I love how Kanami dances and sings along throughout Yolo, I have a feeling it may hold a special place in her heart. She wrote the melody before Band Maid existed and it became one of the earliest of her songs that their label accepted following soon after the first one Alone which happens to be the next song in this concert. Kanami seems to like that one too.
Glad to see you guys reacting to Band-Maid again. Kanami wrote this song with piano before Band-Maid and she posted that piano version, you can find it on UA-cam, which is stunning. Gives you a completely different impression.
Of course MISA & Akane studied at the Tokyo School of Music. However, Kanami studied Economics and Management at University. But she had been taking piano lessons since the age of 3. So she knew he way around a chart. And being a Singer/Songwriter since picking up the guitar in High School, it makes sense that she composes all the music. Miku is no slouch either. She has been taking lessons from Kanami ever since Saiki came onboard as the lead vocalist. She's a bundle of energy! In addition to forming the band and being the Spokes-Pigeon, she continues to improve her playing skills all while writing all the Lyrics to Kanami's Music. There are no "weak links" in this band.
You wish to see them? They are touring Japan in July. They will be back in the US in August starting at Lallapaloosa in Chicago then Minneapolis, continuing through the Rocky Mountains, the West Coast, and ending in Mexico City. Back to tour Japan in September and October. BUT THEN they will be in Kanagawa at Yokohama Arena on November 26th for their Tenth Anniversary Tour Finale. I agree with you about Band-Maid's talent. What they do is genius and it's difficult not to go hyperbolic laying praise to their music. I don't think they're capable of playing a boring note: I never get tired of listening to them.
I recomend you to see "Band-Maid Documentary" series (SAIKI, KANAMI, AKANE,MISA,MIKU). Kanami(lead guitar and composer), Akane(drums), MISA(base) started their instruments when they were senior high school student. And debued when they were about 20 to 23 years old.
YOLO -- You Only Listen Once, and you've been Maid!

There are so many good musicians in Japan the two things that make Band Maid so different are the songwriting and the vocalist

It's great to hear Miku turned up in this version.

Was just gonna ask this question myself! Seen them 2x now and about to see them for the third time next month! :D
Been a while since y'all uploaded anything. I had wondered where y'all had gone :)
