Yes. There is a famous question where it says in very deep cavities ine should apply calcium hydroxide and then etch for composite and for amalgam, proper base before it. @@Aspire32 would calcium hydroxide not affect our etching priming bonding(i.e microtags formation etc)???
Its only applied in deepest portion where the dentin is too thin. Rest all area is available for bonding agent

Microtag is just the resin extension. The hybrid layer is the dentin plus the resin interface
