This is too funny. I live at 17th and Chesterfield which is a notorious 4 way stop that people always fight over. I looked up 4 way stops on UA-cam and here you are driving in North Van. What a coincidence.
I'm driving in Canada and the US soon and we don't have 4 way stops so this has helped me a lot to understand how such an intersection works. I'm not sure but from the looks of the video - do pedestrians have right of way when crossing or do they have to give way (I think you call it yield there) to vehicles?
Hi !! I'm glad it could help. Yes, pedestrians "have the right of way" i.e. vehicles are supposed to let all pedestrians proceed, so, of course this can get confusing to figure out who's turn it is then.. ;)
Very useful information and educational! Very useful for me when I drive a Rental car in Hawaii...since I am from Australia! 4 way stop does not exist! (Instead, Roundabout is common)
im getting my permit soon. During your video at the 1:50 mark, why did you guys go at the same time? if the other guy took a left, wouldn't you hit him? I'm confused
If you watch very carefully you can see we go a little bit after the car, when it's obvious it's not turning left... So yes you do need to be careful with that.
I have a question about ua-cam.com/video/OuG5AKy-I3s/v-deo.html ,can I turn left when the pedestrian walk across the stress? Thank you! I'm preparing the road test now. :)
kee23 Nothing except for when it says 4 way you know that there are 4 ways, and when it says ALL WAY it means there might be 4 ways or there might be a different number of roads, like 3 or 5 or it may be two different 4-way stops right beside each other so by saying ALL WAY it just means "EVERYBODY" Stop and take turns... I guess.
4-way stops are far better than roundabouts. In european countries, just like in South America people aren't used to cooperate with one another. We can see that when a traffic light is out of work: in North America (USA and Canada) people know how to behave in situations like that. I'm from Brazil and I'd like to see GOOD drivers here, just like I see in The USA and in Canada.
In Australia, if lights are blacked out, there are stop signs that have 3 blacks dots over it. It is kinda like a 4 way stop, only half the people can't drive in Australia
THANK YOU it been so hard for me to understand how it worked
Oh your welcome, I'm glad it helped :)

this was actually a really nice video lol the instructor seems very good and confidant
this video doesn't show traffic built up on all 4 corners....why wouldn't you show that....it's what people have the most difficulty with
Ok thanks for the feedback, Yeah I'll make another one, that's a good idea!

I'm not sure people are good drivers here.. we have our problems too. But I get what you are saying :)

Oh!!! That sounds a bit terrifying!
No, four way stop only slows down the Traffic slow.
