i agree Jolene, paint the car.......black with tinted windows and flags on the front fenders. i think it would look amazing !
Nice that product has been around since 1989 and I've used it throughout the 90s it peels after 2 or 3 years
I agree with Jolene, should definitely paint it! Even if it's just a silver
I say clear coat over everything without paint , I believe he put fake chrome paint on fenders and rear bumper. I also think this build is being drawn out so maybe the building can get complicated so the next is completion of Jolene's Bugatti, then Maybe elvis or the first truck he built from large car and a model a or t that build has also been gone to long .
@@josephschaekel5293 I heard before that clear over bare steel doesn't work well, maybe it's improved now or people didn't do it right.
@@cichlid_kings The clear worked good though aside from the bit of oil from your hands?
Metallic silver would be the colour.
@@josephschaekel5293 hi
I realize that this build is for your pleasure however, would it not look best to do the back bumper as well? Chad and Jolene I really enjoy both of your work!
My favorite comedy channel, good for a laugh daily Put a whole new meaning to bumper sticker
Hated this build at first, then I started to like it, then realised I love it and now I WANT it !!!
I would love to see this car lowered. It would definitely look badass!
The car looks good. I'd suggest some horizontal park lamps between the headlights & grille.
Good idea.
The chrome strips on the bumper gives it an antique look. Hope it wears well.
Hi ., chad. I salute you from San Diego California ☀️✌🏻I always see you have a. Hard time. Whit your ground. For welding. Whi. Dont you put a magnet. So. You. Can used any where you like. To weld. Just. A. Easier way for. To You. To work 😁👌
Chad the car looks better than I thought it would. I want to say thank you cause you have taught me alot of what todo and not what todo. I really enjoy and look forward to what you are going todo next I just wish I could send you some pictures of some of cars and van that I've have done. At 77 I'm working on my 99 s10 which is going to be my last build and I hope I'm able to get it done. Again thank you for explaining what you are doing for like I said I've have learned alot from you. God bless you and your wife and have a blessed night
It needs fog lights 4” round. I would put it between the head lights and grill 6” above bumper on the flat panel.
That stuff is known in the industry as “okie chrome”
That chrome strips idea is great for us that have low budgets to work with. And it does look good !
Once again bad Chad pulls off something that no one else would even think of and pulls it off good !! That’s why you have the very very successful UA-cam channel and the rest of us just dream about what you do or at least I do !! ✌🏼🍺🐕
How good is the glue on the chrome strips? Wouldnt it start peeling off if the bumper got hot in hot weather. Ive found that the adhesive sometimes anit that good
You should do the whole car...that'd be a custom like no other ..😁.Nice one guys. 👍
Not only do you get to watch Chad fabricate but you also get a tutorial on how and why and with Jolene's expert camera work it's just like being there .Good job guys! Ontario fan
17th! Looking better that I thought at the beginning of this build. Jolene is a fantastic camera lady! Bad Chad you have a vision and you go for it, no matter what other people say or think! KUDOS! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
Whoa! Go easy on that plastic chrome stuff.
that's a nice application for the chrome strips. Makes the bumper pop. i didn't think it would. but it worked.
Want to see a real finished interior
Clearly only doing this to make a pay check. Not much interest ing here anymore
That chrome looks cheap and tacky
Must be something really wrong with the Bugatti no mention of finishing it anymore.
Those chrome plastic strips look good in the video. Be interesting to see how it holds up.
One rain
@@lukasgarage956 The rain won't move 3M glue it is really good. BUTT -- the outside won't take very much at all.
Chrome tape has its uses, but on the front of a custom car? I thought it was fine on the truck, but not this. I’d use chrome vinyl wrap before I did this.
Yeah. I enjoy Jim videos for showing us we can do stuff as he shows the average guy can accomplish something.
I just love watching Chad produce his cars, also blown away by Jolene's camera work. But his folksy wisdom peppering his videos are little diamonds to be scooped up and cherished!
Would like to see the hood and grill meet in a better-fitted way. Looks a bit awkward to me.
Looks great to bad it has to be painted
@@kirtvanburen8094 he's not painting the car
You got me. Just finished a lowbuck paint job on my 65 Chevy II wagon. I have all the original side trim for it but none of the danged pain in the butt fasteners. I ran a strip of 3/4" centered over the original holes and a 1/4" strip above and below that to approximate the original profle. Looks snazzy and all the holes are sealed and leaves can't get behind the molding. $80 and two hours of eyeballing.
Chad and Jolene I think it would look cool on the front end if you put two more lights one on side of the grill a little lower than the main headlights. So a total of 4 lights on the front of the car. Gives it that unique Mercedes look. Just a thought. It just seemed to bare in the flat area.
Yep...definitely looks coool...the chrome on the side wrapping around..just another cool addition to this custom...and jimbo...definitely an inspiration...cya tomorrow
I wonder if using chrome wrap would do a better job on bumpers so you keep the original look instead of ribs. It is pretty inexpensive in small width and easy to apply on a bumper. Will last 7 yrs and can be added again.
Jolene is right it needs to be painted. I vote for a deep maroon. It would be bad a$$.
Will you at least spray something on this car to protect it from rusting ? Maybe a clear coat ? This will make a great display showing all fabricated places and patch panels and welding spots. So don’t let it rust !
Was thinking same thing , also wished he would have left front grill and bumper in bare metal ar spray chrome like in the back . At least on this build. The work he does is great and I do like the chrome tape .
That's the plan he said back a few episodes.(Clear coat) 👍😉✌
Do you think you might want to tac the ends with decorative rivets to prevent delaminating from heat, sun, abrasion etc... ???
The front shot of the car looks fabulous!
DEER CHAD: I quit watching Tom & Jerry and The Three Stooges and am now hooked on your car show? I especially like when your friend Jim speaks about waterproof varnish and paints his car with house paint. This is great entertainment : Thanks to entire staff with Chad, Jolene and Wonder dog.
more Bad Chad chrome, keep moving Fina, you're next. lol 🤣
I'd be curious to see how long the plastic chrome strips stay shiny.
I'm not a big fan of anything made of plastic. It always breaks on me.
A few years ago. I think in 2019 he did a video of one that he did years earlier that got in a wreck and he stored it Outside and it still looked great except the part that was in the accident.
Brother I love how you use electric tools and not air tools .electric ones are the best in my opinion
Bad chad stick on chrome cheap and easy
This car would look great in black. Also on the rear, what if you added or extend those 3 chrome strips up to the back window.
Chad please paint this car it will be beautiful
Fina gets her 5 seconds flash in ! Haha hi Fina !
Looks very similar to 54 austin pickup that had yrs ago
It did turn out marvelous nice job
The other day you didn’t want to Chrome the back bumper but you want to chrome the front one why?
I say to each his own. It would be different if he was doing this for a customer. The car is his to do how he wants. Jolene is very smart and multitalented.
Looks amazingly good .😎👍
I see that Chrome strip stuff peeling off eventually, and when you push up against something its just going to rip off like spaghetti.
Need to call it "Frankencoupe" with bare metal and able to see the lines and weld marks. Like Frankenstein has the stitch scars.
Chad how do you think of all the Details of the cars you work with I do bits my self but you have a talent with eny vehicles you do I can say if you got customers you will get a good profit all the best colin uk England
I love your work but how will you adjust the headlight aim on that Pontiac ?
a heat gun may be worth a try on the bad chad flexible chrome for those tight turns.
Having got a lot of things chromed it is expensive but there are other options than the one inch stuff being used that is affordable. Vinyl chrome wrap can do some amazing stuff. Even that back bumper with the tail lights could be chromed and it would look like one piece instead of the stacked approach that Chad typically done. Personally I would rather it look like a solid piece chrome and have a nice big reflection in it that a small or multiple reflection from multiple thin pieces. That vinyl chrome wrap comes in multiple colours, cheaper that real or water based chrome, and is tight. Would like to see Chad use the vinyl wrap stuff sometime. It gives more options than the thin stuff does.
The car has a smile on it’s face now.
Good evening jolene and chad hope your having a wonderful weekend and the weather was good down your way and thank you for sharing your information and knowledge on your journey for free
It does look amazingly bright. Would have preferred wider strips of plastic chrome material. Good job Chad. Jolene is amazing with her video work too.
Keep up the hard work you two
I like the original '48 Pontiac grille, but this one is growing on me. And leaving the Pontiac badges is really cool. Just imagine this car when done and the badges fully restored to look new!
Who said black was a color ? It's not it's a base color same as white .
If you paint this build think out of the box . Silver ?
I'd two tone it with silver and a Smokey black or grey .
Everyone has a great idea on how it should be painted but Chad's the one who will do or don't paint it .
Thumbs up 👍 Jolene and Chad 👍 .
Think I would have worried about finishing the paint and metal work before I would worried about chroming the bumpers, but that’s just me!
He's not painting the car He's leaving like how it is
He’s lovin the okie chrome these days
@@milinichsautodetail3124 Doing it his way. Frank would be proud
That bumper looks art deco for sure
Chad, You always adapt, adjust and follow through using your artistic mind.
Your work is phenomenal!!!!
Keep it up!!! This car is right out of the movie,
CHINATOWN. BEAUTIFUL JOB..🧐👍
Hey chad, reach out to the flex chrome guys, and work with them on flex chrome thats wide enough to cover most 30's-50's style bumbers n you just cut to shape?$$$$
I love watching Jim's videos. He is a real down-to-earth person.
Could you please let me know what Jimbo's site is ty
Can't wait for the back bumper, with the back lights, great choice
Chad is very right when he says if you have the money and you want to take it to the chrome shop OK. But a lot of us don't have the money to do that and he is showing us a way we can afford to and still make it look great.
Great job the car looks amazing
Jolene watching you handle that camera and the work you turn out everyday I am surprised you haven't been contacted by some TV crew to do as a camera operator! Keep it up girl you have a great talent just as Chad has his talent so do you!
Hey if you have the cheapest build at a car show and they look just as good or better than a car that spared no expense then, you're a definite winner!
Yesssss ,I like it,,relly sets it off in front,,you an Jolene are doing one heck of a job,,I’m lovein it,,👍👍😀
Sunday Funday with Jolene, Chad and Fina!
I love the way the front end is coming out. Just an amazing look.
Take a 5 pound steel roller and roll it to make sure it sticks
I love the way that front end has turned out it is beautiful
Hi Chad and Jolene,
The car is coming along, great. If I were doing this build I think I would add some fog lights on both sides of the chrome grill. It looks a little bare. Keep up the great work. Take care and God bless.
Love that instant chrome good looks so cheap
Wonder how it would look with the flexible chrome would look outlining all the fenders on the vertical sides. I think the chrome on the bumper where it curves down a bit might work with it. It kinda goes with the shape of the fenders of the car, they curve down to. Seems like the fenders are the focal point.
awesome job
It's Sunday Chad look's ALLSOME car looks great
Hey Chad! Looking real good my friend. I am with Jolene you need to paint it. It would look killer!!! Just saying my opinion. 😀😀
In the states we call those overlapped welds nickels. Must be the interchange rate😂 love the channel. Cheers from Alaska
I always heard dimes, all the same I guess. 👍😉✌
@@michaelbristol6467 haha your right. Guess I'm bass ackwards too lol
I SEE A ROYAL BLUE PAINT JOB Chad Jolene is right it deserves a paint job because its a beautiful build
It’s a special car done so great it needs to be completed Chad don’t just leave the old girl
Another great video thanks guys
It wood look fab in black with all the crom
You and Jolene are doing a great job on the car👍
The new chrome additions look great! Thanks for sharing.
I'm a big fan of those cadillac front end grills. I get the sense that the chrome tape looks different in person than on camera. If it looks ok to you, it looks fine on camera ... I do think its a shame that you didn't find room for the Cadillac grill, but that's me.
Nice Art Deco look.
I LIKE IT, AWESOME! REMINDS ME OF A 49 PLYMOUTH BUMPER, THEY WERE IN DEMAND FOR CUSTOM CARS IN THE OLD DAYS. THANK YOU FOR THE GOOD SHOW!
It's looking great
I swear that chrome does look good.
That looks fantastic
Great job Jolene
hi Bad Chad and Queen Jolene, Would you use Chads chrome on 1948 Suburban for the sergeant stripes? Thanks
With the hillbilly chrome and paint it with a roller you will fit right in . In west Virginia
Looks awesome!!!
Very cool front end 😊👍
