    Hey guys, very important detail 13:29. Use YELLOW teflon tape! Yellow tape is for gas! Don't use white tape! White tape is for water! Great video!

    Dang nice build, sir. I like this option because my 200 year old house doesn't have a circuit in a usable area that will support my welder without blowing the breaker. Man, I need to figure out a way to upgrade my electrical system, but I need to jack up and level the house first. This "no welding" option will allow me to build a forge. Thanks for sharing.

    Great idea. I tried to get an estimate together of the parts needed and cost - gets close to $100.00 not including finding a surplus water tank. I found the Ceramic Wool on Etsy for $11.00, most of the other prices were Home Depot.

    Loved the video. When i get some money im deffinetly gonna build one. But, one small tip, when working with rotary tools (angle grinder, drill press, ect.) don't wear gloves and don't have long sleves. They can get caught and pull your extremities into the tool. Have a good day. :)

    Love seeing varied projects from you. What you think about a door on the forge? The opening and heat probably don't make it necessary for optimal heat. I think of the loss of heat but don't know enough to understand the temperatures and what you're aiming for in there.

    Nice but I learned in my first one. The burner nozzle is everything. Stainless insert for forge than burner housing. That galvanized or black iron get white hot it'll just start to crumble and effect the combustion. Your their though. Forge welding temps easy in her.

      Refractory Cement keeps heat well
      If you do not use high-temperature cement your forge will reduce its lifetime by half,

      in places where the soil consists of clay it is better to use clay, clay is super heat resistant and for free

    • @clydeulmer4484
      @clydeulmer4484 5 років тому +4

      @@ltjuglans194 Eh, no... The thermal cycling of the forge will quickly crack the clay, which will then fall off. Refractory cements are engineered to take the thermal cycling in stride.

    • @baildude12
      @baildude12 5 років тому +1

      It's pretty common to use in a propane forge. It helps insulate the interior so the heat is reflected around the inside of the forge to heat quicker and be more efficient.
      The reason the refractory cement is then applied is to keep the carcinogenic compounds from forming more or less and to keep any fibers from escaping into the air
