Putin says Russia does not need to use nuclear weapons to defeat Ukraine

- President Vladimir Putin said on Friday Russia had no need to use nuclear weapons to secure victory in Ukraine, the Kremlin's strongest signal to date that the conflict will not escalate into a nuclear war.
When asked if Russia should hold a "nuclear pistol to the temple" of the West over Ukraine, Putin said:
"The use is possible in an exceptional case - in the event of a threat to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. I don't think that such a case has come. There is no such need."
He added the country reserved the right to supply weapons to countries hostile to the West, as it would "mirror" the actions of the West supplying weapons to Ukraine.

Russia could have defeated Ukraine at any time of their choosing. From the outset, their stated objective was to liberate the regions of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson, which are populated by ethnic Russians who voted in favor of secession to Russia by a margin of over 90%. The fact that they have not decimated Ukraine’s infrastructure, which would have left the population without electricity, fuel, heat, communication, internet, roads, and access to food and water, attests to their lack of interest in the entirety of Ukraine. If they had wanted, Russia could have overrun Ukraine in the first few months of the war.
And Kherson is still under Ukrainian control same with Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. If Russia took the capital in 2022 when it tried. This war would have been over in 1 week. And here we are 3 years later and 500k Russians soliders gone.
LOL. So yeah rather than do all that and win a war quickly, they thought - I think we'd rather have half a million soldiers killed/wounded and drag this out for a decade

Morale. Taliban extremists would do anything, and I mean anything to win. They actually believe that they're fighting for the greater good. Whereas none of the NATO troops actually wanted to be there.
Terrain. Look at a topographic map of Afghanistan and you'll see that it is all mountains. For instance, US troops defeat a group of Taliban fighters, they're just going to retreat into the mountains and regroup.
Foreign aid. Believe it or not, a lot of counties actually supported the Taliban. Mostly Pakistan and a bunch of middle eastern nations.
Russia previously tried to take over Afghanistan too but that failed miserably.
No need to use nukes but then talks about his nuclear capability.

It is clear the reason for his confidence is that Ukrain even after having unlimited fund and supply of weapons and intelligence from the west still was not able to take their lost land back instead kept on giving them more. How hard can it be to defeat a nation which no 1 sanc nation in world, who's army is spread around the world, continue their weapon sails to other nations, have protect the longest border in the world.
The West has been supplying Ukraine crumbs. 380 billion in total was promised to Ukraine from the West and half that has yet to be hit. USA spends 900 billion on their own military alone each year. You combine the rest of Nato+allies with that, and it is closing in on 2 trillion total military spending which is larger than Russia's entire economy. Nato is giving Ukraine its 90's stockpile and limited what Ukraine was allowed to strike in Russia until a few weeks ago. Russia has been going all out since the beginning of the invasion.
Maybe Russia should not have spent most of the last 500 years invading Eastern European countries. Nato did not need to "expand." Eastern Europeans got sick of Russians deporting their ethnic groups to Siberia only to be replaced by Russians. Crimea was not "Russian." The Soviet Union deported all the Turks from Crimea to Siberia in WWII and imported a million Russians. A story every country in Eastern Europe knows too well.

Regardless of that Russians also knew about it so they also used their ww2 weapons which media portrayed has Russia running out of supplies and it has been 2 years since. Russia also has it's own drones and shells but did not choose to use their rather chose to purchase it which was cheaper and because this things are one time use only make sense for them.
