- In this video, I go over how I tie in my irrigation lines, into my timer and water source. I use the RainBird Irrigation timer and really like it’s simple functions and ease of use. These can be hooked into any garden hose as well.
**To skip the install and to learn how to operate the Rain Bird timer, advance to 5:15.

This is how I did my irrigation system and is NOT a how to video. Install at your own risk. - Навчання та стиль
Nice work on that setup, even added the backflow valve which some people leave out 👍🏾🌱
Thank you! And yeah, that’s a very important piece! I believe that’s is per code too that you have to have one.
You can tell this guy knows plumbing.
If it were me, I’d be slapping rubber fittings and hose clamps on there.
Also instead of the rain bird I would have went with the Binford 6100.
Name that tv show...
Haha!! Home improvement?? (Googled it)
Excellent work mate. From down under irrigation Canada
Great video I’ve had this raid bird 2 years instructions was only in Spanish thanks to you video in English, I can I’ll set it up properly
Nice bro! Tanks
Nice job. But why do you need two backflow preventers? Why not just put one before the T at the top below the faucet?
good😊
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Quick question. Would you happen to know the distance I could have the timer from the hose bib? Hose bib is on front of my home. Would like to attempt to run pvc to my backyard and then connect Rain Bird and proper fittings. Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Sorry amateur here. Can you explain what a backflow preventer does? Thanks
Nice job 👍 by chance do you have a link for that valve flow pre? Thanks
I do not, but any big box store sells them!
Considering these timers, but also looking at some Smart Timers with WiFi /app and weather delay. At any point have you wished you have gone that route?
Amazing job on all the work you did. My only question is the following, how or why did you choose to have 2 zones versus making it all on one zone? was this dependent on how much water flow/pressure you had?
Thank you! Yes. My water pressure was too low for all on one zone unfortunately. I think I could have ran a 1” line and gotten a little more distance though too.
Great video. So when are you coming to help me put mine in? 🤣
As soon as that trench is dug 😂

Is it better to have them in the ground inside an access box or enclosed somehow. Also is there a separate spot for blowout to prep for winter?
You can have them in an access box. My setup is removable for winter. I’ll then add a fitting to blow them out for winter. Great questions!
@@RootedLawnCo Oh ok. I understand your method. Thanks bro.
I have one of these. I recently ran into a problem. I turn it on to water now heard the click but no water. Took it off turned on faucet water works. Put it back on water now no water. Any idea how to fix?
I use the auto to set the amount of time I want my system to run. When it clicks on the water does not go into the hose. It just goes back to set. Why am I not getting water going from my faucet to the timer to the hose that goes to my sprinklers?
You may have to flip the timer. You could have the water flowing in the wrong port if that makes sense. Which leads to nothing passing it’s valve inside and going to your sprinkler.
@@RootedLawnCo Thanks. It has worked for a couple of years where the timer has been hooked up. Every couple of times a day I can hear a quick knocking noise from the pipe to the faucet. When we removed the double faucet hook up, couldn't stop the water from flowing. I will see if we can switch the timer to the other hook up without the water coming out.
5:40 for when he talks about setting it up.
First! 💪🏻

So, then I assume you turn on the water and it runs on auto? Nope , didn't work for me. Water ran regardless of what I set the timer for.
Did you have them installed the correct way? Not upside down?
I have the sprinkler system and when I hit water now, nothing happens, new batteries.
