I once read an article that potatoes that are green in color contain poison.. now I never choose potatoes with green color when I buy them in the supermarket.
the grower made a mistake and let them be exposed to sun. you can peel away all green. i believe they get some scopolamine from sun, like the leaves which are also not edible

Me too! In my countr, relatively cancer is not a concern. Culturally, potatoes and tomatoes are highly consumed. Like the comments here, it is the chemical used as pesticide affects the vegetables specified above.
Potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers and tobacco are all nightshades. They contain a variety of oxalates and lectins. Not only likely carcinogens but contribute to arthritis. Pesticides and herbicides contribute to gut disorders… you know … SIBO, celiac, leaky gut. Things like glyphosate are not only endocrine disrupting but are antibiotic in the big picture. Most soils around the world but especially in the USA are depleted of iodine which is major impact on the thyroid. We put fluoride in our municipal drinking water and that further depletes iodine. Well water is not necessarily safe of fluoride either. Check with your state offices.
Lot of green vegetables have oxylate that can ruin our health. So everythings must be use or eat in moderation to have a balance diet. Yes it is hard to do.

The health virtues of both vegetables and or fruits are purely commercial based. Fruits were grown abundantly in areas where neglected people live but not eaten by the indiginous (heard a long time ago from a nurse assigned in a remote area) where vegetables were considered low income family's food. Now food shortage is compensated by artificial chemical fertilizers, farming, plowing by indigenous difficult, unless having big machineries. So, personally, mixing the available food is good for ecological food, which is not enough and expensive.

Not true. A lot of vegetables (I think broccoli is one) are man made. Plus, our dirt no longer has nutrients, most have glysophate sprayed on them and are bad for us because of all the spraying, etc. Only eat organic for the best outcome.

Cassava upsets my stomach badly when I eat it even when it's cooked.I avoid as much as possible. I think l have an allergy to cassava. Maybe it's the cyanide in cassava that upsets my stomachache.

I haven't had a vegetable since July 2023, except an occasional cucumber. I read recently that batches of cucumbers in several states were being recalled. Ugh. No more for me unless I grow them myself.

People have been eating these vegetarian years!!! Have you just found out that they are not good for human consumption?! In Africa, food is cooked for over an hour, especially the root vegetables, and are eaten fresh. They are picked on the same day and eaten on the same day. We don't keep food for ages in fridges.
Don't eat anything, you might die :)) . Now, the serious part, basically eat things in moderation,also be careful when you pick the product to eat( like sprouting potatoes) . This is what I understood. It's not wrong, diversify what you eat, don't eat only one thing obsessively. You have to be a maniac to only eat potatoes or just radishes and so on. Nobody does that ( I...hope). Home cooked food is the best, you know what it contains, can't say the same when eating out.
