  • In this 2 part series, we'll show you how we lowered our 1992 Chevy C/K 1500 OBS using Western Chassis C-Notch Kit, Flip Kit, Rear Shocks, Extenders, and Shackles.

    No need to disconnect the drive shaft from rear end,correct?im currently in the middle of installing a flip kit and kinda having a hard time as it is my first time.

    Why would you make the frame notch so high you can't fit wire loom in there. A quarter inch less of clearance isn't going to hurt anything

      As much clearance as possible is better than not enough. Especially if you still use it as a truck

      Depends on your roads, I live in so cal and ours arent terrible considering the amount of traffic, I could drive mine everyday if I wanted to.

      There US MAGS C10s or U129s i got the same wheels. Mine are 22x8.5 front 22x10.5 rear. Look at this video

    I did a flip kit on my 96 ext cab truck. 5.inches in the rear without a notch but it bumps bad. What can I add to go up another inch?

      Replace your shackles with one inch lift shackles and you’re good!

      @@atxjax1 it’s not a flip kit? It’s the shackles, there’s 2 inch drop shackles and 1 inch lift shackles so that’s your go to... you welcome

      @@lreverxnce on a flip kit the smaller the shackle is the more lift it will get. Spring end toward the ground. If I go spring up upwards toward the bed it will lower it more. Im already using a 1 inch shackle. My only other alternative would be to get a half inch shackle like the Belltech 6404

      @@atxjax1 then you’d get the oem ones back on with some lowering shocks and extenders you won’t hit again

    What about the drive shaft it doenst affect it

      the reason the new ubolt plate has that offset hole is so it lines up your axle rearward to account for the new driveshaft angle

      @@albertybarra7968 in general the imput and outputs should be parralel.... but all the brand name flip kit brackets should line it up for you

    My only gripe is not wrapping the wires in electrical tape. Or shrink tubing if possible.

    are you really suggesting customers remove wiring loom and push it into a crevice where its guaranteed to corrode, get road debris etc? Sorry, but they are better off zip tying the wiring harness to the brake line etc. thats really lousy advice, especially for a 25 year old truck
