Miriam and Chris. This is THE BEST explanation of the Natures Head composting toilet we've ever seen. We signed off a a new Crusader XCE build with a cassette toilet a few hours before we saw this. We have just asked for a variation and a composting toilet following your vid. I hope they agree to the change. Thank you!!
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Yes they did! Some other questions if I may? Chris puts his paper in sometimes. How does it break down? Any suggestions on type/brand of paper? Also, "skid marks" - presumably the product you showed helps to make them easy to remove. Do you use a carefully directed spray to remove?
Just getting into the ins and outs of composting toilets, watched a few American vids which told you the basics and left out so much but you covered everything and answered all the questions with some great Aussie humour and honesty. Top work fellas!
Hi Miriam and Chris. Further to the comment we made 5 months ago, we were able to have a Natures Head fitted to our new Crusader XCE. We followed your excellent instructions to the letter. We have done our first trip living off grid for over two weeks using the toilet every day. We emptied when we got home just to see how it had worked for us. All can say is - brilliant! We'd never have a caravan without a composting toilet. Thanks once again for this excellent video
I think the washing out and brushing is overkill. You want to retain a good source of beneficial bacteria to speed up the composting process. The first time someone takes a dump in it, it becomes "dirty" again, so it doesn't make a lot of sense.
Agreed. We just replace the moist peat, no scrubbing or water to clean. And we buy our 9L peat from Enviropro in NSW as the 15L blocks are too big and Nature’s Head recommend cutting the larger brick down.
Mate get some stick on magnets from Bunnings and put them above the the clips for the top. I put them on mine and it was much less frustrating when removing and reattaching the top.
Hi, I’ve just read your post. We have just converted to a natures head. Do you have a photo of your magnets that you use on your lid? Our latches are stainless so not magnetic.
Great video on an essential topic. Composting toilets are a fantastic unit. Another great toilet but can only be used as a stationary unit but great for houses and parks is a vermiposting toilet.
Fascinating guys, the best demo we have seen on the subject no doubt! When we toured over there last with a MH finding a dump point was a pain unless you were on a site. Very well presented. Another small thing could maybe wear a mic, we had volume 100% and you sounded very quiet....Thanks alot guys, love from the UK. 🥰
Hey guys. Great video. About a year ago when I was researching this topic I struggled to find decent videos on the topic, especially Aussie, from anyone that had significant experience and hadn't just bought it recently! I now have an air-head in my new van, primarily because has a slightly smaller footprint than the natures head and worked best for our situation. I wanted to mention that everything I've read/seen says there's no need to hose out or scrub the poop section each time, as whatever is left behind after tipping the contents into the bag, is the 'starter' for the next batch, with lots of microbes to get the composting process kick started even faster. For that reason, we have a little crate that we have for the crumbling and wetting process, so we aren't putting our hands in the poo section. However, we haven't yet had to empty ours, as we are weekenders at this stage (have obviously emptied the pee bottle!). Time will tell!!
Hey…we are so happy that you enjoyed the video. We thought the same about no or wrong info out there but wanted to wait until we knew exactly what we were doing. We only wash ours out occasionally but when we do we find in makes no difference to the next cycle. Thanks 🙏🏼
We have the Air Head toilet on our boat. I very rarely clean the #2 container for the following reason: Composting process needs bacteria and it take times to create bacteria, since there is bacteria already in the #2 container after you empty it, I leave it there! I do rinse the #1 container and after usint the toilette we have a spay bottle with 10% venegar/water solution and give the bowl a little spray. Great video thanks.
I’m now researching for use in our off grid cabin so very happy u mentioned OGO cause it’s less expensive, smaller footprint and has the electrical poo “mixer”
I have watched another video on this style of composting toilet that you have. And when I saw that you had the same one, I wanted to see what you had to say about it. You gave me so much more information thank you that was great and you covered all aspects of it. That was awesome. I would like to pass on a little information that in your pee pot that you can put boron in there. A tablespoon is all you need. It is a wetting agent, but it also breaks down things in water and it helps. It’s a softener and will help with the harsh odor that you can get does not hurt to put the soap in with it or the vinegar. I do know in a regular holding tank the black water tank is you put one cup of Dawn dish soap, one cup of boron one cup of Pine-Sol and this will cause the solids to break down and when you do your dumping and flush it, cleans everything out. And in your P box, you can probably put half the amount of soap that you put in if you put in 1 tablespoon of boron, and yes, it’s a powder, but it does dissolve and break down and it does wonders and it helps for the clean up afterwards. Appreciate you guys. Thank you and safe traveling. God be with you guys.
Very informative, loved the fact you did a real live demonstration with the toilet, great job.. pardon the pun! Re the gnats, you may also find the eggs maybe in the peat moss blocks.
You guys have it nailed. A lot of work though. We love our Separate Tiny toilet. Empty weekly. Just a compostable bag to pull out and throw away. Quick and easy. Liquid stored externally and lasts a week too. And it looks like your toilet at home. Nice setup guys. Love it. 😀
Thanks so much for this one. I have recently bought the Cuddy Composting toilet and yet to use it so what i have learnt here will be invaluable. Cheers
That was a great video and has a lot of really excellent info! I appreciate that you went into detail. Too many skirt around the nuts and bolts of what you need to know, so getting all this info straight was awesome. I recently bought a Cuddy (from Compo Closet) and have been using it for just a few days, so I’m still in the learning stage. I’m bloody loving it so far, and seeing how the Nature’s Head works has made me really happy for having my Cuddy which (if my guess is correct) was designed and made in response to some of the shortcomings of the Nature’s Head. I’ll be very interested to see how your Ogo compares!
Hey! Solid (sic) content about the real truth on using a composting toilet. We are educating the boating community on the eco benefits of converting to composting toilets for yachts and sailboats. The benefits are so so powerful. The cultural shift, however, remains the largest hurdle. How is your community adjusting to the usage and care? Thanks for your passion to share and your authentic style. Kudos.
Thanks! They’ve been very well received by most people in our community although there are some people who refuse to give it a go. Everyone we know who’s tried them love them 😁
Just discovered your channel. Brilliant video. Thank you for providing such a thorough review of the composting loo. Look forward to more of your videos. Not sure when this video was filmed love to hear your thoughts on the Ogo . Cheers
Thank you! You discovered us as we’ve taken a major step back from UA-cam. Most of our content is on Facebook these days. We filmed this towards the end of last year. We much prefer the OGO but both have their place 😁
Nailed the Ep & explanation, best I’ve seen. We have the natures head in our ZoneRV so much better than the cassette toilet and all the chemicals. Will never go back!!
Hands down the best explanation I've ever seen of the Natures Head. I do wish that the "spray when you go" cleaning part was touched on a little more. This is the part that I really wanted to see. Maybe when you review the Ogo you guys can add that bit! Thanks for the detailed info in this video, it was amazing to see real tips.
We've gone with an OGO for the exact reasons you mentioned. Yes takes some understanding, wish you did this vid 6 or so weeks ago. Re venting, if your through the floor and add a shell vent for the filter side be aware that condensation from the pipe will settle in the filter and prevent air flow leading to smelly backdraft... On a side note, hasnt Chris learnt to not leave things on tyres (blower)?
Hi Miriam and Chris, what sort of a bin do you use for the toilet paper? Do you use a liner in the bin? How often do you empty the bin? Does it get an odour? Thanking you in anticipation. Kerri👍
Great video guys. Thanks for covering a subject that most people squirm at. It was info we were definitely looking for in our caravanning research. We are new to the game and I know the cassette toilet is not for us! We cant wait to get out there full time in July.
I am a long way from a poop guru, but can you help me educate myself please. - When brushing, rinsing and tipping of the liquid of the poop tank should this be treated like a cassette toilet and be put in a dump point? - If not, what is the difference between these in that way? - How do you navigate doing number 1's and number 2's at the same time? Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for your review as we are newly Airstream Vintage owner and are looking at the Compost toilet. I have to say since watching your video I am a little worried, as you mentioned, about how women pee and poo at the same time and it at times the urine runs to the back. Anyhow, if just a little pee makes it into the poo part will that cause an issue? I have actually been practicing to keep it separate on my own toilet! Lol.
We have a Cuddy (Compo Closet) and it's great. Much easier to empty than the NH. Will never go back to cassette again. We get 3 weeks between empties. Pee bottle evey 2 days for the two of us.
Thanks Miriam and Chris - great video! Lots of good info and tips. We're two full timers using a Nature's Head for the last 3 years. When we started out the coir bricks were 9 litres. Now they're 15 litres. I was interested that you use the full 15 litre brick with 2.5 litres of water - which obviously works OK. I have (annoyingly) been trying to approximate 9 litres. I have also noticed the "stringyness" in the coir gets tangled in the mixer ends. Recently our compost became so heavy (after only one week) that the washer and surclip on the left end of the turner became dislodged and the turning arm popped out altogether. I suspected the stringy bits in the coir may be the problem. How do you deal with them? Do you remove them as much as you can? Do you think cutting them up a bit might help? And just one other question ... an American NH user video I've seen uses the broken up coir brick dry - no water at all added and he does not use any composting spray medium either. Makes me wonder ... what do you think?
There are so many variables that it’s hard to say! Trial and error is the best way lol. We had the OGO in our last van and are putting it in our new one. It’s smaller so different ratios again! 😅
Thanks so much for all the info, really helpful. Can I just double check about the toilet paper… you can’t put it down? You have to bag it? Or can you buy special paper that would work? Thanks again
got the same loo, works like a charm btw, that coir block you're using looks about double the size of the original?? and yes, dont lose the pee lid. cost me almost $10 to get a new one shipped out for my partner and I, the pee bucket lasts 48 hours or more, and yes no issues with periods, just hose out like usual
One of the most informative vids I’ve watched on the composting loo. Just picked up our new van last week and we to have the natures head installed, not used or set up yet, one question: you used a 15lt coir peat block to set it up, ours was supplied with only a 9lt block so I thought only 9lt block was needed, your thoughts please. does the 15lt fill up to the agitator when placed in the horizontal position. Thanks guys great vid
Awesome episode guys this was great, we are currently building our expedition truck and have put in a composite toilet and was very nervous if we had made the right choice. I think we have thanks so much for doing this.
Hi guy's great video. We have just installed oor Natures Head toilet. We have a questions if you don't mind. How long can you leave the contents in the composting compartment without turning or emptying. Cheers Tim and Meegs.
Not sure about that one! My parents have had their van 2 years and only emptied twice as they are weekenders. But they do go and churn it (while the van is parked in the shed) every now and then.
I do have a two part question. With regard to bagging it and putting it in a bin. Are you referring to normal garbage bins or proper council waste disposal bins? 2nd part, can you get bio-degradable garbage bags that can go into the council green bins?
👍great vid guys, and great demo too. Easily the best one we've seen. We are picking up our new van (after being on the road for 6 years in a 20 year old van!) in 11 days (not counting!) and have this exact dunny in it. Stoked with the vid, all the best in travels
Great informative vid kids, we are purchasing a natures head for our new van arrival. P.s first ad when you show us inside was a Cadbury ad haha cheers Art&Ali
Thanks for such a great demonstration. Has given us the comfort to have built into our new van. Just something that might work for the pee bottle. I used to run a cleaning company and we used a biological agent when cleaning urinals as it combated the odours naturally. Works way better than bleach. Can buy at most cleaning supply stores.
That's why i bought the Ogo toilet. Besides the fact that it had much smaller footprint, You don't have to remove the entire toilet to clean out the poop bucket, cause its seperate.
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown, that was a great video! You mentioned you would try the Ogo, and it sounds like you have one now. Which one will you recommend when you eventually make the video (I realize the videos take a lot of work!)
Hey Guys, some partially negative feedback from a "urine separating" toilet user. This is probably the best Natures Head how to video I have seen. BUT it does a disservice to people researching "urine separating" toilets, if I watched this it would put me off switching to "urine separating" which we all know is so good compared to the old cassette toilets. All compost toilets are "urine separating" toilets and there are cleaner and easier options out there. It takes me all of 5min to empty and reset my solids container, no mess, no fuss, no mixing compost medium. We have tried a number of toilets, and now use a Trelino Evo. The type that has a bag liner in the solids container. When it's time to empty just tie off, lift out and dispose off, and you're done. But the biggest bit of info I would like to point out, human solids takes 6-9 plus months to safely compost. You did mention if you're out in the bush, no need to bury the waste. I know the solids does not smell, and looks ok, BUT it is still unsafe human waste and after only 2-3 weeks nothing is composting. In reality no one os actually composting anything in urine separating toilets. I think manufacturers calling them "composting" gives people a false sense the waste if safe after a few weeks. Its not. Great channel and great entertaining / informative videos. But personally I think as good as this Natures Head video is, if someone doesn't realise there are easy simple cleaner urine separating toilets out there, this video would put them off buying one. After all who would want to go through the process you showed out on the lawn of a caravan park ? and I know people say, then just use the caravan park toilet, but then that defeats the luxury of having a toilet in your van.
Just a quick side note that Yates spray warning is "DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO GET INTO DRAINS, SEWERS, STREAMS OR PONDS." does this create an issue disposing or dumping of the toilet.
The 15 litre Bunnings blocks need to be cut in half as you only need a 9 litre block you can buy 9 litre blocks from garden stores we think it one of the best thing we added to our van and your right as we did a 3 week short trip we has not empty the toilet as it not full there is no smell in the van at all great blog guys usual you can just use a half and half mix of vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean the toilet
We found with the 9L block it didn’t cover the churned & when you poop it goes all over it. That’s why we use the 15L now and for us it’s been much better. 😁
I appreciate the insights on using compost toilets guys, but I wanted to share our experience with a different system in our RV. The problem with this type of toilet as mentioned in the video requires the entire assembly to be removed and hosed out, which can be a bit of a hassle-plus, who really wants to be carrying around human excrement for long periods? In our RV, we use a Sun-Mar compost toilet. There's no need to turn handles or levers, or wait for the poop to break down. The system uses bags that can be easily knotted and thrown straight into general public bins (just as the doggy bag) and it has the jug for liquids too. It’s much more convenient for those who value simplicity and quick maintenance while traveling. It might be worth considering for anyone looking for an easier option.
Great video, thank you for your information on the toilets we are about to buy a vision with a different compost toilet so is so great to hear your knowledge of dos and don'ts. Can I ask where you guys are it looks beautiful?
So informative seeing this part of the process. Seeing this as well as the other composting toilet requirements has convinced me to stick with the standard cassette. As always thanks for all your efforts putting these videos together.
We need to reiterate you don’t have to wash and clean it every time. Some people can go for a year or more without cleaning it. It’s personal preference but if you don’t wash it the good bacteria help speed up the process in the next batch 👍🏼
Do your self a favour research urine separating toilets like the Trelino Evo or Separett Tiny, Sun-Mar. They have bag liners in the solids container. No mess, no fuss. Takes me all of 4-5min to empty our solids, just tie off the bag, lift out and put in the bin. No cleaning, no washing etc.
Hi, great vid & super informative. As an occasional 4wd'er, need a toilet for some camping areas we plan to stay at (tent camping with missus & our 8yo girl). In your opinion, would you still recommend a compost over cassette toilet? Thanks, keep camping well. Cheers
Great vid thank you for taking the time to run through everything in such an entertaining way. We are in the process of choosing either cassette or an OGO in an Urban van being delivered over here to NZ. Just to clarify a comment below by another viewer in NZ - there is still some doubt as to whether composting toilets can be included in the new NZ self containment certification (so not quite illegal yet if at all ) The grey area seems to be the ability to remove the toilet completely which currently contradicts the ruling that to be self contained the pan has to be secured to the caravan or motorhome floor. I believe this was drafted as a rule to stop backpackers being able to store a porta potty under their bed to obtain a cert then going out and just crapping in the bushes anyhow. Gut feeling is that they will need to change the terminology to reflect the use of the composting technology. I really do hope so as i seriously want to add this but cant risk not getting the self containment cert as we want to be able to free camp so will tread water for a while before we decide. Thanks again - great watch.
Oh wow!! I get it but yes they definitely need to elaborate on the rules. It would be terrible if they aren’t allowed. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for you guys 🙌🏼
Wow, that was thorough and very informative. Thank you. Now, tell me...camper triler - are they suitable for a camper trailer? Got to lug out the chemical toilet, so what about one of these - can I lug it out and setup some pipe for the fan, have a base for it to sit on etc.? Does that sound feasible?
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Thanks. You guys having first hand experience, so I guessed something may jump out for you rendering it unusable in the camper trailer situation. I currently carry a pota potti, so it can replace the PP. I'll just need to look around and get one that will fit the existing space. Cheers, and thanks again.
Guys, the video is very good, but the amount of Coir is not what they have on the info sheet that came with the toilet. It says two-thirds of a Bunnings brick.
Thanks for this. We have a Nature's Head in our van as well. We are getting a compost smell where the vent exits the van and sometimes in the van. Not a No.2 smell but compost and sometimes we can smell it when sitting outside. Any ideas what we may be doing wrong or is this normal?

Hi guys, because of this complete video ive gone out and got one. Very informative, and delivered in an aussie way. Cheers
Thanks guys…hope you like it
Thank you for the very informative clip. We have learnt a lot today. We are new to natures head only had our new van for not quite 3 months.
You’re very welcome 😁 it definitely gets easier the more you use it 🙏🏼
We've gone with an OGO for the exact reasons you mentioned.
We can’t wait to try the OGO! 😁 And no, Chris is still leaving things on the tyres 😅
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown I think you'll like all but the extra emptying. Cannot teach old dogs new tricks sometimes!
Thanks for this vid. It did actually answer a lot of questions 🤙
You’re welcome! Happy to help 😁
Hi Miriam and Chris, what sort of a bin do you use for the toilet paper? Do you use a liner in the bin? How often do you empty the bin? Does it get an odour? Thanking you in anticipation. Kerri👍
It just goes in our normal slide out bin. We paper on its own and the poo paper goes in a doggy bag. We empty the bin regularly so it doesn’t smell ☺️
Great video guys. Thanks for covering a subject that most people squirm at. It was info we were definitely looking for in our caravanning research. We are new to the game and I know the cassette toilet is not for us! We cant wait to get out there full time in July.
Thank you! We have the OGO now and love that too! Both great toilets. Congrats on hitting the road. Might see you out there! 😁
Great demo thank you, just a question is there any horrible smell whilst you're emptying and cleaning the number 2 section?
Thanks! And no, if the consistency is right it just smells like compost 😁
Everything I needed to know. Except mine is portable. But still helpful. Thanks.
You’re welcome! 😁
Lol.
Haha!! Practice makes perfect 😆 Well - not really. But it makes it easier lol
You guys just sold me a toilet LOL cheers for the great vid, happy pooping.
Haha you’re welcome! We have the OGO in our new van and it’s even better! 😁
We have a Cuddy (Compo Closet) and it's great. Much easier to empty than the NH. Will never go back to cassette again. We get 3 weeks between empties. Pee bottle evey 2 days for the two of us.
Haven’t heard of that one!
I just recently learned about composting toilets. Wow genius. My question to you is what do you do with the paper. I didn't see it in the video.
We do mention it in the video - we put it in the rubbish bin in a doggy bag 😁
Such an attractive couple 🎉
Haha - thank you ☺️🙏🏼
Thanks Miriam and Chris - great video!
An obvious question but can you put biodegradable paper in the poo section 33:48 instead of placing in a seperate bag.
You can put normal paper in - we just choose not to 😁
We have one and absolutely love it! People are crazy for still going for a cassette. Great vid guys ❤
Haha we agree! 🤪😁🙏🏼
Thanks so much for all the info, really helpful. Can I just double check about the toilet paper… you can’t put it down? You have to bag it? Or can you buy special paper that would work? Thanks again
You can definitely put it in, Chris did for the first 16 months - it’s personal preference. It seems to last longer without it 😁
got the same loo, works like a charm
btw, that coir block you're using looks about double the size of the original??
and yes, dont lose the pee lid. cost me almost $10 to get a new one shipped out
for my partner and I, the pee bucket lasts 48 hours or more, and yes no issues with periods, just hose out like usual
They’re great hey! 😁
Thanks for vid. Where are you when you shot this please? Great looking place. 😊
This was Doolena Gorge in the Pilbara 😁
One of the most informative vids I’ve watched on the composting loo. Just picked up our new van last week and we to have the natures head installed, not used or set up yet, one question: you used a 15lt coir peat block to set it up, ours was supplied with only a 9lt block so I thought only 9lt block was needed, your thoughts please. does the 15lt fill up to the agitator when placed in the horizontal position. Thanks guys great vid
That’s why we use the 15. A smaller amount doesn’t cover the agitator in the horizontal position so the 💩 gets all over the agitator 👍🏼
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown ok, thanks for the heads up
Awesome episode guys this was great, we are currently building our expedition truck and have put in a composite toilet and was very nervous if we had made the right choice. I think we have thanks so much for doing this.
Oh you definitely have! It just takes some getting used to 😁
Hi guy's great video.
But they do go and churn it (while the van is parked in the shed) every now and then.
little bit of vinegar and a splash of eucalyptus oil in the pee bucket is a good solution to stop smells.👍
Yep it works great 👍🏼
Informative. But why would you bag up your compost?
To dispose of it
I do have a two part question.
With regard to bagging it and putting it in a bin. Are you referring to normal garbage bins or proper council waste disposal bins? 2nd part, can you get bio-degradable garbage bags that can go into the council green bins?
It can go into a normal bin and you could probably get bio-degradable bags - we just haven’t yet 😁
Great video. Although it is recommended to use 9 litre block. I done as you recommended with the 15 litres and it got to hard to churn
Oh - we did it this way for two years. The amount of water and what ends up in it all affects it as well
Hey guys, great video as usual.
How do you know when you need to change? Is it by volume ?
Thanks 🙏🏼….yeah generally by volume. It gets harder to mix as it fills up.
👍great vid guys, and great demo too. Easily the best one we've seen. We are picking up our new van (after being on the road for 6 years in a 20 year old van!) in 11 days (not counting!) and have this exact dunny in it. Stoked with the vid, all the best in travels
Congrats on your new van!!!!! 😁🙌🏼
Funny as it sounds, I loved this video. Can you drop the dunny paper into the toilet? It is only paper. But I don't want to presume. TIA Cheers.
Thank you! 🙏🏼 You can, but we don’t. It lasts longer if you don’t. 😁
Love our natures head would never go back to a cassette toilet. Look forward to see what you think of the OGO when you get it.
Agree!! We can’t wait to try the OGO 😁
Great informative vid kids, we are purchasing a natures head for our new van arrival. P.s first ad when you show us inside was a Cadbury ad haha cheers Art&Ali
Haha! That’s gold! 🍫😂
I was freaking out as you're touching that. It looks like it's got poop particles all over it! Lol
😂😂
Great video guys! One question I have, how do you think it goes with young kids? E.g. 4yo girl.
We know a family with 4 young girls (1, 3, 5 & 6 i think) who traveled with one and loved it! But I guess it depends on the kids really.
Thank you!! We will have a look 🙏🏼🙏🏼
That's why i bought the Ogo toilet. Besides the fact that it had much smaller footprint, You don't have to remove the entire toilet to clean out the poop bucket, cause its seperate.
We have that in our new van
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown, that was a great video! You mentioned you would try the Ogo, and it sounds like you have one now. Which one will you recommend when you eventually make the video (I realize the videos take a lot of work!)
Have you got the ogo now? If so, do you like it?
We had the OGO in the last van that we sold a few months ago and are putting it in our new one 😁
Thank you
You’re welcome 😁
Great vid lets ya know what your in for but because I’m lazy gonna go with a Dometic w/black tank and pay them to dump it
✌🏼
Great video I needed to see thankyou
Glad I could help
do these work for weekend and long weekend trip or is it not long enough for the compost to break down the poop
Yep! My parents are weekenders and have only dumped theirs about 3 times in two years - just give it a churn every now and then 👍🏼
Hey Guys, some partially negative feedback from a "urine separating" toilet user.
👍🏼
Hey guys
For me that was a awesome demo thanks shitloads of info
You’re more than welcome 🙏🏼
Just a quick side note that Yates spray warning is "DO NOT ALLOW PRODUCT TO GET INTO DRAINS, SEWERS, STREAMS OR PONDS." does this create an issue disposing or dumping of the toilet.
Lucky we don’t dump it in those places 😁👍🏼
I use diametrous earth. It is natural and flies etc don't like it.
Where do you get the coconut husks stuff?
Bunnings 😁
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown what?
Fantastic informative video. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great run through thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Hi to you both
Just wondering if you are going to do a review on the new Ogo toilet in the new van yet 🤔?
We will 😁
@@AussieDestinationsUnknownlook forward to it thanks 😊
We’ve had the OGO for almost 12 months now and will be putting it in our next van too. We much prefer it 😁
Great video, thank you for your information on the toilets we are about to buy a vision with a different compost toilet so is so great to hear your knowledge of dos and don'ts. Can I ask where you guys are it looks beautiful?
Awesome! Glad you liked it. Yeah we are trying the OGO next.
Haha it ks an amazing location. It’s called Doolena Gorge in the Pilbara WA
Cheers
We would! They’re just so easy 😁
Is there a lid for opening before using the pee bucket or is it open all the time?
There are holes
I have an Avan and I was wondering just how power it would use on days of minimal or low sunlight
That depends on so many factors! Check out the videos in our Enerdrive playlist - they’re all about power systems. 👍🏼
Good Day 😊 Thanks for sharing all the 💩 poo from the loo 🤣🤣 Awesome tips and advice 👍🏼 Greetings Mates and Cheers 🍻 From South Africa 🇿🇦
Haha thanks 🙏🏼
Great vid guys thanks! My question is can you put paper in the poo compartment or not? My wife will find it weird to bag it cheers Richard
Yes, we did answer that in the video. Chris used to do it for ages but it lasts longer if you don’t as it doesn’t fill up as quickly 😁
Umm I don’t see why not. It would take up a bit of room though?
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Thanks. You guys having first hand experience, so I guessed something may jump out for you rendering it unusable in the camper trailer situation. I currently carry a pota potti, so it can replace the PP. I'll just need to look around and get one that will fit the existing space. Cheers, and thanks again.
Guys, the video is very good, but the amount of Coir is not what they have on the info sheet that came with the toilet. It says two-thirds of a Bunnings brick.
It’s what worked for us 👍🏼
Thanks for this. We have a Nature's Head in our van as well. We are getting a compost smell where the vent exits the van and sometimes in the van. Not a No.2 smell but compost and sometimes we can smell it when sitting outside. Any ideas what we may be doing wrong or is this normal?
It’s normal to have a slight compost smell. But anything strong could mean your mixture is too wet. ☺️
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown Thanks. Also looked like you are using the full 15 litre brick from Bunnings?
