Time does go fast am I correct in assuming you are heading into CBRN next week? Thank you so much I appreciate it and hope your training goes successfully and smoothly.
@@samuelOvenden Yeah I won't sugar coat it the worst is CBRN its uncomfortable but it's only a week an a bit so its not bad. Least its a bit colder now when I did it, it was roasting hot with all that gear on ain't fun. Once you get onto rifles it starts getting fun and interesting. Are you on Campion intake?
I have just started my Douglas intake we are a week in and the amount of lads here who know about you and watched you Jake is nuts you generally have inspired and helped the next generation of air recruits. We all thank you 🙏
@@jinjey205 ah good old Douglas we were known as the worst intake at Halton 😄 (I’m pretty sure they say it to everyone) I’m glad to see many people helped as that is my only goal. You probably have the same CPL’s as I did when I went through Douglas. You are welcome and thank you and the others there as well for giving me a reason to keep going also🙏. Good luck and remember basic will end at some point so stick through it you won’t regret it. Keep us updated with how you get on.
@@JakeGchannelI will thank you, day 9 now getting cracking. Progress inspection tommorow so it should be good I would say what cpls I have but I don’t think I’ll be allowed too. You will have to pm me I’m ingested to find out if we did have.
@@jinjey205 I’m not to sure if I can PM you on UA-cam but I’m sure if you ask one of the corporals they would say yes or no as they eventually found out I made UA-cam content 😄. Thing to keep in mind about progress inspection is they will be harsh, you might be lucky and get a chilled one but not likely, remember to dust the skirting board around your bed space, make sure the socks are not damp on your inspection bed, make sure you say your rank, last name, service number and what trade you’re going into clearly as well as making sure your drill is on point. Let us know how it goes 🙂
congratulations jake. i really appreciate your videos i passed my DAA for the role i applied for and i’ve got my selection interview in a week from now thanks to your videos helping me to be less nervous about the process as you give a raw insight. again good luck on the new chapter
@@yana.1561 thank you 🙂 oh nice work, just remember to go over mock interviews (preferably with some one) as much as possible it will help massively. Good luck with your interview keep us updated with how it goes and thanks.
Congratulations mate, I was married for 10 years but ended badly in the last 10months. Not what I wanted but she did, always communicate with each other. On the plus side im going into RAF myself.
@@Isa-wz5qm damn I’m sorry to hear that must be hard and I hope you can pull through this really difficult time. Well you never know it might set you on the path where someone will be on the same one but I hope you get in, keep us updated with how your application goes.
@@JakeGchannel muchly appreciated mate, gotta turn a negative into a positive I say. I've just had my final interview due to role change so I should be in within 1 to 2 months my AFCO states
@@JakeGchannel I'm feeling quite confident apart from the electrical component part, but I'm revising on it so I'm feeling more confident🤞🤞🤞 I've applied for the aircraft technician (mechanical)!
@@sallyspongebob9058 Yeah even though I studied two years straight specifically on Electrical Engineering I still struggled with it. All you can do is prepare the best to your ability and that in its self is enough to be proud of. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes.
@@JakeGchannel it got postponed and just completed the DAA. Absolutely smashed it apart from the electrical comprehension part but it was still good enough to be eligible for all the roles! Absolutely over the moon now!!
@@samuelOvenden yeah I know that feeling 😄 basically just take your time with it, if you had my stream of IFPT staff they really over-exaggerate how strict they are going to be but on the other hand don’t think you can mess it up and they’ll let you off. Just remember the drills in your own time (other than the emergency drill which I think it’s 9 seconds to get the GSR on?) if you do fail one don’t worry to much as they’ll go through the drills again with you before sending you in (or at least they did with us). Out of my intake only 2 got reflighted out of 95 for the CBRN practical. Caps before naps was the one I failed the most. Nerves are the killer in this so just try to relax as much as possible and you’ll be fine. I did get a little CS gas in my gsr but it wasn’t to be I held in the cough until I got out 😄 let us know how it goes.

😂 for some reason this comment didn’t come up on my notifications (my partner pointed it out) apologies for that. Well it took a lot of convincing and also a lot of maturity on her end knowing we’ll be better off than we are in all aspects no matter how hard it was. However, there were times where those subjects had to be exaggerated because it wasn’t real yet 😄 she just said I don’t know how I did it when I was typing this up so there’s her side 😂
