  • Oil Additives Actually Cause More Wear to Your Engine, Testing Shows. Before you think about adding an oil additive to your engine, watch this video! 🚗🔧
Oil additives are often marketed as miracle products that can reduce engine wear, extend oil life, and clean out deposits. However, extensive laboratory tests and real-world analysis suggest they might do more harm than good. Join Lake Speed Jr., a former Joe Gibbs Racing lubricant specialist, as he investigates nine popular oil additives like Marvel Mystery Oil, Lucas Stabilizer, Rislone ZDDP Supplement, and Seafoam oil treatment.
Learn why these additives could shorten your oil's lifespan, increase wear, and even cause engine damage. Speed Jr. emphasizes the importance of choosing the right base oil for your engine and explains why fuel additives might be a better option for improving engine health.
    Highlights:
The impact of oil additives on viscosity and mixture balance.
Why certain additives can cause low-speed pre-ignition and corrosion.
The benefits of using fuel additives with polyetheramine for cleaning injectors.
    Key Takeaways:
Avoid using oil additives to prevent potential engine damage.
Select the correct motor oil designed for your engine's needs.
Consider using fuel additives for better engine performance.

I REALLY wished u would have included Amsoil. They "preach the gospel" on their products.

Total nonsense. I've seen countless used oil analysis with Ceratec. None of them come close to 45ppm of iron in 2500 miles. Best case, as in most cases with it, it reduces wear. Worst case, wear levels are similar to engine oil without the additive.

These products can harm the engine or transmission. Last year I lost an engine after adding Lucas engine treatment, 4th piston shot through the bottom of the engine and onto the road, fire engulfed the car. I didn't learn from my lesson, I got into a new car and last month I bought Lucas transmission slipping stop and leakage stop or something like that, immediately the transmission couldn't find the 5th and 6th, permanent damage there. All this came about because I had a small leak after fixing a new cv axle seal, I thought Lucas will help me until I buy the right Cv axle seal but Lucas said no buddy you're loosing your transmission today and I'm here to see that through! Maybe these products work on some engines but definitely not all. BTW do not trust Autozone product search/match for any of your Cv axle seals, Autozone doesn't know what they are doing, they suggested a good fit for cv axle for my vehicle, turned out it was not. Do your research even though Autozone tells you buy this one, it is for your car.

Speed is a great guy, and yes I'm against a lot of additives, most are snake oils. but there are a couple of good ones out there...lube Gard bio lube is a very proven additive by a very proven company.
The correct way to use them is at the oils half life...2500mi
Modern oils do shear as Speed has proven, so a "little" help, at the half life is a good thing, just be smart about it.
