Hi mate the new shocks looks unreal 👌🏻 it's a bummer that you are in a lock down again 🤬 hope it is not lasting too long!!! Which you all the best bro! Cheers mate 🍻
I’m engineering my GQ at the moment as well mate. Braced front and rear GU diffs, braced front and rear coil towers and hydraulic brake booster. 3.5t gvm
Awesome vid as usual Dan! Whereabouts are you guys getting engineering done? I have Gu in Melbourne that needs the same treatment. 4inch 35z and 3.5 would be great to keep. Cheers
I’m not sure if you can for these, I know you can for the 2.0. I’ve never ran them though, can potentially hold all the dirt and sand inside and damage the shaft. But there’s pros and cons to both
They say no because they fill with mud but i made some out of moto fork boots and left the lower open ..my first superior failure was a rear that spat a seal due to little sharp chips on the shaft from gravel roads.
Interestingly though all you do is smooth the shaft down with an oil sharpening stone and put a new seal in oil and nitrogen . The remaing tiny divits from chips dont have any affect.. but obviously far better to cover them in the first place
Hey Daniel, When you run out of things to do on the GQ (i know its a GQ so will never not need fixing. haha) you should take the microlight out for a fly hahah
I thought you were installing a fork lift diff. cherishe said he was going to help you put it in? 🏌🏼♀️.. nice 👍 shocks tho. BIG! I run high speed low speed Ohlins . 🏴☠️🛠
Hey mate, they are 4 inch lift shock. Coming from a 5 inch 2.0. I lost about 30mm of down travel which I’m not worried about but kept pretty much the same up travel which is what I wanted
Looking good man, I'm planning in putting GU diffs under my wagon soon so just wondering how much of a GVM upgrade you are getting and what you have to get done for it.
Thanks mate. Mines going to 3.3 tonne. I’ve still got to do a little bit more stuff but best thing to do is speak to an engineer and have them guide you through the process.
@@DanielKistler it’s a GQ GU thing. :) I got the OME BP51 shocks. Adjustable like the superiors. Work very well 👍🏼 I reckon the superior sway bar will be mint for you. Longer arms on it so less leverage to rip the mounts out.
@@vincem5 pretty much haha. Mines pretty good considering the amount of stuff it has on it. I’ve gone off the superior sway bar for 2 reasons - they were like $550ish last time I looked from memory and now they are over $700 - the longer length arms. I couldn’t care less about flex, I just want it to handle good with maximum up travel haha!
@@DanielKistler no worries. looking forward to the feedback mate. Who’s doing the engineering for the roof sliders? - tempted to get them done on my GU.
@@Chasing_Back_Roads I’ll be sure to give some feedback in a video! S&m engineering are doing the car. You can just engineering a single part of the car, the whole car has to be done.
Would be really hard to do the top mounts without lifting the cab up to get in there, fuel tank out, diff out and lift the cab up. Too hard basket haha.
@@DanielKistler you sure have bud , just need to re-watch your vids , alot of information for a small brain lol , cheers mate , love the channel , keep the good stuff coming , have learnt alot from your content 👍

@@DanielKistler Thanks mate. Are you happy with them so far? The engineer I've been working with has been super difficult to communicate with, looking for someone else in Melbourne.
awesome shocks Daniel, the limit strap is brilliant , stay sane in the lock down. Cheers Rolly
Thanks mate! Same to you! Cheers
Got to love 4bys, drive,
It break it, fix it. drive it and it’s broken again 😂😂😂😂 great video mate 👌👌
Hahaha it’s a vicious cycle, fun though! Cheers mate
Keep it up mate love watching your vids has got me keen for a high country trip
You and I both mate! Cheers

Thanks mate, hopefully the lockdown ends soon so we can get out and go for a spin! Cheers 🍻
Love the thursday upload 🤟

New shocks look sick
They look awesome. Keen to see how they go!

Sounds about the same as me mate! 👌🏻👌🏻
@@DanielKistler among a bunch of other things. I was gonna run the gauntlet, but it’s not worth it anymore. Making it as legal as possible.
Exactly right mate. That’s why I’m doing it to, get it over and done with now because it’s only going to get harder and harder

@@hynes84 thanks mate. Mines going to s&m engineering. You won’t be able to get the 35s or 4 inch lift done though! Cheers
nice mate you might have that shock by the time we get out of lockdown
I’ll put an update in one of the future videos but it’s not looking good haha.
Good educational video
Bit off topic, what radius arms and dropboxes have you got in the wagon?
Thanks mate. Both cars have racebred hybrid arms
Have to tell us what you think of the new rear shocks Dan 👍
I’ll be sure to add it in to one of the future videos mate. Haven’t driven the car yet haha
Looking good , can you get dust boot/covers for the shocks or does having them create more problems then they solve?

Did you buy or make the brace?
Sick shed video 👌
Hope so haha. I brought it mate! Thanks for watching
Whats the 1hdft sitting in the background near the door going into 🤔 great vids mate always a hungover sunday watcher or a quiet friday night
That’s my brothers, it’s going in that red 80 series. Hopefully I’ll be doing videos of it! Thanks for watching mate
