My parents are giving tours. They are serving a mission there
That is so awesome that I have that part of our history.
I'm so grateful that we get to go in there
You were allowed to go in there before. Community of Christ, like most churches, doesn't require 10% annual membership fee to enter their buildings.
@@uthinkiamhot Weird, Community of Christ charged me $100 to tour the Kirtland temple.
@deerjerkydave is that 10% of your annual income, and part of the worthiness interview?
You know the difference between allowed and free, right?
I had been planning to go there for the eclipse, but changed my mind, partly because it might be cloudy. I think, however, that God might smile down on Kirtland and let the total eclipse be seen. :)
Gracias por su información,es también nuestro legado!.. Patagonia norte de Argentina 🇦🇷
So grateful to be a member of the Lord's church!
For like 20 bucks, you can be a lord too. Having your own church is optional I guess.
@@iWillProbablyDieOnTwoWheels The Church of The Lords of Acid is pretty good I heard.
So you're Catholic?
Amen jonmayas9779. Don’t listen to the people that Mock God or His Church. I’m a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and in answer to some very humble prayers and study, God confirmed to me that this truly is His Church, that he restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, to bring His true gospel to all of His sons and daughters on the earth, that are ready to hear the truth. Stay strong brothers and sisters in Christ. God will always be there to support you through all the good times and your trials.😌🙏
How can you tell that it's the lord's? Doesn't God already own everything on earth? Aren't they all His churches?
Thanks for reporting!
I want to come to Ohio Kirkland for this
Sad day for us in the Community of Christ
I don’t think so. The Community of Christ have taken great care of this beautiful historic site. They entrusted it to a church that will also care for it. They will still have access to it. And they got a much needed influx of cash.
We are so grateful for all the care that has been given to this building and to our relationship. ❤
@@joegroft5944 right. for the most part I would hope that those who go into the temple this week and had go to it weeks before, might not even know any difference at all.
The loss of these properties has caused a huge faith crisis for many members of their church. They feel like they have betrayed Emma to the Brighamites. As excited as I am, my heart can't help but break for them as well.
I understand why it is sad, but on the bright side, the church won’t charge money for people to come tour it.
Sara Murphy has a commanding presence. Confident. Articulate. Nice reporting.
When is the one in Missouri going to open
If you have no faith you wouldn't convert even if you saw it all!
That’s simply not true. That saying was created to stop people from looking behind the curtain to see what’s really going on.
Church history makes more sense when Joseph is the bad guy. Everything clicks into place and it’s why Joseph was forced from place to place when other sects from his time weren’t.
Nice!!
no more coffee and donuts at the end of the tour.
Donuts will remain. Sugar is a Mormon staple.
Hey, how about Hot Chocolate and donuts??
But you won’t have to pay 💰 Christ is casting our the moneychangers so now it is free to visit.
Instead you'll get 19 year old ladies asking for your phone number and address to send 18 year old elders with a free book.
@@zionmama150the Kirtland temple opened today on the exact day Christ cast out the money changers. Coincidence I think not
🎉
The Church’s patience has paid off. So cool!
well, that and a nearly $200m payoff
Yes, they paid money for it. It wasn’t given to them. I thought that was obvious. I guess not.
Not only that, but the Lord cast out the moneychangers on the day after palm sunday. Miracle of miracles. See D&C 117:16
Patience? Ya'll have been belly aching about this temple since Brigham took Joe's harem to Utah and Emma stayed behind. Patience my @$$
By patience you mean that your church didn't send an armed militia to aquire the property?
The missionaries need to learn all about Freemasonry to grasp the inner theology of the Kirtland and the Nauvoo temple.
D&C 117:16. Not only did the Lord cast out the Moneychangers, but he did it on the Monday following palm sunday, just like in the Bible. This is a sign.
No, It’s not a sign. This just shows we overpay in tithing.
@@AJ-ib4oyHow is this an indication that “we over pay in tithing”?
@AJ-ib4cy. Is not tithing 10% of your income? How comes now we are paying more?
That's pretty funny. Imagine if those money changers had Billions and Billions like the Mormon Church does. 🤣
@@MrRbrim God doesn’t forbid making money. “Money changers” that are mentioned in the Bible, were people that were manipulating currency, on the steps of His temple. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has never, and will never do anything like this. But those who are hell bent against the Church will always try to find ways to make it “look” like the Church is wrong.
So exciting that Brigham Young’s church bought property from Joseph Smith’s church. Joseph Smith’s descendants must be so pleased to see his church pawning off assets to keep the lights on.
I think I have been so caught up in the Joy this has brought members of the church that I had been ignorant of the pain our brothers and sisters must feel in CoC. Know that we will take care of this place as you did, we will be good stewards.
Relax. Brigham's followers will likely leave the property unchanged and as a historical site rather than a functional temple, since there's no way to make it ADA accessible if they attempted to.
@@Mcfunface oh, I am relaxed. I’m laughing about it. And I’m laughing about the fact that Brighamite splinter Mormonism, with its $100B hedge fund and investments in luxury shopping malls, claims to be the one true church of Jesus, who championed eschewing of material things. Keep making your deposits to that hedge fund! Lol
@@ChaChaDancin…In all due respect, how would you expect God’s true Church to fund the expansion of His Church around the globe, to reach “Every Kindred, Tongue and People.” …As prophesied? …Wouldn’t you imagine that if this is Gods true Church, which it is, that He would make sure that His gospel efforts would be well funded, so that His work will not be cut short due to a lack of sufficient funding? …If you believe that His world wide gospel efforts, along with all of the other wonderful things that come from it, could take place without significant funding, then you may want to rethink that my friend.
@@jakeclayson7647 mormonism, American colonialism as a religion. Shameful.
Extra alter boys?
Community of christ must have needed money vary badly
In contrast to the LDS Church, they pay retirement funds for their employees. Among others, they needed the money for these funds.
Joseph Smith was just a madman
I need to see the real gold plates along with the hat and magic rock in action before I convert.
It is a wicked and adulterous generation that seeks a sign.
That said, read the Book of Mormon, pray SINCERELY for a witness of its truth through the Holy Ghost, and remember you CAN'T pray to know it's false because the Holy Ghost CANNOT lie.
Remember also Doubting Thomas's rebuke from the Savior in the New Testament.
Best of luck to you in wherever your Faith journey takes you. 🥰
@@diannaanderson You are wicked and adulterous if you ask for evidence?
Religion is cancer.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@diannaandersonit’s wicked to seek a sign, so pray about the Book of Mormon to… get a sign? Lol
There’s a scripture about this: D&C 5:7. If you believe that you would have to see the real gold plates, hat, rock, etc. to convert, that is 100% not true, because even if you did see those things you still wouldn’t believe
About time the Community in Christ give the Temple up they no longer believe in it anyway!
The church who claims GOD IS A MAN and is one god among countless gods, has a new temple to play inside!!!
Do not become one of the crowd who protests in Matt 7:21-23 when Christ does not KNOW WHO YOU ARE.
I need to get outta this state, this is news lol
Sayonara
The cult is strong in Utah
The State of Utah (the lds church) purchasing real-estate in ohio is news indeed. (Ohio, not Missouri, which exodus was I thinking of)
Momos so arrogant to refer to themselves as The Church when discussing a business deal between two churches. Elitism to the core.
1:40 momos are known for their historical accuracy when telling their history. They are so glad that the Community of Christ is no longer stewards of their shared mormon history.
