The first time I ever heard Leonard Cohen sing this song it absolutely blew me away, such a dark and majestic piece. Janileigh Cohen's rendition is every bit as moving, so subtle and deep at the same time.
I can't believe I almost ignored this link (so many poor cover versions on UA-cam). What a treat! This is by far my favorite L. Cohen song, so I'm going to be more critical of your performance, unfortunately. This song affects me in so many different ways, it's actually kind of strange. Anyway, I was blown away by your interpretation of this song. You didn't try anything silly like I often hear in UA-camr's cover songs...you played it like L. Cohen was sitting in front of you. You gave the song the respect that it deserved. For that, I will be seeking out the remainder of your work. Also, I hope you have a wonderful, successful career in music. Success doesn't mean millions of dollars, but I think you already know that and I'll end now before I embarrass myself any further. Good luck to you!!
