Major Morrie Stanley. I honour and salute you Sir. You and your Kiwi Operator, and indeed the Kiwi Artillery did a BRILLIANT job of keeping many of D Coy 6RAR alive that afternoon in the rubber. You were a humble man and a man that served New Zealand and Australia well. No one who wasn't at Long Tan on 18 August 1966 will ever understand the enormity and courage you displayed on that day..STAND DOWN SIR; DUTY DONE. From a grateful former Australian Digger. GOD BLESS YOU MAJOR MORRIE STANLEY, AND MAY HIS PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEE. MAY YOU REST IN PEACE!!! LEST WE FORGET!
Many years ago I came across this fine gentleman. I listened to him speak about the action in the Rubber plantation and was very moved.
It felt to me that he was carrying a heavy burden. Rest the great man.

Thank you for posting this. A fitting service for, a man who served New Zealand, his country with distinction and by extension for his service as an ANZAC and beyond to my home, Australia. Thank you New Zealand for the providing a military service and send of of this calibre for Morrie Stanley.
