  • In this video I demonstrate a method you can use when fusing the Wissmach Luminescent glass on a texture mold. The mold I’m using in the video is the DT37 Day of the Dead texture mold by Creative Paradise Inc.

This worked beautifully with the thin paper, and using your firing schedule. Best results yet. I'm very grateful. Thanks 🙏🙏

    Hi
Loving this as I have a the smaller greenman mould, I’m a newbie and a bit confused with the last stage of the programme you posted can you explain 100/hr to 600 I know I have to convert F into Centigrade as I’m in uk normally my last temperature would be down to 40C. Hoping you understand and can help thanks

Thank you so much! That is my last segment, I program it to shut off at 600. Then I wait until room temp to open the kiln. If they’re tiny pieces like pendants I’ll open around 100 or so. Hope that helps!

The one you made with the red roses…how did you get the different colors?

Hi Twylah, are you talking about the one over in the Getting more from your molds video? It’s the thumbnail image on that video. If so, that one is a short video and near the end at the 4:35 mark you can see the setup on that one before firing. For that I didn’t put paper down, rather I filled the mold cavities with frit, then placed my two layers on top of it (dusting of clear powder between) and fused. It’s the round Peony texture mold by CPI. If that’s not the one please let me know as I don’t think I have one with red flowers in this video (but maybe I need to fully watch again!)

Thanks Jackie.... what is the powder you use and why put it between the glass?? Thanks

Kay Currier hi there - I always sift a layer of clear powder (same COE as sheet glass) between layers as it helps eliminate mumps/bumps and bubbles.

Mary Sherwood it’s in the video, at about the 13 minute mark, but always remember all kilns are different! Thank you for checking out the video!
