That was my dad who let you into the diner at the museum in Clinton! He told us all about your UA-cam channel. I'm from Weatherford, the "Back to the Future" town. Glad you enjoyed driving through! :)
My Son and me really enjoy rt 66 over and over, we would really LOVE to see you do a series on small town carnivals and celebration tour on rt 66, I think everybody would enjoy seeing how different towns in different states celebrate. Thumbs Up ???
You mentioned seeing many OK used cars signs along the route. So, Here's a little history behind those. The OK Used Cars brand, Chevy's used-car trade-in division, started in the mid-1920s. The "famous red O.K. tag system," as one 1928 newspaper ad called it, was a checklist that showed what parts of the car had been checked and reconditioned prior to throwing it out on the lot. "Developed by the Chevrolet Motor Company to protect the used car buyer ... we attach a tag to the radiator caps of all our reconditioned cars, the famous Chevrolet Red O.K. tag--showing exactly what vital units have been checked O.K. or reconditioned by our expert mechanics. We believe that no fairer system of used car merchandising has ever been worked out--for it assured the customer honest value as well as a dependable, satisfactory car." And there You have it, a little history, or even PRE history of that signage.
i took my route 66 trip last year because of you and Adam the Woo. Let me make a comment. For the last year or so, youve been pretty good on your videos, but youve taken this trip on route 66 and with your talents you have raised the bar. Youre on a whole other level now. A for real entertainer. good job. i live in kansas, wish i could get down to that SE corner when you get there. thanks for the vids
Absolutely hilarious ending Justin! Well done
I recently discovered your videos... and now, of course, they have become an obsession. I am going to have to binge watch a LOT of videos thanks to you, Justin! Seriously though, you have great talent and a gift. For those of us who enjoy the weird, the unusual, roadside oddities, random and cool stuff... thank you!
AWESOME video! love that propeller!
I grew up near Clinton and surprisingly i have not been to the museum there, ive got to go now. Loving these videos
The mention of Garth Brooks made me so happy!!!!!
I've been in one of those valentine Diners in PA in the AACA Museum. They are very nice there and explained the whole thing there was like one table and five stools
Yet another epic vlog, you put so much research and energy into your work" I'm learnin." and you managed to get 32 "route 66's" into todays episode. Rest well Justin, looking forward to your next one.
Doing a great job. This adventure is so much fun!
Justin, I don't know if you're an opera going guy, but if you ever get a chance to see Ricky Ian Gordon's The Grapes of Wrath, get on a plane and go to whatever city in the country it's playing, it's the greatest opera written in the last decade in my opinion and it's heavily inspired by the great American musicals. I worked as a volunteer backstage during its run at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and it's incredibly true to the book. The best part is when the Joad family sings "Plenty Road". which is all about Route 66 and California, the land of plenty!
Love these videos Justin, thank so much for sharing them ❤️ 🇺🇸
This series on Route 66 has been fantastic! Thanks Justin!
I had a dream that I met you at this amazing beach point idk where nd you were the coolest person ever and so humble... and then your video notification woke me up.! Cool enough for me.! you're amazing justin!!!
I like candidate's scarred's platform on his ability to buy a hotel room for $24... definitely earned my vote!
Justin, you changed my attitude towards learning about history. I hope more people find you and your channel, you make learning fun! Thanks for all the time and effort you out into your vids.! 🤙🏼
Now I've got to get to Oklahoma. You are really going to have me busy! You make everything interesting.
El Reno is famous for my family too, not because of Route 66, but that is where my Dad was born.
you've got my vote Justin!
that was a great owen wilson impression in the intro!
Interesting...had to go learn more about Lucille Hamons after you introduced her. She wrote her memoirs at the encouragement of her daughter and called it-you guessed it-Mother of The Mother Road. Now I have to find it and read it!!
Justin Scarred for president 2020, also, you were a boy scout? Me too!
According to my friends at Pixar, Sally in Cars is based on Dawn the owner of the Rock Cafe' in Stroud OK on Rt 66.
Other locations claim the fame, but the Pixar folks say it's Dawn.
Justin I tell you this in every video, but I love you Justin!
if you ever find yourself in Louisiana I highly recommend visiting Baton Rouge for the "Capital Park Museum." the third floor is a map of all of Louisiana and they have an entire section on the music history there.
I've been to a small town once on the way to another city and there was 2 BLADES!
I love these videos! I want to do a route 66 trip in September.

Keep doing what you do! 💪🏼
Hope your having fun Thank you for doing this. I'm on vacation for 5 days, so hopefully you will do a meetup in Chicago.
Like the reference to Don Mclean's "American Pie"!
I would love it if someone would restore all of the existing Valentine Diners and reopen them!
It IS hard to get people to read in 2017! I agree. Well, I'll give it a shot! I thought you didn't want to mention the book because you believed the book wasn't as good as the movie! Since you *didn't* say that I'm all for it!
That must be so cool to go visit that museum when you've already been tot he real-life places!Oklahoma looks so cozy! Definitely on my bucketlist (along with so many more thanks to these videos!)
WHAT 24 dollars?! For that room?! Geez Louise! Struck gold there. That giggle/laugh reminded me of Mozart from the movie Amadeus hahah.
Another great upload, thank you so much for taking us with you on this trip!
Mills have been used for a long time to move stuff and harness energy before electricity

Justin's bathroom bag is the same age as me😂😂😂
I was waitin for steam to come outta of his ears. Very funny! Great vid. Get some rest Justin. Keep having fun
I have a feeling that you cross from one state to another in just 1 day. Is it possible Justin that you cover 1 state per day?
You are so funny and make me laugh so much 😂🤣
Anyone notice the Valentine Diner was near railroad tracks? No wonder they where transported by train.
Funny that that place is called The Crossroads of America. That's the state motto of Indiana.
Ooh Justin! u make me laugh every time!
Forgot you have to be careful about making your food as well as gluten free may not be so after cooking in a regular oven, toaster, etc. Thanks for covering our Great State of Oklahoma! Your OK!!
A hog oiler is a device hogs could rub up against it would dispense oil to "help provide relief from insects and offer skin protection".
I love The Grapes of Wrath book! I haven't seen the movie yet, mostly because I'm kind of afraid I won't like what they've had to edit for the screen. Adaptations aren't always perfect. I think the closest one to the book is Gone With the Wind
id love to meet you when you come thru missouri
haha very cool!! and awesome!
You are entertaining. Corny at times, but that works. I have to say, the biggest smile was the "Pew Pew Pew" in the church. Very funny.

I do believe you'll be going through Sapulpa Oklahoma pretty cool little town owned by I'm not for sure what tribe but the chief people couldn't pronounce his real name so they just called him Sapulpa have a cool little Museum there too
The ending was so funny!!! Hahahahahahah
Hey Justin. If i wanted to learn more about the dustbowl/the Okies, what should I watch? The Grapes Of Wrath or is there a documentary or something that's better?
Ken burns does a good dust bowl documentary and there are others, just search. I have several of the dvds and books from that Era. Such a sad and devastating time. I'm from oklahoma and lived in the panhandle a short time. My sister has lived there 45 years.
if you run I will be there to vote for ya.
The ball hog oiler was used to oil hogs. Seriously, the hogs would rub up against it to disperse the oil over their skin which would protect them from bothersome insects.
wow! you made it to oklahoma already? jelous right here.... i was just in poor old boring laguna beach today =P just kidding about the boring part. i work there. i consider myself lucky for that. congrats on your travels!
hahaha the salsa!
