Congratulations to Band-Maid with 20M views on Thrill. Thrill was Band-Maid's first MV published on UA-cam. IT was uploaded on Facebook and from there it blew up all over the place. Thrill saved Band-Maid from being dropped by their label at the time. Thrill reached a worldwide audience and their way to world domination started. From Thrill and onwards Band-Maid grew their fanbase, got to record and release their own music, play live shows worldwide, they evolved into the amazing band they are today. I was rooting for them. They were 1,636 views over 20M when I checked this afternoon. YAY! I was watching the Ten Ant Okyu-ji last night before the extended release ended this morning and at 1 am they were soooooo close to 20M it made me happy.
I'm proud of our Maids! "Thrill" did well enough to stop the label from shutting them down & keep them in business, but I can't say it was truly a "viral" hit. It IS, however, an evergreen one. From here, they had to grow the old-fashioned way -- hard work and determination. Through it, they EARNED their worldwide fanbase + sold-out shows! 「BAND-MAID」をこの曲で盛り上げてくれた海外のファンに感謝。 おかげで2021年にこの最高にカッコいいバンドを知ることができました。 Thanks to the overseas fans who made "BAND-MAID" lively with this song. Thanks to that, I got to know this coolest band in 2021.
The two most gorgeous guitar players in one band ever! So glad I was able to meet Miku and Kanami and the rest of the beautiful and talented ladies of Band-Maid three times in Hollywood and Dallas 2019.
Thrill immediately caught my attention over seven years ago and I have been a devoted fan of Band-Maid's music ever since. It is extremely rare for five incredibly talented musicians to be in the same band together and get along with each other so wonderfully in order to produce consistently great music. All of them have been in this same band for ten years now and it has been fascinating to witness them evolve while utilizing many different musical genres seamlessly into their music and yet still keep their signature sound. Band-Maid is one of the very best, if not the best, hard rock band currently playing today.
Attention: Anyone watching this video for the first time or the 20,000 time. We the BAND-MAID fans from around the world are trying to show the Maids how much they mean to us on this their 10th anniversary. Because "THRILL" was the song that saved the band and was the introduction to BAND-MAID for soooooo many of us, we are trying to get this video to breach 20 million views by Nov. 20th, which will mark THRILL's 9th anniversary. Please help us celebrate the greatest band on the planet and get this video to hit 20 million.
I have to second the many sentiments I'm reading in these comments. I just discovered them in the last year and .... these girls make me cry they're so good. I rock out to this track many times a week. And I'm 53! Someone commented that it was criminal that he just discovered them in 2022. Ditto man! I feel like I've missed out on something here. So greatfull for the power of youtube to bring them into my life. OMG! This is so good!
I'm glad my dad told me about this band. he sure knows his stuff. my dad is a bassist so he holds rock musicians to a very high standard. he called Misa a badass and I know that means a lot coming from him. these ladies have a great sound and I have a shit ton of respect for them. I've seen some great rock bands but they top my previous favorites by a lot. they're such amazing women
Mark King, bassist for Level 42, was considered by his peers to be one of the top bassists on the planet. In an interview, he said the bass slapping technique is the most difficult style of play (curious to know if your dad agrees). Anyway, during the instrumental portion of this song that's exactly what Misa does. They really are an incredible collection of talent. I hope they can keep it together and go on to become one of the best rock bands ever.
Misa is badass! I remember one interview where Miku told the story that Misa practiced her part till her fingers bled, next day she was in studio to record! Dedicated to the bass as heck... And then to think that Misa is the shy girl in the band :)
The hell with age. I am soon-to-be 53 years old male from Bulgaria. Being rock fan forever. Participating in numerous unknown Bulgarian bands as a drummer in my youth. Akane is probably the best female drummer I have ever heard or seen. The other girls in the band are also phenomenal. I just don't have enough compliments to you young ladies. Please keep up and never give the metal up! You ARE the best there is!
Having been a fan of BAND-MAID since 2014 I can say with confidence, there is only one BAND-MAID and these 5 talented gals have been my favorite group since the first time I experienced their music.
Around 1967, the classical composer Leonard Bernstein listened to the music of The Beatles and said it was "exciting" music. I am classically trained myself, I find this band exciting.
You will definitely like the Finnish metal band Nightwish. This is metal with opera singing. The singer is a trained opera singer. Here is the song "Ghost Love Score" ua-cam.com/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/v-deo.html
+Nick Maseon if You really like this than you maybe should listen to the female band "Mary's blood" too. My most favourite song of Mary's blood is "Marionette"
+Nick Maseon Kanami with her Addictone guitar - excellent, and I like it that their guitars are not all beat to crap like you usually see in Western bands.
As an early BandMadiac, ive had the privilege to watch them grow and produce tons of great killer stuff....and I always come back to this. It is iconic and hasnt lost any of its hitting power. Im 61, BandMaidiac for Life
Like many others, this was my first Band-Maid video. And it led me down a rabbit hole of pure musical ecstasy that is the Band-Maid discography. It is funny though, watching this video now, 10 years later, they were so young then, wearing the 1st generation maid costumes, so quaint. These talented and lovely ladies have over the years, blossomed into the best rock band on the planet. I've seen them twice, they have become the favorite band of my long life. Thank you Band-Maid.
Me too. I'm 60 now. Found them by accident in 2017. Best accident ever! Roger Daltrey was right after all. Rock is not dead, it just moved to Japan! Moe! Moe! Kyun! Kyun!
For anime enthusiasts, Band-Maid will be doing the OP for next season’s Log Horizon Season 3. The single is called “Different” and will be released on 02 Dec.
@@Satsujinhan definitely. All of them would love it. Now they have achieved both, but I’m sure they would love many more to come. Especially if it’s for a big-name anime.
These girls are hard core for real. I just discovered this. I played it like 3-4 times today. They don't have the stereo typical rocker look, that's what makes them unique to me. And they can jam. Keep it it rocking ladies.
I had to comment again...these young ladies are bad ass. Very impressive, unexpected...not cuzz they are female (lots of good females out there), but I never knew they jammin metal in their country. Good to see other cultures embrassing other cultures music and doing good at it.Baby metal is also good. Rock on everyone.
Grew up listening to Rock & Roll and Heavy Metal. I'm 63 now, It's pretty awesome to see a bunch of girls from Japan do it better than most guys out there. I must watch this video once a week. Awesome song, Awesome band. Keep It Up almost 10 million hits...
Just turned 64 my own self ... with the unprecedented decline of western music in general to its current insipid state, let us raise our glasses to Band Maid, who has taken up the heavy pop/metal mantle with aplomb :)
I just seen Band Maid live for the first time this last weekend. They put on a awesome show. I cannot express how great of a time I had seeing them on stage and their great musicianship. Their interactions with the crowd were great.I will definitely see them again when they are back. I love this song and the video.
The West is losing its rhythm and true feeling. The bassline represents the "heart" of the song. Heart is surely missing from the West. ~From Texas with Love Edit: this is just my opinion. my *very strong* opinion
This just Rock. No need for a label ... The US is onto CASH always going with what is new looking for that big payday. Even if what is new is pure crap. Japan has so many people there is enough to love all forms of music. What I like about this band is the lead. The lead guitarist of this band clearly loves to play. She moves like an old pro and play with style. She is that one in a million.
So I've noticed all these Japanese female metal bands have sick ass bassists. Amongst the other amazingly talented band mates. I mean fuck, save some talent for the rest of the world Japan, jeez...
@@coinexplorer5135 Not really. Except for the lead guitarist who has a background studying classical music. Japan has a strong after-school high school music curriculum which allows students to come together to form bands, so you get to practice. Furthermore, most of the ladies went to university for music.
This was the first song of their's I heard about two years ago. Band Maid have had my full attention since. These ladies just bring it every time🎸🥁🎸🎤🎸🇯🇵🇦🇺
This is the first time I listen this band and boy... That guitar solo catch me out of guard, it's absolutly great 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I liked the rest of the song as well 👍🏻👍🏻
Who is here discovering Band Maid in 2019 for the first time?? For an old metal head from the 70's and 80's I really could care less about how they started, or who they are, or what they came from. The music is awesome, and so much better than anything new I've listened too ion 10 years.
Miku the back up singer put bandmaid together. They call her an old man in a little girls body. She worked at a Maid Cafe where sometimes they have to sing and dance. She was probably smart and saw a different way. She found the drummer online in a youtube demo video, which led her to the bassist and guitarist which led to the singer which Miku picked because she liked the style of singing. Miku famously didn't tell Sai'ki (singer) they had to wear maid outfits which is why her costume changed from white, in maid, to the front with all black and stockings. Sai'ki hated the outfits. Since Miku moved aside for Sai'ki, Miku learned to play rhythm guitar and the band named the drummer the leader of the band, I assume to stop any disputes. But Miku is still the leader by pretending to be a pigeon for laughs and she always answers most of the media questions and is the one interacting with the crowd on the stage. They do play their own instruments but Kanami said when she joined the band she read the music and thought it would be a great challenge. Not sure if they still have song writers.
@@dankmheems290 Miku found Kanami first online (she used to upload her songs) and talked to her to join. Kanami brought along Akane who used to back her on drums sometimes on her songs. Then, Akane brought along Misa, her school mate. Then, they all auditioned Saiki who was in the same management company as them.
I get a sense she has a mixture of a Melancholic and Phlegmatic Temperament (of the 4-temperments). Many creative people have this temperament. Some Musicians, Artists, Engineers, Architects, etc.
7 months ago we were 20,000 views away from 20 million. The Maidiacs around the world turned up the heat and we broke that record with no worries. THRILL has now broken a brand new gate and hit the 21 million mark. Congrats ladies.

Just showed this to my guy friend who's in his seventies and he was freaking Blown Away. Said he really misses the days when Rock was big here in America. I totally agree. I'm so happy these girls are keeping the sound going!
I watched Thrill 45 times today. I challenge 500 Maidiacs to watch Thrill just 24 times a day until November 25 (USA time). That's about how many views are needed to get Thrill to 20 million views by their final concert at the Yokohama Areana. Come on Maidiacs, the Maids deserve this honor.

Me too. About 3 weeks ago, someone posted a Babymetal video (Gimme Chocolate) in a random FB group. Since then, I found Ningen Isu (The Colour out of Space), and now BAND-MAID. Prior to that, I had never listened to Japanese rock music in my almost 50 years on this planet. Now, I can't stop.
Same here - discovered them through babymetal. But Band Maid is like an all-star band... Experts at every playing position. My favorite songs are thrill and dice.
I used to feel that way-now I''m just grateful that we who have discovered them are blessed to listen this absolute treasure of a world class rock band!!!!!! I just listened to their "New Beginning" album again. It's always amazing to go back and listen to a band you haven't listened to for a few years. Great memories.
This just fucking drives. It's funny, look at the so called "reaction videos" to this unbelievable song. Every single one are totally floored. We were there first, for my part, saying "welcome aboard"
"Discovered" Band Maid about 2 weeks ago by accident. So happy that happened, totally into their music. I love the sound. I'm in my 50s and thought heard it all, how wrong I was.
Welcome! A large swath of the fan base, especially the overseas fan base is like us. Late 70's through early 90s rock/metal fans who have been BEGGING for good rock that reminds us of our youth. Well, here it is.
So I'm the "youngster" who's only in his 40s. LOL Came across this band for the first time just a few months ago, and they are just so damn perfect. It's what rock was meant to be. Some bands have good songs and bad songs... Band-Maid has good songs and amazing songs!

The failure of management on this band is unforgivable. They would have made 50 million dollars in Vegas as a headliner act..

I dont care who wrote it, this song rocks. Those bass and double tap bass drum riffs hit hard.
The bass player, drummer and lead guitarist all sound like they play their instruments 20 hours a day. They are that good.

Because "THRILL" was the song that saved the band and was the introduction to BAND-MAID for soooooo many of us, we are trying to get this video to breach 20 million views by Nov. 20th, which will mark THRILL's 9th anniversary.
The bassist is incredible... she rules.
All are amazing, of course.

Being a bassist I concur what your dad says. They are all killer musicians, check out Akane on the drums.... that is very bad ass too
Just go look for "No God" from their latest album. There maybe a sound clip on youtube. Your head will explode.
I'd like to see your dad in hold up stockings ! Send photo in SAE to my special postbox my wife doesn't know about. Cheers

Moe! Moe! Kyun! Kyun!
I share your experience, I've also seen them twice this year at Tokyo Garden Theater and Zepp Shinjuku.
For anime enthusiasts, Band-Maid will be doing the OP for next season’s Log Horizon Season 3. The single is called “Different” and will be released on 02 Dec.
That's awesome because I saw in an interview that it was Akane's dream to play a song for an anime OP or ending.

The thing I like about JRock and many Jpop is their emphasis on the bass. Unlike many western modern music doesn’t have it as much.
@@coinexplorer5135 Not really. Except for the lead guitarist who has a background studying classical music. Japan has a strong after-school high school music curriculum which allows students to come together to form bands, so you get to practice. Furthermore, most of the ladies went to university for music.

Hell yeah brother!!
X2!. Band Maid yeah!
@@dankmheems290 and kanami have crush to saiki 😂
@@dankmheems290 Miku found Kanami first online (she used to upload her songs) and talked to her to join. Kanami brought along Akane who used to back her on drums sometimes on her songs. Then, Akane brought along Misa, her school mate. Then, they all auditioned Saiki who was in the same management company as them.
