Been listening for over 60 years to these guys and it never gets old. They were and are a national treasure and it's amazing to read the comments and know that so many other people feel the same.
My parents had all the Kingston Trio albums. My sister and I wore out those albums..in 1960..they bought a whole new set which we were forbidden to touch..we got the old albums!! I have some of those albums still!! And lots of cds too. Sing out loud with all my heart!!!!
@@marknewton6984 At Large, The Kingston Trio, Going Places, Sold Out, String Along, Make Way...Last Month of the Year..great christmas music!! And 2 albums with John Stewart.
It is simply amazing stuff we listened to when I was a kid in the 50's, are here on U-Tube for any and all. Try explaining how it was to a teenager today, especially one who already knows it all anyway, but we have instant converts when they sit down and listen to some of the music from my youth
Honoring Bob Shane b. 2/1/34 - d. 1/26/20 It was with great pleasure and a great honor to have known and worked with the original Kingston Trio and their legacy today is firmly intact. As the exclusive agency for the heirs we at Producers, Inc. enjoy seeing the original energy and sound kept alive and well for sold-out audiences across the country. I enjoyed many hours of fun and adventure with BOB SHANE. He ran the organization and kept the TRIO and legacy active these many years. Thank you, Bob for your loyalty, perseverance and love of folk music and its impact world-wide. We will continue our responsibility to keep your music alive. You will be missed. As a teen in the '70's, I spurned everything popular and pulled out my parents Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul and Mary and Brothers Four records and memorized them. As a 51 year old man on the verge of death, this song resonates with me.
I had a similar impulse as I became a teen in the late '80s. Eventually I enjoyed other music too, but the Kingston Trio, Peter, Paul & Mary, and Joni Mitchell from my parents collection were my go-to for quite awhile. Still really love a lot of their music.
I was such a folkie in the Sixties. These guys, the best. This song, way better than The Searchers version. Saw them sing it at the Hungry i in SF once, a great concert, a great dinner. I miss my youth. Music keeps it alive, not for regret, but for celebration, that we had such marvelous inspiration compared to the drivel that passes for popular music these days. Yeah, old folks always say that, but in this case, it's true. The Sixties were a golden age for all forms of popular music. Later decades have seen flashes of genius, but nothing so sustained as that was.
I was born in '57 and this was my big sisters album. I fell in love with these guys music and have been listening to them since the mid 60s and still love the music. They were among the best and timeless to say the least. Thanks to UA-cam we can still hear all the greats again~!!
Das ist eine wunderschöne. Erinnerung an einen Urlaub in Kirchberg, wo eine Band diesem Song jeden Abend spielte. Ich habe mich oft gefragt, was aus dieser Gruppe geworden ist, die sehr gut war!
I can remember listening to and singing songs off of this album for so many years. The album made such impression on me that I have such a love for this group. The original Trio captured my heart and the addition of John brought about a different sound. I will listen to the two KT's for as long as I can hear them. Thank you @CompVid101.

PAUL McCARTNEY'S "ALL MY TRIALS" kills it with his version. This is pale in comparison. LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM"S " ALL MY SORROWS" is absolutely gorgeous BUT a completely DIFFERENT song. I've never understood the writing credit for his "version". It's completely different & a LINDSEY song unto itself.
Not the bass player, one of the trio is playing WRONG chord right at beginning. You can hear he was searching for the correct chord, he knew what he was playing sounded sour but he never found it during the session. The trio were singers, not Chet Atkins.

Dave Guard, Bob Shane, and Nick Reynolds deserve to live on forever. It's satisfying to know they will. Some things work out right.
There were other members of the Kingston Trio too.
The Stewart Trio was good too but Dave Guard was awesome!

Sorry to hear you think you are soon to die. I have to ask, I wonder, are you still enjoying the music with us?
Don't forget The Mamas and the Papas!!
I did exactly the same thing with my parents' Kingston Trio albums, but in the late sixties. The Peter Paul and Mary records were mine!

Guard, Shane and Reynolds. The Trio changed but it never got better. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, CompVid101 for posting this.
Kingston Trio is the BEST!
great memories!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of my favorite KT songs.
One of their very best. Imagine all those who never bothered to turn over the M.T.A. 45, and missed this one!
that was the flip side ?
Yes it was the flip side. I love flip sides!
Always played the B-side, some were good.
Thanks, great music. ..
Another great song from The Kingston Trio! I can relate to it in 2020! Thanks for the Upload! R.K.

Thanks to Lindsey Buckingham for turning me on to the Trio late in life.He does a fine version .

love this song (except for the big fuckup by the bass player at 1:31 ... and not the only place he fucked up)
