It should have been to be honest. There is an oem option in that rectangular spot. It's a bag that gets connected to that spot. Extremely rare. I prefer this method though.
Great video man! I'm trying to add my own custom table to my crv tailgate. Anyway to get a bolt/nut through that sheet of metal Infront of the spare tyre slot? Can't seem to find away to get at it from the inside, and really don't want to weld!!!

I believe it’s possible. Just do your research. I think I seen people use a gen 1 or 2 Honda odyssey center console in their rd1s as well.

Thank you much appreciated. I dont think there is any way to do it without welding. I couldn't figure out a way so that's why welding had to happen.
