    I'd like to see more micro stress's added to/back into raiding. Tanks having to move the boss to correct spots, having to actually manage tank threat, timed burst windows beyond just the 2 minute meta, DPS stop/slow moments to control phase changes, more controlled baits on mechanics, tanks and healers swapping between defense/healing and DPS stances. Things like that. Those things aren't hard on their own but just having 1 or 2 more things to track do make a difference.

      I have a feeling, you've played this game back in the day. I do agree, I miss things like cleric stance and managing aggro. There's always a chance they will bring some of it back. However, a lot with jobs again probably won't change too drastically going into Dawntrail.

      I ultimately think this is all one big massive mis-translation. I honestly think what you mentioned is pretty much all they have in mind. Simply having the tank move the boss rather than having the boss warp back to the middle and making the hitbox smaller would do plenty towards meeting the devs goals more in line with what they truly meant IMO.

      Yeah, I honestly can't imagine it being too drastic. I'd like harder content, but it doesn't mean that's what the game needs.

    i felt like it was more about the game overall, not endgame/raids/ultimates/etc.
    more like making it fun while u kill an S rank, or normal trial, or fates. just some type of overhaul to some of the mobs attacks, stuff like that. cause when he mentions he falls sleep while playing, i dont think of that as hes sleeping while doing an ultimate, more likely hes almost sleeping while doing a fate. so i think he should expect more changes towards that in the game, not that overworld mobs will kill u, but that u will need to do some fun dodges or stuff like that. just to overall make it fun, not harder.

      It could be about that, it was partially vague. However, when talking about groups making strategies and Heavensward becoming harder - both of those fall in line with Savage. Ultimates are pretty busy, but Savage may be the core of what he is thinking. Of course when making new boss mechanics, it would make sense to spread them at varying difficulty levels on different pieces of content. So we could see overflow from fates, trials, etc going into raiding. Yoshida is also a very skilled player, so I'm sure he falls asleep just like other raiders sometimes do during savage.

      @@MogTalk true. that specific part about creating strategies makes sense, but i dont think the sleeping part is a reference to savage, or instanced content in general. cause at least thats what i feels like. cleared every ultimate and savage in the game as well, but they feel the good amount of challenge, difficulty in my opinion overall. obviously there are fights i like more and i would agree that p6s can make u fall sleep during it. haha. but overall i think the hard stuff (savage and ultimate, and maybe even ex trials) are in a good lvl of difficulty/stress. the part that he mentions that it should feel good to beat something already exists in those. im reading more into the "its boring as fuck to do a fate, or we could even include regular dungeons. u can get hit by a bunch of aoes and it doesnt matter, so having to dodge a few stuff here and there, or having some fun mechanics, even if theyre easy, will add more interest on those stuff. thats at least how i understood. but yeah, its pretty vague, and well only know when DT releases.
      (could also be that nothing will change, kinda like when he says something like "this new ex trial is really hard". and its rubicante, haha)

      @@MogTalk all that said.. i would like to see difficulty improved overall in the game, not just in "hardcore" stuff. cause sometimes to me, the whole "this is to be acessible", is kinda lame mentality. u cant make someone who doesnt wanna be good at the game, good at the game. no matter how easy u make the game

      The normal mode versus hard mode is supposed to allow that accessibility. Which is why I think we will see a heavier swing on the savage/ultimate side more than other content. But Ultimate is in a good spot like you mentioned, Savage however has some stuff that makes it boring, mostly in particular if you know a fight and do everything right, it doesn't mean you'll clear it. Savage is good for Party finder outside the body checks. There are soft ones and hard ones, the hard ones completely prevent people from clearing a tier and is an artificial difficulty that only matters to people who don't know it, but hurts everyone. Having a dps enrage lets people mess up, but has a limit to how much they really can. Have a mechanic fail and cause the same effect means a lot of other content is meaningless and makes it feel... maybe boring.

    I hope dawntrail relic goes back to its roots and make it like the ARR relics

      A good middle ground is to have first relic to be a long grind, but once you obtain it for your main job - it is significantly faster for other jobs on the same character

    I hope so. We are lvl 90 we have played through 5 “expansions” (counting arr) Time to put on some big girl pants and tune the core content difficulty.

      I got bullied by my lvl 83 party for telling the ninja he shouldn't be using doton on single target; so yeah, some people are wild.

    As a turbo casual pvp player with 3500 frontline matches behind them i have never cleared any savage while it was current/relevant (damn P9S :D), but EX trials are enough for me, so maybe again in DT i will try out savage because i hate limit cut with all my heart 😂

    Some of the Criterion mechanics seemed like a testing ground for new savage mechs, look forward to it.

      I can definitely see that. There are a lot of mechs I believe would fit well in Savage as well.

      Haha Thanks! - I found the daily portion to be difficult, but I still want a format where I routinely talk about things that are going on in the FFXIV community or things that affect it. At some point, hopefully, I'll get pretty good at these and churn them out on a good bit more regular basis.

    The part about being sleepy makes me think of a friend who will sleep tank sometimes through expert roulette lmao

      I think expert roulette is fine, but only when pulling wall to wall.

      @@MogTalk I do too, it just made me laugh because I know someone who will get sleepy in easier content too. The only difficult part about expert is who you end up with if you don't go with people you know (at least hopefully they're not the difficult ones).

    We learn the strats and do them for the rest of the tier while making fun of the person who made the effort to learn the fight and make a good effort to teach it. Ffxiv has a wonderful community, doesn’t it?
