As this track originally appeared on 1981's Cruisin' For A Bruisin' LP, I guess it was recorded shortly before Mike Bloomfield died. His playing here seems febrile and for me, a certain mournfulness shines through.
His playing always sounded very tight and and nervous to me, not saying it's a bad thing since everyone has their own style it's just my opinion on the matter.
I agree. I like MB, but I find myself getting a bit tense while listening to him. I always find myself wishing for him to relax and slow down a bit, to take a breath and let the audience catch their breath too.
Mike Bloomfield the real Sultan of The Swing!
Except he does not know "all the chords." He does know how to make it "cry and sing" though.
the real sultan of the swing!
Bloomfield always had such a cool tone
Bloom at his "jaw dropping" best. Thanks for posting this man!
Super Michael Bloomfield
Extraordinary guitarist and composer, so close in this track to Mark Knopfler..He died too young at 38, but was too great..Wow
best guitar ive heard in years.
Dang, if only he'd resolved the tune instead of fading it out, it would've been perfect. Still, I'm grateful to have heard it -- thanks for posting.
this is off of the LP "cruisin for a bruisin" and its speeded up way to fast.

wish they had more of his music available on the mytouchtunes jukebox
Great, all Bloomsfield is better than none-:D
Oh! this is where Mark Knopfler got his style.
WoW ... just close your eyes and listen.... Nice
you need to check out the vinyl version for correct speed
This version was crazy. Like sped up 25% at least. Why?
Ya check out the album Cruisin for a bruisin
Pera Verges play it at .75
Sultans of Swing was cut four years before this one though.
does this sound like a van morrison tune without singing to anyone else?
Yes! Now that you mention it...

this is recorded at the wrong speed....its way too fast....
Sounds a lot like sultans of swing, who ripped off who? sultans released in 78, this was released in 81, but which one was written first?
Much too fast. 30 seconds short. This CD was defect.
hope mark knoflers not listening.
