
Thank you!
Metal GEAR?!
Snake snake SSSSSSNNNNAAAAKKKKKEEEEEEE!!
You’re talking about Metal Gear
Second floor basement?!
Mcfarlane should make figures from the matrix movies
COOL!! I'm going to black-out the cockpit and use it as a Dreadnought for my Warhammer line!!
I am more interested in these figures than I am in the actual movie. 😅
Fair take! And I wouldn't really *need* Avatar figs for my collection if Todd wasn't putting them out
t's possible that Hyya Toys' Rococop fits into that robotic cockpit. It would be great if Muprhy's version piloted that mecha.
Great review. Btw I think you can insert the ammo belt on his top right shoulder and then plug it at the back
You're right! I totally missed it. That rocks, thanks for the tip
I like this mech , it fits in well with joytoy stuff at a fraction of the cost lol. I can dig the scale with these..last super large figure I had was striker eureka from neca...I could never get it to stand and it fell snd broke my glass table lol
LETSS GOOO
I’m surprised no one has made the actual Riddler Mech from Arkham Knight
That would be so rad
Picked this up today on sale. Impressive Mech figure and I haven't even seen any Avatar movies
Today Friday 10Th February 2023 Amazon UK were selling the AMP suit for £19.99. I have just ordered one.
WOW, this will scale nicely with the 3A Matrix suite I got a couple years ago.
Great review Josh might have to get one or two of these for gi joe classified
Great idea
Excellent review! I've got one on order that I'm going to repaint and add Star Wars Imperial logos decals too!
Good idea, and it would work for Black Series or TVC depending on how you want to use it
The bullets plug into a spot in the back
Thanks Josh your videos are always helpful sorry I haven't caught a livestream in a while
whoo hoo reviews are back!!!
Match it with a starship trooper warrior bug figure and let them fight! 😁👌
I really need Todd to do Starship Troopers
I'll get two of these if I can. These are much better than the ones from 2009. I will gladly replace my old ones with these new and improved versions. They will work great with 1/18 military figures and vehicles.
At the moment, Amazon is selling this suit for $10 off so I decided to pick it up. I just rewatched Avatar to prep for the new movie and I forgot how awesome the AMP suits were. Probably won't get the little figure that goes with this since it's a bit much for it's size, but my buddy just got me a joyoty warhammer krieg figure that might be small enough to fit.
Is that single release is same size of the 2 pack with col
How do modern (4") GIJoes scale with it?
☑️ SUBSCRIBED!!! 🤩🤩🤩 YUP got 4 of these bad boys, and three mini AMP suits as well. 🎯
Awesome
Good they gave some gi joes a mech suit lol
Looks good to me 😎
Yoo! This looks dope AF. Imagine this VS the NECA ED-209 😄
Edit : I recently got this figure, and Im curious, is it by default that its left arm was tied with a cable tie inside the box??
I missed you man !
Ditto! Thanks Ian
Can you try some Joes, Star Wars or Joytoy. Please....
hey, i’m from the future. i’ve already watched the video, it’s a good review. 🤌
I think my only REAL complaint with the amp suit is i wish there was a swivel where the upper forearm connects with the ratchet joint that moved the arm up and down.. seems strange for them to have one at the elbow but not at the top of the forearm.
Good review 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Casey
I have half a mind to buy this and put Zuko from Legend of Aang in the cockpit.
I’ve never been a fan of the movie but this thing is really dope
what is the figure with the head of a pumpkin that is in front of the hush?
That’s a custom ua-cam.com/video/rRzTDnmFZ48/v-deo.html
PLS RESPOND do you think that a 4” action figure would fit inside well?
I take it back he literally said 4” figure
Great review Josh 👍
Thanks Angelo
@@JoshFromBefore No problem Josh 👍
is this toy somewhat durable? I understand McFarlane is more in the collectible business rather than “toys” but I’m looking at buying a few of these avatar figures for my little brother. He’s 10 so he won’t be super rough with it but he does act out battles and stuff
It’s sturdy but some of the joints need to be handled with some finesse when posing
I'm displaying mine with a Marvel Legends Rocky Raccoon inside
I've seen a few guys cut off a marvel legends/gi joe classified figure at the waist (or there was recently a Marvel BAF with a guy who was just a torso) and that seems to work pretty well in the cockpit.
I've seen a few reviewers sing the praise of this figure. I don't see it. It's so underpainted, that it looks cheap. It actually looks incredibly close to the 10-year-old version that came out from that other company.
The Mattel version has way less details though. I think that it is smaller too.
Something about this looks very flimsy and cheap. I don’t know…
Needs more paint for sure
