I love 💕😘💕 my China Country....... greetings from North East India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳..............Hi...I belong to Rongmei Tribes.... from northeast India 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
.... my fore father from China..... The history of the Rongmei migration down the ages has not been handed down in written record or as a book. So this research work of mine is the product of sources orally handed down through the generations by the fore fathers who are well versed on the migration history. Though minute details of every generation could not be given, they all pointed out that the Rongmeis, as a whole, migrated from a place called Mahow (Minhow) Tauhbhei. But to a great surprised, the Rongmei tribe took shelter in the name of a small tribe called Kabui (Mpuimei). The Rongmei dialectis the Rongmei Identity.
Mahow was also known as Minhow. According to the history of the Pheiga Gangmei clan, the Shawl of Mahow Taubhei was hidden under a flat stone called Tauhkhuan (Pile of stones) at Simbanglong(Longmei) by Lungchakuigui during the ethinic clashes. However, the shawl deteriorated as time went by and was turned into soil. Till today, at every Gan-Ngai festival, they cut the throat of a red cock chanting Swanglum and worshipped the shawl of Mahow (Minhow) Taubhei. In 725 A.D. during the Tang Dynasty Mahow (Minhow) was renamed as Fuzhou. At that time Fuzhou was the capital of Fujian. In 308 A.D. the gentiles in large group migrated to Mahow. Also in 892 A.D. after the decline of the Tang Dynasty, the gentiles migrated to Mahow /Minhow (Fuzhou/Foochow) again from the north. Therefore, we assume that when our fore fathers speak of or migration from the north, it was the migration of 892 A.D. at Mahow. So when they ¨sayliang ram¨ (north) they mean to say the north of Mahow (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Consequently, Rongmeis are the late migrants of 892 A.D. at Mahow. There they lived in a stone cave (Tauhbhei/Khukbang/Taulhang) at Mahow, which was situated between South China Sea and East China Sea.
So the Rongmeis from Mahow migrated to North-East India and settled there. Some of the many reasons why the Rongmeis migrated from Mahow is due to frequent attacks from neighbouring kingdoms and cyclonic storms. It is said that there was a hundred varieties of best quality shawls at Mahow. In order to own these shawls the neighbouring kingdoms frequently attacked Mahow Tauhbhei. Mahow Tauhbhei is a Rongmei word. Mahow/Minhow= name of a place, Tauh = stone, Bhei = a temporary hut.
There were also frequent cyclonic storm at Mahow which we come to know from one of the folk songs:
    We will be dancing,
The male youth of big club,
    Pounding bamboo likes thundering,
Like the cyclonic storm of Mahow,
Behold the wondrous splendor of our club,
    Never ceasing to dance.
(Siang puni san the Thiandai gan nah tho re Ahaan ramh siang tingthin tu kum Mahow tho puanzingh kanuai chui kum Guang zau lo athianmei kin rui gai eHaan siang taan lak ge.)
The migrants from Mahow to North-East India are known as Tatnimei=wanting to go/exodus and Rongmei dialect was first spoken in China. The exact year of Rongmei migration could not be ascertain but we assume that the migration was from China in 221 B.C during the reign of Qin Shihuangdi. The Great Wall of China by Jet wings June 2003 Vol-3 issue 6, The Rongmei migration in a large scale was perhaps started during the reign of Qin Shihuangdi 221 B.C.
Construction of Great Wall began during his reign. The Great Wall is 4500 miles long, average height is 30 ft., at every interval of 600 ft there is a tower of 40 ft height and top width is 32 ft. It took a succession of 1000 years of Chinese Dynasties to complete the Great Wall. It was meant to protect the country from marauding Northern tribes. So the small tribes like the Naga were enforced labors for the construction of the Great wall. In order to avoid the hard labour throughout their lives, the small tribes like the Mahow tauhbhei (Minhow tauhbhei) near the South China sea without informing the guards of the Great wall or the king. Then they hide in the cave (Tauhbhei) of Mahow (Minhow). Migration from Mahou Tauhbhei to Chiangmai Province (in Thailand) is through the costal of China Sea. Some of the migrants settled at the island of Sulawasi in Borneo. From Chiangmai they migrated to Shan state; Shan state to Sagaing Division; Sagaing Division to Kachin state and from Kachin state to the hilly ranges of Changlang District and Tairap District (Arunachal) in the North-East India. But the Rongmei came to India through Nampuk Valley, Namyung Valley and Namphalong of Sagaing Division in Mayanmar. However, some of the Rongmei migrants settled in Mayanmar.
