I live in China, and my Chinese friends here always complain about European Made-in-China cars. Generally, rich people buy imported ones, cuz they don't rely on made-in-china versions.
Actually one of the problem is that people don’t use original parts or don’t buy spare parts or accessories from brand stores or authorized sellers. For example, I got a friend, who has a Mercedes, bought a rear camera from internet and installed it to her car. Later then the system broke down. I own a 2013 VW Phaeton 3.0 TDI (240/500) and love the thing! Luxury and the soft ride, the engine does very well for its size and weight. I am very very happy with it!
It seems in China the buyer of C and E classes as well as the 3 and 5 series are being chauffeured, sitting in rear seats. This also the same in many asian countries. Long wheel base version are very good idea in those markets
Same with the number 4 where I grew up, Hong Kong. In cantonese, death (sei2) sounds very similar to the number 4 (sei3) (the pinyin is spelt the exact same way, only tones are different). As a result many buildings skip the 4th floor so go either as - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 - OR - 1, 2, 3, 3A, 5, 6. The most desirable number plates in Hong Kong end in 8 because it means wealth and luck and the least desirable is obviously 4
C'mon just have some faith in this new brand. Look it is cheap and that's what I care about and it looks luxurious. I know it is going to take some time to make it better but just realise how good this thing could be. I would prefer this above a DS SUV.
Those Volkswagens from begining too and that Electric XC90 copy-paste for 40.000euro.. Damn i might just go there to get my next car and bring it to Europe.. the Chinese market is so dope ! (>_< )
I could see the point of the LWB versions. Modern cars have gotten so wide and having the room in length but not worrying so much about your mirrors all the time would have some appeal.
just wanna say some thoughts about long-wheelbase car in china. for the most familly, they can only afford one car in the whole familly. Plus, cuz of the One-child policy, they have to take care of the parents( usually the old genaration cant afford a car) on their own. which means, there`re like 5 people in one car: parents, grandparents, kid. thats one of the reasons that the chinese buy long wheelbase cars.
@@poorfection1086 SUV maybe, but MPV definitly no. cuz they want car that is not like a "baby sitting car". and honestly, the rear seat of a full size SUV like X7 Q8, they have even smaller room than a BMW 5er L. SUV`s advantage is tall, not long.
In fact, it is very difficult to buy a car in China. The same car, such as Toyota alphard, is priced at 800,000 RMB in Chinese mainland. But it only sells for 300,000 RMB in Hong Kong. All cheap cars abroad will increase in price in China, and they are much more expensive
CTO Information yeah but those car models are twice or more as expensive over there as in the west for basically the same thing. They’re actually jealous of us.
the concept of an "executive" passenger seat is so underrated ! many people rather sit besides the driver to have a conversation if it's a couple or to rest and swap later on a long trip. Clever Tech.
They along with India get the LWB E Class, I’m so jealous of that I have to stick with my regular E220d, the E Class is legit perfect in between the C Class and the S Class.

in Europe --> BMW 7 Series Long WheelBase . In China it becomes - BMW 7 series LONG LONG WheelBase )))
also --> ES6 comes with little R2D2 .... starwar fans gonna love this car ... and if u can configurate it , they will change the activation command to HEY R2D2 hahaha
that be epic
7:50 that pink/purple gm van tho
That robot is the most adorable and incredible thing on a car
I own a 2013 VW Phaeton 3.0 TDI (240/500) and love the thing! Luxury and the soft ride, the engine does very well for its size and weight. I am very very happy with it!
Hey Matt, loving the show, I go to China at least once a year, its great to see about the cars in China, can we please have more please.
Wow! China's doing better than I thought! By the way I'd actuallu consider the Nio, they seem alright
Not that much for me.They still cant make everyone in asia and europe amaze to their cars.
@@capybaravangogh7427 because the rest of Asia still doesn't trust China in the automobile industry. I don't plan in the long run either.
LHAutomotive I’d too if I weren’t afraid of lead poisoning.
Yeah, they are very good at stealing.
Consider their automotive industry just started like 20 years ago
I'm a year-and-a-half late watching this video, but the Chinese vehicles are VERY impressive! I love the personal assistant in the NIO 😊
It seems in China the buyer of C and E classes as well as the 3 and 5 series are being chauffeured, sitting in rear seats. This also the same in many asian countries. Long wheel base version are very good idea in those markets
That Range Rover with a half vip at the back 😍😍😍
Dreamy!
@@carwow What company builds those ?
All about long wheelbase cars.
6:29 Lucas Ass😂😂 7:15 It felt like Mat was going to vomit😂😂😂.
Well, the ES6 and the Lu sheng ONE were awesome.
13:10 omg! I love that detail 👌 haha
11:30 , are you trying to tell us something?
Same with the number 4 where I grew up, Hong Kong. In cantonese, death (sei2) sounds very similar to the number 4 (sei3) (the pinyin is spelt the exact same way, only tones are different). As a result many buildings skip the 4th floor so go either as - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 - OR - 1, 2, 3, 3A, 5, 6. The most desirable number plates in Hong Kong end in 8 because it means wealth and luck and the least desirable is obviously 4
That white SUV that cost 40K needs to come to Europe. OMG for a FIRST try it looks absolutely GORGEOUS😍
It cost 40k because it doesnt have Tax cause it's an EV
llias nord - it's most probably a death trap, most Chinese cars can't pass Eurocap tests.
@@mrafeht They will probably do their best if they want to sell it in Europe or in America you know.
@@IA21 - Do their best to kill us all.
C'mon just have some faith in this new brand. Look it is cheap and that's what I care about and it looks luxurious. I know it is going to take some time to make it better but just realise how good this thing could be. I would prefer this above a DS SUV.
Time to move to china
You'll have to try and get there before Mat!
Ayy I watch your videos. Glad to see you here.
Why?
@@MatrixDiscovery you got my eye to ask why.... I just reliyse that I put a lot y... for the eye.
the Phaeton got updated back again, it's a shame that we don't get it
But this time it is not a cheap Bentley but a rebadged Audi.
Phideon, not Phateon.
Abay Amangali it’s a overpriced piece of shit
WeddingS Kenan I know, if i would’ve bought a new car, I would’ve got a small Audi Hatchback. Like the Audi A1 Sportback
meh, if i look at that interior it just looks slightly cheaper then the original phaeton to be honest.
“正在打开遮阳帘”,一股高德味儿😂
小德的那个声音有时候是真的受不了啊哈哈哈
路虎(land Rover) actually means tiger of the road in Chinese (I guess it is applicable to the driver of those enormous SUVs)
These are so unheard of!... Chinnese have very different things 😱
VW atlas and Phaeton are official carsof Chinese govt, like Innova and fortuner in India.
Like a 6 days work week
@@esterparada9930 😂 and a faster growing economy 💅
Depends. This car shows in China are about boasting. The cars normal chinese people drive get no attention there.
The new car he showed is just a mixture of all car brands lmao
every car is a mixture of every brand
The english man: What car did you buy?
The chinese man: "what a what!!!😮"
The english man:"which one?"😲
The chinese man:"S90 long base"😉😎
FYI, The "special badge" on the long wheel base model of MB C class and E class means "Long" in Chinese.
As an '03 Phaeton owner myself, from Latvia i own a W12 4 seater. 6.0 petrol , im jast love this car its superb to drive thanks for the videos
I want the Nio es6 to be seld in the UK
seld? rly nigga?
you can send a email to nio to suggest them
SAME!
Lyubomir Georgiev yuo are racist
Another entertaining car review Matt. I look forward to your reviews daily keep up the great work. No.1
I think the ES6 would be great in Europe
Those Volkswagens from begining too and that Electric XC90 copy-paste for 40.000euro..
Damn i might just go there to get my next car and bring it to Europe.. the Chinese market is so dope ! (>_< )
The Teremont is also available in the US but its called the Atlas
I could see the point of the LWB versions. Modern cars have gotten so wide and having the room in length but not worrying so much about your mirrors all the time would have some appeal.
Old Pheaton: Bentley with a VW-Logo
New Pheaton: just a bigger A6
0:17 - _"They don't use the supercharged V6 in their more modern cars"_
I believe this may have something to do with emissions?
they just use old tech, cheaper material with same appearance.
The sedan version of the 1 Series actually looks good
Also the A series
No
@@MrFwlger yes
That ES6 is something else 😳😳
The Teramont is the Atlas. It was originally made for the US Market.
Lets start a fundraiser so Matt can start his own car company :D
just wanna say some thoughts about long-wheelbase car in china.
for the most familly, they can only afford one car in the whole familly. Plus, cuz of the One-child policy, they have to take care of the parents( usually the old genaration cant afford a car) on their own.
which means, there`re like 5 people in one car: parents, grandparents, kid.
thats one of the reasons that the chinese buy long wheelbase cars.
Long wheelbase only gets you more legroom. On average, Chinese people aren't that tall, so the regular cars would be fine.
Exactly, even something like a VW Polo gives you 5 seats for 5 passengers, I don't see how you would need any more
Where do they sit? In the foot well? Chinese aren't even that small. L version isn't an MPV. But hey, China is mad in its own glorious way so...
Well I don’t think that’s the reason, if that’s true then they would get a suv or mpv. It’s probably because Chinese like things to be larger lol
Release it in europe with W12
Old ones had it 😂
We have some NIO ES8 in Munich, because the Design Studio is in Munich. They all have Diplomat registrations
6:56 Mat’s eyes
Matt Watson suddenly moves to China after this video 🤷🤷🤷
It might happen...
he replied !!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ***KING WOO!!
@@carwow
It won’t happen cuz he can’t find an abandoned airport here in China for his drag race lel
damn Chinese just got all the special treatment. jealous!
Holy crap that long range rover... AND it's made in the US??? I wonder what the factory workers must think about that car.
I kind of like that last car
Theat Volvo XC90/ Cadillac XT6 looking SUV would be great in the U.S.!
You should make a long wheelbase version of this video
In China it’s quite common to hire a chauffeur. That’s why they have space, Tablets and more controls in the back seats
