TOs used to do that but had to restrict teams so that only 2-3 people from the same team could be in the national team. Otherwise lineups like VP or Fnatic would stomp everyone else

what did liquid do? They beat Astralis, Ence, Complexity, G2, Falcons, GamerLegion, Heroic, M80(which also beat them as well but a map basis their 4-4. They reached top 10 on valve rankings 11th on hltv in only a few months from having completely lost their rank. The made grand final at CCT Global final. I dare say they be easily top 5 if cadian hadn't missed so many easy awp shots and tried to be a one man hero all the time. Their 60% winrate would be closer to 80%. They nearly beat Faze 2-0. Took them to OT in nuke, Fazes favorite map. then lost 3rd map. They accomplished more this season then any other NA team. Although Col got a trophy at the end, it was only an 8 team B-tier event. They almost didnt even make playoffs against team like BB rerostered Ence. An event Liquid and M80 didnt even bother doing qualifiers because they had more important qualifiers.
And still liquid won absolutely nothing
