I have a set of these in my SUV, love them when they work, first set both the 6.5 mid stopped working for no apparent reason. Replaced them with a new set and already one of them have stopped working, have had them for less then 6 months and they were installed by a JL Audio authorized installer.
Thank you for reaching out and we apologize for the delayed response. Please reach out to our tech department, as they will certainly be able to troubleshoot with you. jlaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Had the same exact problem c3-650’s professionally installed one blew out they replaced it then the other blew out they replaced it then they both blew out again & tried to get me to purchase new ones for $600.00 (FUCK THAT SHIT) I replaced them with HERTZ 6 1/2’s much better speakers. Don’t even bother with JL’s tech department spoke with a guy named Lee & he tells you how good his product is & there has to be a problem on my end (with my car or something) typical Shit you know sell you there product take your money & then your on your own. Just like the Snap-on tool truck!
Howie, thank you for reaching out and our apologies for the delay. As we recommend an amplifier power of 25W-150W for the c3 650 and C5-650, yes that would work for your setup.
Sean, thank you for reaching out! Our tech team will certainly be able to assist you with a potential system upgrade. Please submit a help ticket to our tech support team here: jlaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I have 2 pair of the 6" sets. They sound good but so far, 2 Crossovers went bad, 1 woofer failed and 2 of the plastic aluminum covers have fallen off. Not pleased with the apparent lack quality of these
Looking for some JL audio. I am looking at c2 / c3. I currently have pioneer 80prs HU, (2) 12' Polk subs, with Polk amp. I'm looking on getting another amp for internal speakers. Which is better c2 or c3?
@@JLAudioInc 150 vs 225 aren’t the c2 higher handling? Also higher sensitivity.. So you’re saying c2 won’t play as loud but they sound better? If I plan on biamping with 100w x 4 would you recommend c2 or 3 for sq you have me leaning c2 thanks
I have the jx 400/4D it's plenty of power to push them without over doing it. When you put way too much or too little power to the speakers and don't adjust the gains properly is when you blow them.
@d-vela34 the reason I recommend that amp @ 4 ohms it puts out 100 Watts x 4 RMS that's 400 Watts total at 14.4 volts. The c3's can take 75 Watts RMS that's only 15 Watts more per speaker. If you set gain properly you should be good.
Thanks for the inquiry! There is a 6x9 in each door (front and back) along with two 3/4” tweeters in the corner dash locations. You could use two sets of the C3-650. Leaving the rears in the coaxial configuration and the fronts in the component configuration with the tweeter in the corner dash and the drivers in the door locations.
I had a set of these installed in my van. They are SUPER Bright!! Very annoying to listen to at high volume. I have a 13 band EQ and adjusted the pins on the crossover. It still sounds horribly Bright!! I do not like them at all.
How exactly are you gonna do that? These have to be installed into something! you cant just pull them out of a box like home audio and hear them. How you install them makes a massive difference to the sound. So you are never gonna know unless you hear them in your car. I mean I would LOVE to do a JL, MB Quart, Apline, Focal shoutout but how is that going to be possible? Ideas please.
My mind is still coming to grips with what I hear now and how many years of subpar audio I experienced.
We know the feeling!
Just installed these and I'm in love
Excellent. We appreciate the kind words, Tanner!

Hello, the C2 are a bit more natural sounding over all. The C3 are voice louder over all and handle a bit more power if you prefer.
c2s sound really good, do not get loud enough for me. i have louder speakers in the front. c2s in rear. provides excellent fill. i cannot speak on c3s
