    So love and appreciate this wonderful tutorial! So grateful for the tip of the razor/tape as that was a light bulb moment. Can’t wait to paint this with my daughter. Thank you so much!

    That sponging takes the trees to a new level.

    • @DebWatson
      @DebWatson  Рік тому

      Sponging is an easy way to create realistic foliage or flowers. Especially if someone has trees they don't like, sponging on top can improve them immensely.

    I like the sponging method deb... please explain how much water you use with your sponge.. thank you

    • @DebWatson
      @DebWatson  4 роки тому +1

      I use the same thickness of wash that I would apply with a brush. I usually wet the sponge first and squeeze out all the water, then dip the sponge in whatever wash I'm using. I use a tiny piece so it doesn't soak up a ton of paint.

I have a zoom class on Tuesday mornings now and you're welcome to pop in for a free class to see if you like it. If you're interested, email me at deb@debwatson.org. And thanks for posting.

    In the end of the video what did you mean by “with sponging and without”?

    • @DebWatson
      @DebWatson  11 місяців тому

      In the 'with sponging' painting, the background trees on the right were done with a sponge, and in the 'without sponging' the trees were painted on with a brush. The sponging gives you very realistic looking foliage edges - leafy - easily and quickly!
