Air New Zealand are fabulous. When my mum was dying and I flew home to Christchurch, I couldn't access my bank account till the following morning as it was an Australian account, and was desperate to get to the hospital but had no way of getting there, it being around 11:30pm. The ground crew grabbed the airport police officer and organised me a lift to the hospital, but then they handed me a bunch of cash and me being astonished, blurted out, "What on earth is this?" "Oh," was the casual reply; "We passed the hat. Off you go now..." I will never forget their kindness, nor the kindness of the police officer. Air New Zealand, you rock!
Oh, Wendy...that story brought tears to my eyes. How wonderful. I agree..,.Air New Zealand are the BEST ❤️
As a Kiwi bloke, yeah you got us 😂 I've had people cross the road to avoid me but I love nothing more than helping people and feeling useful. The gruffness is just a wall we put up when we're on autopilot
Well I for one love you! Thank you for being with us and for saying hi! Have a fab weekend, Liz and Bri 😊
Air NZ were amazing when my brother in law died when they were in Australia. They went above and beyond, giving my sister and her family priority boarding and upgrading to business class. I have always been proud of our national airline ❤
Us too, Trudi. Worldclass. 🇳🇿❤️
Busted! That Kiwi blokes are marsh mellows is supposed to be a secret! As the vicar said at my wedding "treat your wife like a thorough breed and she will never be a nag". Nice gentle video - regards Mr G
Hehehe!! You must have been blushing Mr G!! You and your mates are welcome on my side of the BBQ anytime 😁!! xx
Four Square is like Open All Hours, Granville.
Hmmm only it's not is it?? It shuts at 7... 🤣 Thank you for joining us, have a lovely week!
As I've mentioned many times, Liz and Brian, your vlogs never disappoint. They bring us so much joy and laughter. You two are truly amazing.💖
I love those 5 points... Brian's "#7"🤣 and the "let Brian talk" notes crack me up! 😜🤣 It's expected that New Zealand dairy products are top-notch. We're eagerly looking forward to traveling and experiencing the beauty of this country. We dream of retiring in NZ for its lifestyle, the kindness of Kiwis, and the beautiful weather. Sadly, we can't due to surpassing the 56-year-old limit.
Canada is a stunning and vast country with excellent healthcare and safety. Contrary to popular belief, it's not uniformly cold everywhere in winter. Each province has its own climate, and 90% of Canadians live within 160 km of the U.S. border. Beyond that, it gets colder with less agriculture and a sparse population, experiencing very cold winters.
Sending lots of love to both of you. Keep making us laugh!💖
The Kapiti Apple Crumble Ice scream is so good as well.
Thanks for including me in the nice Kiwi guys description in relation to 'This is New Zealand'.
Our pleasure, my friend! You are one a kind, sir 🥰
As a New Zealander living abroad, this couldn't be any more spot on 😂👏
Thank you, Antoinette! We are so pleased you found us and took the time to say hi! 🥰
I agree about Air NZ. My husband and I had tickets to travel from NZ to the States and we didn't bother getting travel insurance. He passed away before we could take the trip. Air NZ credited my CC for all airline costs for both our tickets once I supplied a copy of the NZ death certificate. No hassle at all. Very sympathetic to the situation.
Thank you for sharing. The empathy and kindness Air NZ provide are second to none. Sending you much love at this time ❤️
Great content, Liz and the other guy. 😂😂
😂😂 "Oh, hello...can I help you?..." 🤣
Coffee this morning Blenheim came across this bill board:
VIAGRA
Won't make you Brad Pitt
Will make you Roger Moore.
Silly but it's why I love NZ.
People sharing absolute grassroots humor.
😂 Thanks for sharing, Mark!
I get asked a lot of I am a Kiwi, just based on how I walk, how slow I walk, and say bugger all, apparently it's easy to pick out, first I heard of it.
Is the spacebar not working or autocorrect not adding a space after commas?
Sorry, you might be using a old device like me (iPad Mini 3). Strange things happen.
@@bernz3025 What? You 're over thinking it, learn to read.
Loved it, you two are the BEST XXX
Thank you, Jill, it is always wonderful to see your name on our comments! Have a great weekend and thank you for being you xx
When things are stressy for me here in NZ, I dream of moving to Vanuatu - there's always somewhere else where the grass is greener! 😅
Thank you for sharing, Trudi! Have a wonderful Christmas, stay safe, happy and stress free! 🥰
i love Air NZ. the services is great and they gave me a discount and priority when i needed a urgent ticket.
Yes Brian you’re correct. The Whitestone cheese factory is in Oamaru. The best cheese 😊
Thank you, Maureen! So happy to have you with us 😊🧀
so much love you have for one another!! you are both blessed! New Zealand'ers can learn a thing or 2 watching the dynamics of your relationship!! Ka pai Korua
You are so kind, thank you. Aroha to you! 🥰
I'm a Kiwi-raised male who's carefully listening to your "surprises". Perhaps I'm not average coz I don't even understand the rugby rules, have never held a rugby ball and grew with chaps who were the same as me not following the game. I played a wee bit of soccer at primary school. I was more into golf as I grew up. Wow, French cheese!! A downside of NZ is it exports huge amounts of dairy produce but it's very expensive in NZ. Terrible!!
I wonder if the EU allows NZ cheese into France?
Aldi sells Kapiti ice-cream in Sydney, so I sometimes pop in to buy some. Hmmmm . . .
Liz, when you try to do a Kiwi accent you sound like an Aussie. LOL😂
I have to watch my glucose levels but Whittaker's chocolate sometimes captures me at Woolworths. I might treat myself to Whittaker's for Xmas Day.
They're not the best and are short of staff but Kiwi public hospitals are still mostly free, guess.
It would be interesting to know what the average Brit knows about NZ apart from sheep, hotsprings, Maori hakas.😂
I've thought Coromandel would be nice place to retire in NZ with an average fishing boat close to the water.
Liz, I hope you're keeping busy with your mother battling cancer.
Have a good Xmas. Bye.
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment, Robert! Have a great Christmas, enjoy your Whittakers and stay safe and happy. Thank you for being with us and thank you again for saying hello ☺️ Liz and Brian x
Many don't understand why our dairy/meat produce is expensive. Our government in the 80's stopped subsidising the farmers in NZ, meanwhile the countries we struggle to get into their markets do subsidise their farmers through the tax payers.
@@myhat99Subsidise? There was a minimum price scheme and some on fertiliser. The minimum price scheme only occurred when prices paid fell too low. If they're too low, exports fall off and others made all the money. Somewhat as now.
4 Square Stores are grocery stores, convenience stores are dairies here.
I think most Kiwis say they'll move to Invercargill, they mean Southland... or Australia to escape.
Thank you for joining us and for saying hi! 😊
And merry xmas to yourself and Brian and all the best for a good year in 2024. Arohanui
Thank you my friend! And the same to you too 🥰
great video guys rather watch your video content than you podcast always real and funny cheers
Glad you enjoy it! Our next few audio podcasts were videoed so we hope you enjoy it. Thank you for being with us! 😃
Love listening. Have fun.
Thank you Jen! Have a wonderful weekend! 🥰
Its funny Liz, your reply to my saying I don't tend to pay my speeding fines, here in Aus, your reply saying 'Thanks for sharing'. Such a great way of passively telling me off. You will be pleased I'm paying it. THANKS :) Absolutely love the show, cant wait to get back there and rejuvenate my Kiwi being.
hahaha!! If you'd have been at mine having a glass of wine I could have said "I don't blame you" (but I'm on UA-cam so have to be seen as being good..😂)
Have a fab Christmas, thank you for your great comment and making us smile! Liz and Bri x
PS: I hope you spent it on something decent?!! 😂
Canada is said to be like New Zealand and the USA is more like Australia. I visited Canada on my way to see my sister who lives in England and has done for 25 years as she left NZ when she 22. I found Canadians very similar in terms of feeling welcomed and they are approachable. I met some lovely Canadians visiting NZ as well. If I was to live in a different country in would be Italy. I loved spending time everywhere I went there.
Thank you for being here and for sharing, Amy! We really do appreciate you 😊
2:30 - I got to see Auszie men watching the tv series, "A Town Called Alice".
Yo sis! Spot on! Kiwi in Oz missing home.
Sending you much love! 🥰
I live in Australia and I am happy here but I know that New Zealand is even better
Sending much love to you and yours in Australia, Heather! Thank you for being with us and for saying hi! 😊🇦🇺
Hahahaa love the cheese segment…. I guest thats what we call it… a segment… anyway. So there is a thing in Canada about cheddar cheeses. The talk…. Is that the best is the Ontario cheddar cheese. “ Balderson” is the bar to which all is compared. Balderson Ontario. It is really good I must say.
November 2022 we are driving in our super cozy van cruising the South Island. We flew into Christchurch and started our journey from there. We picked up the van and off to the store to stock up …. Quick Segway… I made a point of being observant with traffic in my rearview, and made sure that we weren’t the classic twits in the rental van.… I’m a commercial pilot and I have pride re driving anything… OK just had to say that. I will end that sentence with a period so it’s not the world’s longest run-on sentence.
We looked through the cheeses in the store and decided what the heck let’s get the one that says “ fancy cheese “ , how could you say no to that. The time came for us to pull over at a beautiful spot, which are easily found I might add, for lunch, and availed ourselves of the fancy cheese. OMG , to quote you guys we will say, this is only our opinion not yours or anybody else’s, it was awesome every bit as good as the fancy Balderson cheese from Ontario Canada.
All good fun . Love having my coffee I feel like I’m sitting on your deck. It’s a little weird I find myself saying why on earth am I listening to this couple who I don’t even know talk about things. And then I realize that’s what you’re doing talking about things like we always do around here.
Thanks again M. and J
What a fabulous comment, Mike! Thank you so very much for sharing and we are glad to hear that the cheese lived up to your expectations!
Have a wonderful week and thank you again for being with us on our deck...it'd be very boring if me and Bri only had each other to talk to...😘😂
I couldn't disagree with you more in regards to your dissertation that all new zealand men are of the parochial down on the farm chasing sheep mentality, although this may a personal that some choose to adopt with foreigners for fun I am sure that if you had the inclination and ability scratch just below the surface of most 3,4,5 and 6th generation new Zealanders and of course our moari Brothers you would find a culture unequaled any where in the world , only 200 years since these islands had not so much as a stone building, look at our music, our scientists, our actors, our heros, there are too any to list.
Thank you for being with us Luke 😊
Kiwi blokes are tough sweating always ready for anything.
We don't have an iner woman ..... yeah right. 😂
When we meet real people ..... they become family friends for life. Always been the Kiwi way.
Big hug to mum.
Merry Xmas big hugs to you both high 5 the kids.
Stay safe my friends.
Merry Xmas to you too, Mark! 🥰
I'm from Massachusetts and that saying doesn't exist here. We went to NZ on vacation, and everyone asked us... Why would you go there? Now we are considering moving there😂

Thank you Damon! Sending love to you and yours in Stratford! 🥰
British Airways are terrible. I used to be a gold card holder and even then they were difficult when things went wrong, now I am bronze card holder after retiring its worse. My mates and I go from Edinburgh to Cape Town each year for golf and we either fly Qatar or Emirates - its longer but a much better experience, friendly staff, modern plane and decent menu . For me BA is my last choice. I am visiting NZ in January and flying Emirates, Qantas and Air NZ. My tour operator didn’t even consider BA for long haul
Thank you for being with us and for saying hi, Iain! Have a fabulous Christmas and a safe trip to NZ in January! 😊
Have a safe and happy journey in January, Emirates are great, Air NZ are great, Quantas can be hit and miss and unfortunately when it’s a miss it can be terrible. Hoping for you, you’ll get them on a good day 😊.
Kia ora to you both. Just on your last point, a sort of Utopia to move to, my extended whānau have occasionally been known to threaten to move to Narnia! Still, I remember late 60s early 70s politics, cold war and Vietnam, there was a sub culture of US immigrants who felt that, in the event of a nuclear blow up, Aotearoa/NZ might still exist, and might be safe. I was too young (then) to question that; but now, a few years on, I'm not so sure.... Actually two different sorts; those who were filled with fear of annihilation, and a few others who were alternative spiritualistic people? Hippy-ish, and/or organic lifestylers before the word recycling was ever heard (by me)
Kia ora! Thank you so much for watching, for your kind comment and for saying hi! We appreciate you being with us! Have a great week😊
👍❤️🇳🇿
About the American saying, "Let’s move to New Zealand". It may come from the movie Heat. When Robert Deniro's character wants to escape a life of crime, his plan is to move to New Zealand with his girlfriend. Just a theory 😂
Love that film! Thanks for the theory, Greg! 😊
Puhoi Wham = pooh hoy farm
Thank you!
Im chocolate marshmallow ❤
Apparently if the world had massive earthquakes, and the ice melted, New Zealand would be the safest place to be,not sure how they worked that out.
Crikey, Andy...who would we talk to at the cafe then??? 😂 Have a great weekend my friend!

If that was me I would have said “hey bro? Don’t be rude and go outside please?
Kapiti Rarama, thank me later.
😂 There you go...thank you!
You really love the sound of your own voice, don't you.
Don't listen. Don't watch. Have a cup of tea.
@@dennisorawe835 typical pom telling people what to do...
@@alanhooper6914 Nobody is telling anyone what to do. It's a story about their experiences in New Zealand. Here's a suggestion, don't watch.
@@dennisorawe835 wasn't referring to the story, was referring to the reply, got it.
@alanhooper6914 Got it.Jumped to conclusions. Have a nice day
Just don't live with a Kiwi man. It's a nightmare. This is the reason why NZ women are learning DIY, the men are not interested in getting their hands dirty!
I tried French Brie... it was awful. Sour, really sour and smelled like socks. I tried Moet... and it smelled like bread crusts and tasted like yeasty tonic water.
You probably are thinking of Kapiti Kahurangi Creamy Blue Cheese.
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Merry Christmas to you too! 🥰
