I gravitate towards your videos! I’ve been playing commander for almost two months now and every time I see a new video I click instantly. Keep up the amazing work 🙏🙏
We proxied pollywog prodigy for a few games and we found that it costing 2 mana and only tiggerring off 0 cost spells (if there's no follow up) hurts it. Usually, by the time it hits the field, most of the relevant mana rocks have likely been casted or cheated into play. And it felt bad drawing it on later turns where everyone's holding on to 3+ cmc interaction. It does work well if it manages to hit 3 power early but that's harder than most people think.
Polywog prodigy also works with delney which was what im most excited about. Polywog into delney would give it two counters, and polywog after delney would give you double draws. Kinda interesting
Notice that Valley Floodcaller can act as a Hullbreaker Horror with Mana Postive Rocks and Retraction Helix/Banishing Knack, which makes it funny and cheaper than Hullbreaker.
I've made a Baylen list that's definitely not fully optimized since it's new, but it's been doing really well in tests. It consistently performs Dockside combo or Rosie/Scurry and wins from that. Any infinite treasure/token combo means you win the game from your Commander. If the commander is on board and you perform any combos, especially after resolving a Chord of Calling style effect, you can go overtop everyone at instant speed and draw your whole deck or as much as necessary. Baylen becomes infinitely big and kills everyone with Kediss, Halo Fountain is an easy win-con, and Impact Tremor style effects do the same thing. There's even a new two-mana one in Bloomburrow! I know it won't ever be Blue Farm, but it's been doing surprisingly well!
I think Magda got one of the biggest boosts with 2 completely new artifact changelings and the season spell that can by itself create 5 treasures at once
Pollywog will definitely be something I will test in Temur Dargo and is definitely one I will add into my high power Azami list Edit: Also new simic Emiel frog is DEFINITELY going to be take Temur Sabertooth’s slot in the list for sure
Cards that might see play somewhere: artist's talent; keen-eyed curator (over scavenging ooze in mono green decks maybe); ral, crackling wit (for spell slinger decks like krark/sakashima but also probably just win-more); zoraline, cosmos caller; barkform harvester (magda). Take Out the Trash -- new card to name with Demonic Consultation.
I am brewing with Fortune Teller's Talent as it wins with Senseis and acts like a Future sight. Seems to be good in decks that already run reality chip and the like, the 3rd level is in almost any case just win the game with some combo (as you will have the 2nd level as well).
Valley Floodcaller is a big game changer for decks running Necropotence. I hate to say it but I think it actually boots Borne Upon A Wind despite the power of that card. You don't want too many cards of that effect in the 99. Also, you end up using your mana way more efficiently with the otter.
Baylen, for me goes arround collector ouphe and blood mon, so you can go stax without the downside, and also if you are making tokens like crazy, you can start thinking of cards outside the meta such as aura shards, it is gonna take a while to see a decent build but do not sleep on it
A lot of this set feels great in high power casual (Foxglove feels very much like generic Bant good stuff, maybe with a Voltron sub theme) but man if it’s not limited in the cEDH department
Jackdaw Savior goes infinite with 2 mana clones and sacrifice outlets. Its like like Reveilark but cheaper, looking for what packages and commander works best with it (as you are easily UW and probably black/green to tutor for creatures easily).
I was planning on replacing Chain of Vapor with Into the Flood Maw. I'm not sure, but every time I put a CoV on the stack it seems like I am praying that my opponent doesn't copy it or I get blown out by my own spell. I've never been a fan of the card.
Ive brewed zennia the second it was spoiled, had some doubters in the tayam discord but some have come around to it, being able to go for easy spell seeker lines like innalla or utterly abusing the life out of delney. that commander has 2 variants possible, gross stax 2 for ones that cant really be dealt with except for a board wipe, or mid range good stuff copying creature value engines and having a huge ceiling
I beleieve that the otter version os stella lee, can be used as backup, as I see the deck played like tivit. Where it's not played unless it's going off, or out of cards. But this girl can enter, draw out removal, or enter after stella got interacted with.
Now that I mention Tivit, did you guys ever cover ACR, or at least the grixis tivit? I think a shell in betwee. Rog/Si,Tivit, and Magda can be played. I mean a semi-turbo deck that can play wacky vehicles to tap pirates/atack for value, and has a 2 card wincon built in
What up sensei… I’m with u, the cruel claw Is usable as a commander for people that really like it, I lost to it on spelltable. I also like the new clone (I love running clones, attack of the clones!!!) thought about the poison cards with the treasures but came to the same conclusion seems like it would be cool and u would wreck a game with it once and then be sad to draw it a bunch.
I'm going to try out the Calamity of Cinders in Jan Jansen. I'm testing some new changes and I'm hoping I can get enough creatures reliably for it to be RR + 0-2 mana one-sided boardwipe against the value/stax creatures that aren't typically attacking. Also going to test Retribution of the Meek because of decks like Ellievere and Jetmir where the creatures I want to get rid of with Calamity will often be tapped.
Helga, Skittish Seer is a way better bant commander than Mr. Foxglove. She's a food chain commander (cast Misthollow Griffin to buy your whole deck) that can work well with Peregrine Drake/Great Oak Guardian + Cloudstone Curio/Temur Sabertooth loops.
Not a top teir deck, but Valley Floodcaller is a slam dunk in Azami. Even just untapping itself for another card ain't nothing, then you've got cards like Kitsa that work well in tandem with it. Also surprised you didn't mention Splash Portal as another Essence Flux in Nadu that also draws a card (Although it is sorcery speed).
That's tough, they both have pretty different upsides. I think in general I probably like Mockingbird more, I'd be inclined to default to that and Metamorph for most decks, though it'll probably take some testing to see how it feels in your list.
The idea is you can use Ranger Captain to get Mockingbird, which can then clone a creature in play. So for a 2 drop like Dockside or Grand Abolisher in play, it's similar to RCoE being able to get Phantasmal Image.
I just gave up kinnan and got the nadu because it is kind of 2 years with nothing to add on the deck, also, it is befoming kind of "all the same" deckplay...no more fun playing kinnan
Hugs is another Food Chain Gruul commander, not better than Etali but it still another reasonable option, plus being able to play the cards out of exile is not irrelevant including the bonus land drop it gives, only situation it could beat etali out is a super niche one where you've cast etali like 3 times and in response to it they boseiju the Food chain or something, almost never gonna happen, but if you can win with him, you won in a group with Hugs, group Hugs
I think Into the Floodmaw will see the most play, seriously considering swapping out cyc rift for it. 1 mana for super flexible removal. It's like a Chain of Vapor that can't be copied, but can't target your own things. It's interesting for sure. I think I definitely prefer it to Pongify or Rapid Hybridization
It isn't really that specific cards are power creeping old ones directly as much as it is that in a very short time, we went from cEDH getting almost no new cards in entire years to now it being normal that standard sets bring new staples.

yeah it seems pretty crazy to me with dockside

Love the Harvester shout at the end, potentially the best card printed for Magda since Roaming Throne.
Love the new transitions, they look clean.

Hazel's Brewmaster is SotF'able, which imo gives it a leg up over cauldron. It also dodges artifact hate/stax, if that ever comes back.
Im qquite hyped for the heist. As the commander i use is more niche and will recast the spell multiple times a game.
Im here to praise Magda.....maybe Rogsi now.
I was planning on replacing Chain of Vapor with Into the Flood Maw. I'm not sure, but every time I put a CoV on the stack it seems like I am praying that my opponent doesn't copy it or I get blown out by my own spell. I've never been a fan of the card.
Chain is definitely primarily for your own use as a ritual and secondary as a real bounce spell.

And even tho it's a stretch it's a dockside timesieve deck, so it could play cat, and try to go intrinsically infinite with those value pieces.
What up sensei… I’m with u, the cruel claw Is usable as a commander for people that really like it, I lost to it on spelltable. you think season of the bold is good in magda decks?
When you gift a fish with Into the Flood Maw, you don’t necessarily have to gift the same opponent you bounce the target from, right?
Correct!
No mention of Iridescent Vinelasher? Auto-include in Ob Nixilis imo
Cant you use the lily mentor to flicker amazing etb effects continuously?
@@joejojo5966 yep! I think that's what makes it so much more attractive than Temur Sabertooth.
Love Pollywag Prodigy in Tymna Malcolm
I'm going to try Cruel Claw in the 99 of my Ob list.
If you cast Mockingbird for 2 to copy dockside and then blink with Emiel, would it keep entering as a dockside?
@steveb8966 no at that point no mana was spent to cast it so it enters as a mockingbird or a copy of a 0 mana creature.
Bloodroot is sliding into Tayam for sure
Wait... Dont you have go pay 2U to clone and below for Mockingbird?
9.97 as of now...LET'S GO!!!
Is it worth it to replace imposter mech with mockingbird in tivit?
That's tough, they both have pretty different upsides. I think in general I probably like Mockingbird more, I'd be inclined to default to that and Metamorph for most decks, though it'll probably take some testing to see how it feels in your list.
