I’ve heard people say because it used much fewer polygons. Since this was still early PS1, there was still limited memory and capabilities at the time.
Quite a few of these the themes in this game were still hard to find back in Summer of '99. I used to spend hours trying to find websites with .wav and .mp3 files back then, the internet was still largely cluttered with midi files on geocities and homestead websites even by '99. WWF Warzone and WWF attitude definitely were ahead of their time in graphic department. The biggest issues with the video games where the controls they made them way too complex especially to perform a finishing move. Which was always there Achilles’ heel. When THQ took over 1999 and did “wrestlemania 2000” later that year 1999. The graphics were not as good Comparing 3-D models to crash dummies but they made Controls where easier and made performing a finishing move easy which is what gamers wanted at the time. Acclaim Sport really should’ve adjusted their controls they probably would’ve still kept there license had they done that. But THQ really hit the bar once they took over with those titantron’s.
I actually loved this game for how you had to learn the controls to perform a move, compared to the Smackdown games which were really 'dumbed down' with one button to perform a move, which made it feel like a more 'pick up and play' type of game (and I see they're still basically making the same game these days too). I suppose it's like how some people prefer to play a game on easy mode for the fun but others on hard mode though since it's more of a challenge
Acclaim had already lost the WWF license before Attitude even came out. WrestleMania 2000 was already pretty deep in development before Attitude even hit store shelves, they only came out a few months apart
I remember you could change the attire of wrestlers by holding L1, L2, R1, or R2 at the character select screen. You had to hold one of them buttons down while you selected the superstar and it would change the attire. I remember I had a 4 man battle royal with Mick Foley and the 3 faces of Foley lol. Also with The Undertaker with gray gloves, purple gloves, and black attire, and black attire with the long goatee lol
I spent so many freakin' hours with this game on my N64 back in the day. And i did not have the memory pak so i always had to either leave the game on, or create my character again every time. Good times.

Many corners were cut. Probably because of the roster size? I dunno
