Use an exacto knife and from the bottom push the exacto pointed into the recessed "track" around the circular plastic body seen. Keep piercing the exacto thru the "track" until the point pertrudes into the controller and work your way around that track. Once it's pierced all around the track, knock out will come out. Use the exacto knife to smooth the cut cut out edges remaining.
Looking for some advice... Power surge blew up my ESP 16-LX Plus sprinkler power plug/transformer.. Looking for a replacement transformer but only finding the RainBird transformer UT1 for SST series timers. Is it safe to use this transformer with my system? Input and output seems to match.
I changed my SST1200OUT from "odd days" to "cyclic" w/ 1 day intervals because of the heat and lack of rain. But my zone 1 will run for 2x the set duration (I set for 30 mins but it runs 1hr) all other zones will run after that hr and for the set time not 2x. Any idea what I have wrong?
Do you have instructions about connecting the water sensor to the mounting bracket ? the screw supplied is too big to tightly scree that sensor to the bracket.
I just bought the sst 600s. When the power goes out the clock and date are reset to factory settings. All of the zone settings stay as set. Is the battery dead on this new controller???
Is there any way to bypass the Master Valve delay. I have a pump with no holding tank. The SST turns on the pump, it immediatly gets to 60 psi and turns off until the valve opens 5 seconds later releasing the pressure. So for every watering cycle it starts up, shuts off then starts up again. I am afraid it will wear out my pump quick. Is it possible to connect the MV to the watering valve station so they both come on at the same time? I am an elec tech, any componant I can remove? Thanks
hi there iam a customer from Fiji islands now hav one installed at our place... been 10 yrs now hav damaged some... question is how can I have them shipped here.. thanks pls do reply by email
Could you please explain how to change from esp 6tm system to the sst? I see the blue(probably goes to master valve on sst) and red that are occupied on the 6tm, where do i connect the wires on the sst?
Can't figure out the magic behind attaching the valve wires. How are they supposed to be 'caught' in the fitting? Does it matter as long as they are (somehow) 'in there'? I see in this video that he uses a screw driver tip to depress 'the tab above the terminal'. Having examined the tabs, I can't see what that's intended to do. Finally, the instructions on the cover plate indicate that the tab is to be removed after the wire has been connected. Why?
I found the video confusting, of no value at all and I'm simply replacing an old Controller w/ the SST-400i. There was conversation about a universal pigtail plug that connects all the wires coming in from the controllers in the ground. Presently, when I take off the cover panel from my old RC-7Bi conroller it connects to the values w/a universal plug. It sounds like from I've watched here I'll be going to electrical engineering school to learn about the twenty five different color wires I'll have to connect for a simple six zone system. There has to be a "clearer" explanation on installing a controller. I give this video a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10. Almost no help at all...I'm very disappointed!
If you can't figure this out between this video and the manual, you shouldn't be messing with it. These are extremely easy to install and he gives you all the steps needed. If you have 25 wires for a 6 zone system, someone even more incompetent than you must have installed it.
Nice video, helpful, thanks. Question: how do you remove the knockout, I am having trouble removing it.

You should list the additional items (and their details) that are needed for a first-time installation in the description of the video.
For those looking for battery replacement their is a CR2032 on the circuit board.
Question: to attach the weather sensor to the bracket, simply screw the provided wood screw into the sensor?

Why do you say it can not be near an airconditioner mine is and I have not had issues.
my old timer has a common line #1 and common line #2. how do I connect the two common lines to the Rainbird SST-600I 6 Valve Timer?
how do we know which is the common wire? both wires on the valve are black with a white stripe.

How do you connect the stupid pump relay to this.

Does this controller have external 24 vac connections for a rain sensor?
One would wire a master valve as would any other station: One common wire, and the other into the "master valve" terminal.
Is there any backup battery on the sst600o model ??

Can you ship it
Says nothing about pump operations. Many draw water from wells or lakes. How does the rainbird system start the pump?
Rain bird program timer sst
it's crooked.
