Run every day + bad mechanics = injury. Unfortunately I learned this the hard way. Being 63yo didn’t help.
I’ve never been a fan of running streaks. I have a friend who ran for 42+ years straight. At one time he was incredibly fit and fast. He was on the cover of Runner’s World for his streak. He ran through injuries. No weight training or any other activities. He is now in his 60s and barely shuffles when “running” and he walks with a stooped over gait. He has all kinds of health issues from poor diet and lack of strength. Running is extremely good for you, but focusing only on running and doing streaks is bad IMO.
Stress fracture here from running everyday 🤦🏻♀️
Rubber duck in tree lol
5-6 days a week marathon training here and would advise just listen to what your body is telling you when you’re exercising. Done a fair bit of work on running form to create the conditions that enable consistency-you don’t get there overnight.
I never ran for performance, But I completed 3 ultras and 7 marathons by just running 2 days a week. 1 sprint training and 1 long run.
Please make a video on running clothes
I run every other day to avoid injury
Definitely not me 😂 more miles actually makes me slower 😢that's why I love to cross train it keeps running 🎽 special 😊
I feel like running and, maybe exercise in general is like everything else... more isn't always better. But it's great in moderation and always listen to your body. Great video! A ton of great points!
Hi! Now during my off season I’m running three days a week and doing two weekly strength training sessions (3+2). I’m not sure whether I will run 4 or 5 days a week during my marathon training. What are your thoughts of incorporating strength training into marathon training schedule? Is it better to have a 4+2 ( 5+1, in case of 5 running days) schedule or is it better to lift on running days (after running) in order to have additional rest days? I would prefer 4+2 or 5+1 approach, but then I will have fewer rest days, right? I would really appreciate your answer. Thanks a lot! Btw, I was heavily overtrained for two years a couple of years ago. Since my complete recovery, I have already run some relatively successful races, but I am paying my attention to the intensity of my training (before overtraining I always thought that training more is always better, not sure about that now).
Did you guy's see the world marathon record holder's training regime? Running every day has made him the best runner. Let's just agree that a fair balance is what's required
The Hardest Geezer on UA-cam makes a mockery of not running every day. The guy is running the length of Africa doing a minimum 60km a day...
@@threatened2024 I was being a little facetious, clearly this went over your head... Lol, obviously nobody else can do what he does...
There's that yellow rubber ducky again 🤣
See him in 5 years time
