This plugin has been changing my editing life for the past 2 years now!! ❤️🙏🏼 You guys made such an insane job on that one!!!
Glad to hear it! Keep up the good work!!
Benji!!! Love what you do, have a great one!!
Love the plugin, been using it for a couple of years now. Only wish it was available for FCPX, would save me a few round trips! Thanks for the tips Abe
Previously, I would change the digital lens to "linear" but since I learn that "linear" equals original resolution loss due to upscaling now I prefer to take photos and record videos utilising the entire sensor. Since I dislike "wide" distortion, your tutorial is really helpful!
Perfect Timing Abe. Such a great in depth Tutorial. Helped out a lot as I always had to correct in after effects 🥵
that tutorial is so helpful!! i've used the fx only for 360 video but now i'm starting use with the normal video!! thanks for this sick tutorial Abe!!
Great in depth Tutorial. Thanks a lot Abe for making this Video. Would love to see more of these Tutorials on Video Editing in the future !!
Just started using gopro hero 11. its my first gopro. Thank you youtube algo for bringing this video to me. Such a useful tip!
Wow thank you for this Abe, I've been using the Reframe plugin basically everyday for 2 years and never thought about using it with non 360 footage, keep killing it man🇫🇷
Haha yeah I use it for almost every clip! Cheers !
Super helpful dude! Saving this one to revisit this winter :)
Using Gopros for almost 6 years but today is the day that I knew this feature, Thanks to Abe!
This was amazing, thanks for the plugin tip!
This video was amazing. So helpful.
Great tutorial man! So easy to follow your steps
Incredibly valuable resource. Thanks a ton for this, mate!
Great information. I used the fx reframe only for gopro max footage, but now i understood... Thanks.
Such a great plugin, thank you for the tutorials
THIS is the tutorial I've been looking for! I just could NOT figure out how to use 4:3 footage and utilize all the extra space. Thank you!
Glad it helped 🤙🏻
Thanks for the tutorial, Abe!
Yes finally, thank you for making this video, was trying to figure this out
No problem!
learning from the best!! we need more tutorials
Very good and informative video! Thank you!!
yess i need more of these techy tutorials
This was fantastic! Thank you!
unbelievable tutorial. i had no idea this was a thing!
Amazing tutorial and tips Abe! Just another positiv feedback from someone who dont have english as his mothertongue; i really like the clarity and speed of your voice/explenations! Thats another point why you are by far my favorite „teacher“ 😃 THX so much for your amazing work/tutorials🙏🏻 Cheers from Switzerland🇨🇭🏔🍫
Thanks for watching! Glad I could help!
You’re the best Abe! 🤜🏻🤛🏻🤙🏻
Wow awesome plug-in!
FXR - saving the preset now! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Mind = blown. I really thought FX Reframe was just for the Max. Didn't know I could do all of this with Hero footage! Thanks for the tutorial, Abe!
This is such a golden tutorial. Thank you! This may not get a ton of views but for those that need it, this tut will help so much
Oh hi Gatewood! Hope you are well! I still haven't used the dry bag... I gotta get the paddle to the falls trip in before summer comes to an end!
@@huntstyle Cheers my man! I'll be tuning in astutely to that paddle. Your stories and posts all summer have made me wonder why I live in Houston haha

Such a helpful video!
That’s dope dope dope.. I appreciated you going over the 4:3.
Would love a quick crash course in premiere if you don’t have one. Your GoPro stuff is inspiring!
Thank you so much, fantastic for my GP10
I like it , thank you so much 😊.
Video incrível muito bem explicado! nice Abe Kislevitz.
You are really awesome brother😍🙏🏼
Wow. I'm shooting with my GoPro this weekend and this will be really helpful when editing...
loveandpeace bruh.
Sweet! Enjoy!
haha, I know Cassidy when I see it. Thanks for this breakdown. Glad to know gopro is a little more versatile.
very helpfull, thanks.
Good information - let go try.
YES! Fresh upload! Thanks Abe!!!!!
Sidenote: Can't wait to see the new GoPro HERO X release in October. Bigger screen, better sensor & GP2 processor is gonna make it sick!
You seem pretty confident there... :)
@@abekislevitz We can revisit this comment in October.... heheheh :-D
WOOW what the learn !!! it's very helpfull bro thanks for sharing us
and i'm tested with It took me to another level of editing for my votage
i'm sorry i know my english soo bad
Abe, this tutorial is the brain juice all gopro users needed! I do have a question! Your sequences…can you provide the details on how you have them set up in settings for the gopro. Meaning…what frame rates and protune are best for indoor, outdoor, action shots, etc. All your videos are awesome!! And I know you put the settings on your vlogs but can you explain why you chose those settings? If that makes sense? Thank you! Keep making these videos it helps!!!
so cool!!
Thanks man .. can u make a tutorial about Stabilize GoPro footage and render settings 🙏🏽💙
Brilliant, thanks ! Very complete and helpful for both my GoproMax and Hero 👍🏻 Will I switch to Première from FCP 🤔 ?
This Tutorial is 🔥🤯 Thanks so much!:) Is there any Chance that the Plugin will be available for Final Cut?:)
This is SO helpful. Abe is there any difference directly between using Linear Mode, or using Wide then adding this plugin in post? As in, with distortion/artifacts? You said you basically only shoot in wide so that you have the versatility. Thanks!
Great tutorial Abe! Top class! I have a question, you disabled the motion blur to help with speed (I think you're talking about editing speed), but would you enable it later? What exactly does it do to your footage; because I can't spot any differences between having it on or off. Thanks in advance!
Hey Abe, love your tutorials, thanks. Quick question. What are the benefits of the FX Reframe plug-in over the Lens Distortion plug-in for lens correction? Lens Distortion seems lighter on the computer in terms of processing/rendering.
A lot more flexibility with this plugin ! Way more options, way better ability to reframe and slide around to exactly the right frame
Love to hear more about proxies with vertical footage from GoPro, if you do the proxy video. This video is awesome by the way. Can’t wait to try this out.
If you don’t shoot in 4:3 can you still use FX reframe? Assuming yes. Wish I’d filmed my ski trip in 4:3 now.
You can use this with non 4:3! And for vertical video you just need to make a proxy ingest preset based on that aspect ratio. I’m going to make a proxy tutorial and I’ll share a Dropbox link to the ingest presets.
@@abekislevitz that’s awesome, looking forward to it. I was all excited to use FX Reframe but I’m on a Mac that’s locked down, can’t install stuff. I’ll have to play around with it on my somewhat older personal Mac. Thanks again.
Great, thank you for this. This will be very useful, but now I'd like to train this with my old footage, but I don't know in which lens mode I record,so is there any way to get this info from the clip?
thanks for the tutorial, but I am really trying to figure out how to recreate the 16:9 superview mode with the 4:3 video, the difference I see with this effect is that it really straightens out the lines on the outer edges, similar to how linear mode works, but that is not what superview does. It keeps things more warped on the edges. Can we recreate that perspective?
Yep. Use the plugin Andy’s elastic aspect through fx factory 👍🏻
Great tutorial Abe, more of these please. I have question, what is the best way to turn 4:3 wide (POV) into 16:9 to look like superview please? I want to shoot POV in 4:3 as so its easy to use on social media, but also want 16:9 for YT. Many thanks
I’ve got an article on this on my website ! Search for 4:3 gopro Abe on Google it should pop up. But it’s a plugin called Andy’s elastic aspect
@@abekislevitz thank you for the reply, i did read the article. I was wondering if you had any new way of doing this, as I am on Windows. Thanks
@@MilanDH I’m pretty sure the plugin works on windows too!
@@abekislevitz I have double checked, this is a reply from the creator of the plug in from 2013; FxFactory currently relies on a Mac only foundation technology (Quartz Composer) … I’m as hopeful as you are that a broader cross platform solution emerges in the future. Also reading your article says; Edit: Check out this video for an After Effects template for PC users. But the video isn't available.
Thank you for this good tutorial! 👍
(Also you should fix your website link in description, remove www. or adjust prefix 🙂).
hahah glad Ive had that wrong for the past 2 years. thanks :)
@@abekislevitz Never to late, works better now. 😄
great video! Thanks. does anyone knows if this can be used with Davinci Resolve?
This plugin makes my Premiere Pro crash on startup. I hope you could fix the issue :)
hey Abe, thanks very much for your videos, they are very helpful. I just have a problem tho, i really hope you can take a minute to help me. I installed the Plug in and extracted the zip folder, but i don´t know how to install it in Premiere :( i tried to import a preset but the folder appears empty, although it isn´t if i go inside in my PC... thanks in advance and have a great year!
Thanks for this tutorial! But why you don’t just shooting in linear? Even after reframe wide shots do we get still more field of view than linear?
Yeah you get way more view, and you have the freedom to choose linear or not. The only time for me linear makes sense is when I'm going directly to social OR I value the extra stabilization that linear brings, which is a definite plus for linear, and why I do use it often.
@Abe Kislevitz I just stumbles across this. Hero 9 recording in 4k Superview, Hypersmooth High. The 70 lens correction looks distorted, and playing around with it I noticed that the EIS Crop doesnt do anything... This is Hero source video that is right on the SD card, but its like it cant find the EIS info maybe??
I'm quite new in this, and I just want to do videos for fun, not something professional but something that looks good, what with be the best software to use and learn? I was recommended Filmora.
Is this a bit like Reelsteady Go?
So I did all of this with 4:3 video from a hero 7 (just as first trail - I shoot a 10 and a max most of the time). However, it seems to make the hyper smooth less... smooth? I notice the EIS is set to 10, which is what this video suggests. What about the Superview/Hyperview value under advanced controls? What is it that I am not doing.
Are there any options for something like this in resolve? I can use lens correction but I lose all of the edges of my frame... not sure how to get it to warp outside of the frame boundary
Crazy question. Will this plugin work with Osmo footage?
btw how did u get those rulers and pull fown a straight line?
Is the EIS crop 0 for editing GoPro 7 footage?
Is there any way to use this with Final Cut Pro X?
Hey Abe I’m new to trying to edit GoPro footage you you have any videos on how to start in premier on how to start making videos for UA-cam and ig. My biggest problem is I feel like I lose my quality when I export. Or maybe my setup when I first begin is wrong in premiere? Any tips or video would be greatly appreciated.
can you please show, How you colorgrade your GoPro videos ????
Would I need to use this if I record without stabilisation (using a Gimbal to eliminate shakes) so that there is no crop?
What specs of Mac Pro?
Hello, I have tried your tutorial but when I'm adjusting the Zoom, my background is not black but it looks like a mirror of the video or like an extended mirror of it and I find it hard to adjust. Is there a way to turn the background black just like in your tutorial? Thank you.
Hi, just a quick question, I found that the gopro FX plugin is a .aex file, and I put it under the plug-ins/AffterEffectsLib/Effects but still can't find it in the adobe premiere, could u pls elaborate a little bit on how exactly to use this .aex plugin on premiere pro? I am using the 2020 version
Awesome! Thanks! Quick question. I have an M1 Mac using the latest premiere pro, and the plug in is not showing up. Is this a problem on adobe’s end or am I not doing it correctly? Thanks
Did you see the special beta build in my description? You’ll need that
is there any way to do this GoPro reframing in Davinci Resolve?
Anyone else having trouble opening Premier 2022 after downloading the plugin? I deleted it and it worked again. Is there an updated version of the FX Reframe to use for Premier 2022?
Hello! Why shoot in a linear view when it is a software crop of a super view. I checked, this is a chamber crop for detailing.
It would be awesome if Fx Reframe would work in Davinci Resolve :C
Why has the Facecam such low fps? Is there any idea behind it?
how to install plugin
hey, is it somehow possible to use it in Davinci Resolve? Dont want to use it crossplattform... is there any idea about updating this video for the new 8:7 Sensor footage, i think the workflow would be different? or also for the new Hyperview 16:9 view... Thank you so much for your Tutorials love it. Hope there is any solution for using it in Davinci I really dont like using Premiere again.
Bonus: 1. if there is no way to get this plugin in Resolve, is there something similar maybe out there? 2. if not, and if i really just want to use premiere to add the lense correction etc, how would it behave if i want to render everything out and move on to Resolve (should i render it out in mp4 codec? ProRes? etc I am still new to videoediting but really want to stick with Resolve. Would be so cool to see a updated video with the 8:7 footage and the hyperview option that the new gopros have :) thank you so much for that
(at 17:35 you show the benefits of shooting in 4x3 but how does it behave for FPV Pilots, we always shooti in 4x3 withouth hypersmooth, because we want to use Reelsteady, but reelsteady crops it for us...so there is no way of a benefit for it after rendering it out in Reelsteady right?
Thanx for this nerd stuff 🤓
Can i do this in davinci resolve?
Unfortunately not at this time. Though resolve has its own tools for lens correction
What about Final Cut pro X?
unfortunately not available at this time.
THE DON.
Does this plugin work in Davinci resolve ??
you can do the lens correction with one slider using resolve, no need to worry about a plugin
@@mxxcali6726 ohh in resolve i k ow but it doesnt work.well
Can you give to us some free luts???please
Your videos are perfect ...keep going
Hi Abe. Tell me what to do, it does not work on MACOS Premiere 2021? Mistake: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
Hmm! What mac are you on? and what OS?
@@abekislevitz MacBook Pro Mid 2015 Retina macOS 11.4. Adobe Premiere Pro 2021 v.15.2
@@andreykasatkin7506 Hmm. I can't think of why that might happen. I have had it running on the same system. I wonder if it's conflicting with an existing set of plugins possibly. Is it when you open the program or add the effect?
@@abekislevitz Thank you, in my country on the GoPro website the version of GoPro-FX-Reframe-Plugin-1.2.1.133 was downloaded from the link, I downloaded the version of GoPro-FX-Reframe-Plugin-1.2.2.164 from your link and everything works!
First maybe 🤔
Shame there's no FCP or Resolve version!
there is a slider under the inspector tab where you can do the lens correction with a slider, no need for plugins
@@mxxcali6726 It doesn't do the same thing. You need to use the Fusion tab with a couple of nodes to achieve the same control that Abe does here.
Hi sir, I just realized my video file is narrow FOV but actually I need superview FOV mode instead. Do you know how to fix this problem ? Is there any way I can change from narrow to superview by using app or software ?
Much appreciate for your help.
