I'm seriously impressed that you realized the "strike team" reveal wasn't a hype moment so much as a tragic one... Caitlyn sneering as she says Jinx's name, Vi putting on the symbol of everything she hates to try to keep others from getting hurt, and Jayce compromising *again* on making Hextech weapons. None of them are holding it together well. Most reactors I've seen are cheering and clapping during that scene, haha
I love the new opening and the way it references famus theatric tragedis. Viktor being the phantom of the opera, Jinx - Les Mis, Mel - Julius Caesar, Caitlyn - Macbeth. My inner theatre kid feels so seen.
There are two really subtle moments in that funeral scene that I love...when Cait notices people are watching and she stiffens up, and when the casket is closing and there's this little lunge and look on her face like she can't accept that her mother is gone.
Yeah, I noticed. Like she's saying "Please no... please don't go." Always a feeling someone has when they lose someone they love. I lost a friend in 2021 and because I was at work, I couldn't leave to visit them at the hospital, which broke me even more. I was also saying, "Please don't go. Don't leave me and your family" while I was alone in the break room breaking down. Now their son is without one of his parents. I had planned on asking them if they were gonna throw another New Year party like before just before they passed because the last one I spent with them was so much fun.
Finally someone who gets everything wrong with Vi’s interactions with enforcers. From even Cait asking, her joining, hextech uses and the “there’s still goods one left”. Thx for not letting me alone in this
The way Cait collapses into Vi's arms, hit right in the feels. Also the song at her mothers funeral (I can't hear it now), already made me tear up. I was like ''really thats how the season starts''? 😅
The strike team is the more merciful option. Caitlyn is definitely being guided by revenge and hatred, but she opts for a small strike team instead of a full-scale invasion by the Enforcer's at large. It gives her control, which she wants, but it also prevents the chances for urban warfare in the undercity. It's not a good choice, but sometimes you have to choose the least worst option.
The writers did an amazing job portraying the frustration, pain and anger in Caitlyn. It is so good that it brings that feeling in myself back loosing one of my parents......I always tear up watching this episode.
So, they aren't "invading" persay. Cait is leading a small task force (strike force) down to Zhaun to complete the objectives she listed. Also Jayce made hextech weapons because he saw how useless the enforcers were without them during the attack. (Honestly, the enforcers were so useless, Silco should have just invaded last season, they probably would have won)
Don't know if you misundertood or I misunterstood you but the solution caitlyn proposes isn't a full on invasion and definitely not as bad. Vi told Cait to stop them from invading and the only viable solution was to have a small strike team to strategically go to Zaun and do the three things they think are the best for zaun and piltover. If it was a full on invasion with innocents dying Vi wouldn't have accepted. You can guess Cait found something with the key left from her mother that made her think they can do it. And yeah Jayce ''betrayed'' Viktor and himself but at some point you have to think about what other options you've got. He made the weapons but just for the strike team lead by Cait who he can trust,. It's not as if he made weapons for everbody. Anyways, great reactions and hope you're enjoying the rest of Arcane, can't wait!
In the opening 5 minutes, The only other colour that caitlyn other than black and white is Violet (Vi), There are so many little touches they put in when the animated that scene.
I just binged both seasons of arcane over the weekend and I’m obsessed and I already binged your season 1 videos so I’m so ready for season 2. ALSO, I LOVE the Jinx pfp it’s soo cute!!
In this episode, Caitlyn swears never to go on any more rogue missions, Vi swears never to put on that uniform, Jayce swears never to make more weapons, and Mel swears never to send Enforcers armed with Hextech into the undercity... Then the memorial attack happens, and all four of them go back on their word Really, Jayce and Mel as councilors could have put a stop to Cait's plan and been like "NOPE you are not going to war, young lady, you are going to THERAPY." But because of their own fear, she was instead handed a gun and sent off to hunt down her mother's killer. It's very sad 😢 (This is not me trying to lay all blame on them or whatever, btw. It just has struck me that Caitlyn is, in a different but parallel way to Jinx, someone that the heads of Piltover should have been PROTECTING but failed to for their own reasons)
This show does an amazing job showing the complexities of human emotion and short sightedness. There are only moral grey areas at this point. To quote the late/great Douglas Adams in his series Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy....People are a Problem. In truth there are seldom ANY issues whether things are perfectly Black and White. Finding the "lighter" shades of grey are always a challenge and require calm and rational thought....calm/rational are most often hard for us humans...rapid emotional reaction is more our style (and there-in lies the problem). Thanks for the continued reaction. Peace.
31:17 _"Viktor's going to be so disappointed when he wakes up"_ I mean.... Why could Viktor possibly be disappointed in Jayce? He only told Jayce to destroy the Hex Core only for Jayce to stuff it into him like he's a damned Christmas turkey. 😅😅
@@sailorkaylaxViktor was almost right when he said 'in the pursuit of great, we've failed to do good'. What he should have said is 'in the pursuit of survival, we failed to deserve it'.
Hi Sailor, you are right that using the Hextech as a weapon is not the answer but Zaun still uses the Shimmer and Jinx still has the Hextech gem with her which means two important force multipliers, no matter how many numbers you put on one side of the Hexteck and the Shimmer are very unbalancing weapons. We can see that what remains of the council is paralyzed but if from their point of view by relaxing the pressure and opening up to dialogue by signing the Silco letter this happened to them, what changes if they press? Zaun has no leader and it seems like Silco, more than a leader, was actually a containment dam. Vi is going to fight again but I don't think this time she will put on the badge, for Piltover but rather for Caytlin, there is enormous guilt in the two of them who assume it as their own. It is not an exaggeration to blame herself. Caytlin had three opportunities to stop Jinx and stopped because Vi restrained her. That's why when I thought about the three faces, Cassandra the wind was blowing in the mill, Jinx the bells were ringing and the wind seemed like a storm and when I saw Vi the blades closed there was no longer any wind or bells. The entire first season wanting to show his own merits for following Jayce and Victor's example and failing. his life loses colors. What is Caytlin going to do with Vi? Their relationship has been gray since episode 8 and Jinx throws it back on the board by kidnapping her. How could the Piltoriana think that it is not a personal war?
Little late, but just wanted to say so excited for season 2 reactions. I don't know how far ahead on patreon you are on. Personal note, I think they definitely take the route of "show, don't tell" and lot more this season. Which as an artistic and story telling approach has it's pro's and cons. I don't comment too much except for end of each act, but there's a lot more cool visuals they do behind the scenes and easter eggs they drop for world building. Mainly league fans will notice them but we will happily provide them as you go. I think I saw someone mention it, but the funeral opening was made all with real characol. I don't know how they did it, but it's really cool. Also you can see Caitlyn's family lineage and how the first painting is from Ionia, which is freaking cool.
Yes silco was aiming at vi because vi was making jinx go crazy mentioning all the people of the voices jinx hears in her head. Then instinctively jinx shot the threat which happened to be silco. She didnt mean to do it

@@sailorkaylaxAbsolutely not, under no circumstance. It's nothing like the show. It's just all the character biographies, descriptions, and lore external to the game that's always been around that some players really get into. Really early players would remember the Journals of Justice, an in universe news publication that riot would release regularly until they cancelled it. It was great while it lasted. But Vi has always been THE piltover enforcer lol.
You sound like Vander and Heimerdinger 😂 both only kept mentioning what not to do, but neither brought solutions. It's why Sevika betrayed Vander for Silco, and why Jayce petitioned for Heimerdinger to be voted off the council. "Heavy is the crown" is such a fitting title, not easy being the one having to make these decisions/find solutions.
@@haneulJang-zy9jk Vander made a deal with the very same enforcers who killed Vi and Powders parents. The enforcers became even more aggressive, by attacking innocents. @@Ghost-Mom Silco made a deal with Marcus an enforcer who were the same group of people who killed Vi's and Powder's parents except his was so much more worse and selfish. He made a deal to take over from Vander with all that talk of fighting for Zaun. In those years that went by, what did he do? He pays enforcers to kill Zaunites(firelights), do his dirty work of spreading a drug to others including his own people, conducting experiments on them and basically adding more problems to an already struggling community. He's a hypocrite. Vander's deal protected everyone, "you stay out of my streets I'll stay out of yours". With the guilt of the failed revolution, he knew violence cause loss of people and the weaker party(Zaun) loses the most. His deal probably worked for the most part until the stealing of the gemstone.
