I just find this beautiful that multiple styles can come together and trying together out of respect and there's no disrespect everybody has respect and we can all learn from each other from this video

Krabi Krabong is a weapons-based martial art originating in Thailand. It began with the Siamese military and was used by warriors on the battlefield, often alongside Muay Boran. Warriors fought for survival, thus combat techniques at the time were especially deadly, utilizing spears, swords, knives and arrows.
When unarmed, Krabi Krabong employs a variety of strikes, locks, holds, kicks and throws as well. If weapons broke for example, battle would resume using these deadly unarmed techniques. Krabi Krabong is therefore not merely some weapons exhibition, but rather a complete battlefield art teaching principles of deadly combat. It can further be applied to everyday self-defense, using everyday objects as weapons.

Sabre, not rapier. Sabres are shorter, cut oriented swords, while rapiers were longer (sometimes up to 50 inches) and thrust oriented, but they could still cut.

Extremely interesting video! However, to call that a rapier is a sin for the historical fencing community hahahaha. Sorry for the correction, but that is actually a sabre. Very interesting video again.

Thai dub sword are pretty small. In a sword fight it really depends on the experience of the warrior

Thai sword was integrated with Muay Thai movement and strike, the style use for very fast movement not so slow like in this clip

They get pretty long as well. These swords had been influenced by foreign swords like the katana and to a small extent shamshir. Ayuthaya was relatively diverse at the time with traders and settlers from around the world. We have a long history with japan

      @@boxing.ascetic huh really?
I didn't know or my knowledge was obsoleted. If I read with my eyes this should be Dāb or daab because of vowel result will be
      D stand for do-dek ด
A stand for sa-ra = vowel for this case I use ā that stand for sa-ra-ar or ar า
B stand for bo-bai-maeye(read together) บ that is match with ดาบ in thai
If you using dap as p will result in ดาป or ดาพ that's stand for por-pla, por parn, that's feel strange a bit for me but It can read the same voice

@@excrist1274 Yeah for me i prefer using Daab or Dab (ดาบ) rather than Dap (ดาป) because it sound weird when you are actually using it also most of the time people here try romanizing thai word the results are prettty wack

The dual sword fighter could do with more practice moving his body more then fancy spins and moves, when you're against someone who focuses on thrusting its better to side step or move backward and circle around them more until a opportunity to strike, when you see guys that been practicing krabi they focused on movement first then movement and striking

The arena is too big the saber & shield is backing up for most of the fight and just counter slashing this doesn't properly show the strengths of either practitioner not saying backing up isn't a legit strategy but it's just not a even fight if one guy isn't being aggressive at all the the other one has to compensate by being overly aggressive tho over all a pretty fun fight to watch

Почему бы и нет? Главная задача бойца, это остаться в живых. Можно хоть сколько отступать. При этом противник будет терять силы и иметь возможность быть внезапно заколотым при контратаке.

It’s not so common to see a warrior with both his hand using swords in ancient Thai war history (exclude recruits, volunteers and non-regular units) (but elite trained troops and suicidal zapper do use them), they were using spears, one hand sword, one hand sword with shield. Yes they used shield, it just became useless very quickly because of “guns”. From what I researched from “Google” xD… Only elites and suicidal zapper were using two swords together, they required skills and strong arms to use one of the two as a shield against enemy blade

This is hilarious. Just another kid using anime profile lying on bed rushing their hands on keyboard eh? I can use katana pretty decent and let me tell you what I'd a duel with a guy knows krabi-krabong. He only used one sword tho. He fucked me up real good. When It comes down to a duel it depends on the user's experience. I watched the video. He is very good at it. Waving their swords up and down really gets its enemy a hard guess. When he had his opportunity he rushed quiet fast. He'll fuck you up real good.

@@boxing.ascetic this style is Lanna. Learned on Chaing Mai. You have to adapt your style to the weapons you are fighting. Formal movements do not work well against certain thrusting weapons and styles
