Reflect daily
Focus on what you can influence
Accept the present
Trust your intuition
Do not complain, criticize, judge or worry
Do not hold grudges or resentment from the past
Do not look for outside validation
Do not shun help or support

😊
That's all I got too - only 12.
I’m a stoic and I loved your video because it verified to me how I feel about life. You are a treasure, don’t know how you how the time to guide us daily. Thank you, you are valued by so many of us oldies!
Stoicism reminds me a little of one of the sayings in the book of Alcoholics Anonymous about accepting life on life's terms.
I’ve worked many years with 12 step programs… yes many things said in this video can be related to the A. A. Big book.
I found this so interesting. I've heard of stoicism and that's about all. Listening to you talk about these 14 wisdoms, I realized that this is what I strive towards. A few are challenging for me, such as not holding grudges, or being judgmental but I'm a work in progress. Onward and upward! Thank you, Margaret 💜
You will be amazed how you will physically feel once you stop judging others and stop holding grudges. Releasing those two negative energies is Freedom.
One of my aunts and her family gossip and judge everyone in the rest of the family.
I’m 71 and at an early age decided to not associate with any of them. I only see them at funerals.
I love this video.
I’ve been practicing stoic living for many ,many years. It does make a difference in one’s health and outcomes of situations.
I turn negative statements from others into positive statements.
For over 35 years I worked with 12 Step Programs. The steps work when worked.
I wasn’t bothered when I finally got brave enough to leave an emotional abusive 20 year marriage. I knew the finances would be tight but that really wasn’t anything new to me. After I was divorced I no longer needed to worry if a hot check had been written somewhere.
Negative energy is so harmful.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wisdoms.

Thank you so much Peggy for your beautiful, beautiful words and very thoughtful feedback. I’m glad you made the best of your situation and we’re brave enough to leave on your terms. Wishing you all the best.
I’m a born again believer in Jesus Christ. These principles however seem biblical 😊
I would add: fear the Lord, thank Him for his son Jesus who paid for our debt and gives his children everlasting life.
I was cultivating stocism without knowing. One of the hardest for me has been: do not shun help or support. By accepting it I discovered who my true friends were and how little I could expect from family members. Great video.
Thanks for sharing!
Good Tuesday 🌄 morning, Margaret. The most important 🕜🕐❤one to me 🌼 is gratefulness🎉🎉
I like all these, they totally remind me of a lot of Eastern teachings. For me, I have to go through all the natural emotional responses, and then I can start to work toward these philosophies. I think it's perfectly fine to have initial upset, angry, fearful emotions to things. I guess it's when we can't work thru those initial feelings that it could start to work against our well being.
This guidance goes so well with my own Buddhist practices. Wisdom for living in the now, with gratitude and letting so and not focusing on what you want it to be (or don't want it to be), but what is. Thanks, Margaret.
Thank you Margaret for what you do. I’m in Tenerife since June 22 and am looking to buy a flat here in Los Cristianos. You talk about Stoicism has been helpful during these big life changes for me-
Wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing. Hope you find a flat or you love.

6:51 Thanks for your accompanying me during this unexpected time. I have 3 grown up children. They all got Germán citizenship so they all are gone to Europe now. The last one just left. We, my husband and I, live in Guatemala in Central América. I go and visit them almost once a year. But I'm really scared of being here and having the 3 of them with their own lives and living abroad. I don't even know how to be alone at home without feeling sorry for myself. I have to admite it. Could you maybe tal about how to lean to be without them nearby? And how to think in order to help myself?
Hi Annabelle. It’s a very difficult conversation in when I can answer and a reply like this. If you look on our website, we have done so many articles on this topic of living alone without family nearby and I think it’s simply a matter of finding yourself. Determining the things make you happy. The projects you like to do. The hobbies and friends you want to associate with That starting point you will always fall in need of their presence in your life. I hope that you find a way through it.
Beautifully summed up. Gratitude from Canada 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you, Margaret!
I am a stoic. I try to live life one day at a time and accept the things I cannot change and I certainly do not hold grudges. I'm very grateful for the things and people in my life. The area however I do need to practice is worrying about finances. My husband passed 2 years ago causing a huge gap in income. I kept up with all I could and 19 months later I was granted his SS income. Came as a total surprise as I had been told due to my retirement I could not get his. What a blessing that was. God is good. Thank you for bringing this subject up. Blessings to you from Texas.
