This is a walk down the trail by my camp. Just $10 per night. Tarp over my tent to keep the 24 hour daylight out somewhat, not for the rain.... lol! www.paypal.me/...
I am a physician, indoors all day,i go on, your videos to travel with you. You take joy in the beautiful simplicity of life, you are a really good person,
I think most of us who follow you feel the same in that we're not the average folk. We share the life of living how we want to, alone, rather than adhering to society's expectations. It's a life that is truly authentic.
Your gift for gab is what drew me to your videos years ago. I was originally drawn in to hobo videos by Stobe. Sadly, I became a fan of his only months before he his death. UA-cam put you in as a recommendation for watching his, and have been watching ever since. Life has dealt us different hands, but your adventures allow me to see parts of the world that I never will. Stay safe, and thanks for bringing me along through your videos.
Jeff Hendrickson I hear ya, Jeff. Same for me. I had only been watching Stobe’s videos for a few months when I got a video feed talking about him passing. Sad. Now I’m strung out on Shoestring...! He’s a good dude. Enjoy hearing him talk about his exploits and adventures. Take Care. Cheers! Whipple
We love you shoestring and all your videos you are unique and the nicest person I ever knew keep up the good work and please be safe. You are #1 always and forever in our hearts. My biggest dream is to meet you in person but you tube going to have to do for now!!!
You can talk as much as you please about as anything you want. I really enjoy it. I have always wondered, if you could compile every tried and true Hobo survival skill into one book, what it might look like. I'd buy that book. 💜
I relate so much. I never went a full year at one school either. I would come home from school and mom would have the whole house packed and we were moving again. Like you I was always the "new kid". It has hurt me a lot in life too... I certainly understand brother..
Shoestring, I really enjoy your stories and the places you travel.... I have to say you have led an interesting life and you have been places that most of us have never been to. Please keep sharing your videos with us ! Thanks again and be safe out there !
This roses are beautiful 🌼. I never knew you could eat rose hips. We have lots in our garden. I'll look into them. You don't only get entertained here, you get education too 😁. Love your videos. I found them after watching Stone. So glad I did.
Hey Shoestring, loving your trip to Alaska video's. We were due to visit in September from the United Kingdom but had to cancel due to Covid-19. Re-booking for next year. Love your work, keep em video's and stories coming!
Your videos in the past couple weeks have been phenomenal. If your apartment depresses you just keep the travel videos going, you're really living the life! The daily videos are such a treat. Great trail walk at the end, Alaska is awesome.
It looks like there are enough people in the campground to keep the bears away. "I hope." So happy to see all is well in the neighborhood. Thanks for showing us the wild roses, we had similar roses in SE Texas. Here in the desert we have no roses at all ... but we have wide open places and that works for me. Waiting on the update about your eye exam. Fingers crossed they can help. Protection prayers sent to you. Much love.
Hey mark you got a friend I been watching your videos and enjoy watching and seeing all the places you traveled on the trains and listening to your stories keep on doing what you are doing, your followers behind you all the way. Your friend Duane , / Visalia,ca
Thanks for the awesome video's from your Alaska trip. I've been enjoying the beauty..... also your knowledge of so many things! Your humor is great too! I'm here in Hernando Ms, a suburb of Memphis actually.....Enjoy yourself! Thanks KH
Really enjoy your videos, Shoestring. I'm in the UK and they're helping me get through lockdown here. When I watch them I feel almost free, like I'm going to a different place, instead of just being stuck inside my house. Wishing you all the best and stay safe!
If and/or when you get that (those) cataract(s) attended to, you'll be astounded at how much clearer and sharper your vision becomes. And blues become bluer again. For a travelin' man, it's a revelation.
This time last year I was in the same exact parts of Alaska you are now, thank you so much for these as I wish I could be back there right now. Also thoroughly enjoy listening to your knowledge and stories.
Hey brother you have alot of knowledge and I enjoy hearing your knowledge you're very smart keep doing what you're doing Love it brother be safe.,,, 🇺🇸🇺🇸 GOD BLESS YOU!!
Shit shoestrings your living my dream. Seeing your stories makes me believe in the possibility of doing something similar. I appreciate your knowledge and stories and hope there's more people like yourself doing the same l. Say safe and keep on keeping on good sir
I love your videos, but they are only 20% of the reason why I never miss out on one. There are loads and loads of videos with great natural scenery, even quite a few with riding trains. What make yours stand out is your stories and your take on things. So don't worry and let your monologue flow freely, because that's the 80%, to me at least. Stay safe Sir.
@@TheHoboShoestring You are most welcome, I mean it. You take my through the whole register of feelings from really sad to highly amused. Mostly the latter though 😎 Best wishes for now and for the future.
Shoestring you're a good person who attracts good people, you have been places most of us have not. We live thru your expeditions around the states. Your knowledge about trains are vast , I watch because you're just a likeable person, Genuine Google people who care about your surroundings. Be careful and don't let them bear sneak up on you stay safe.
Hobo Shoestring your the best. My cousins moved around a lot too. That has to be extra tough on a kid. Your full of so much cool info and your adventures bring me to places I’ll never be I look forward to your videos. Stay well. The bears scare me
Good luck with the eye exam, Shoestring. Hope it gives you the answers you're looking for. Wish I could host you in Australia some time so you could experience what we have to show in the Land Down Under.
shoestring, since you mentioned you were moving back to alaska, i had to watch some of your old videos, cant wait untill you post some new ones, after watching these vids, i want to go up there and camp out for 2 weeks.
thats a place I always wanted to go, made it as far as jasper 20 years ago an nearly stayed. Wish to God I had done now. All the best to you from Argyll, Scotland.
7:08 "watch i dont see someone sitting over there having a good time" points at a shadowy figure right after getting a weird vibe and remembering you didnt have your bear spray. I find this very interesting. Hope you're well Shoestring.
Man do i look forward to your videos, always a good view. I'm a talking machine myself as well, always pissed people off haha keep on keeping on brother... Stay safe
What a beautiful place.. never heard of it before! In AK, your should have that bear spray with you all the time, ... better to have it in a holster and never need it, than have it back in camp and need it.
I can’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to listen to you Mark. You’re a very intelligent guy. And the stories are great. Thanks for sharing. Please keep us going!
that little tent will do just fine the way you have a tarp covering it. got one a lot like it, different brand but made exactly the same. it never didnt leak, new out of the box it leaked when it rained. but a small tarp fixes that. they make a spray for leaking tents too but I dont think it lasts through many rains.
Shoestring, you'd get along good with my dad and I, we are talkers also; and we also bounce subject to subject. In a minutes time we can move through several subjects. But, we too isolated ourselves away from most because of how people can be. Yes, sometimes the devices can glitch causing audio/video synchronization issues but it is more likely to be an upload issue, from what I know.
Well thanks for today's learning lessons. I love listening to your stories. You have such a wide range of knowledge. I'm winding how you have any hearing left after all the train riding. Just the other day I sat at a RR crossing while they passed at about 50 MPH, wow was that loud. Do you think that by any chance the rail dust could have affected your vision. Just a thought. Looking forward to the next lesson. Thank you my new found friend.
Spot on with McKinley 20,310...and I bet one of the toughest to climb....huge..the thing with your eyes Mr shoestring could because of dyspraxia or alike and coloured lenses suddenly make you see it's amazing how it works...having the cataracts removed will help massively...in UK there called tea roses or look very similar...as for yourself Mr shoestring we've never had a bad luck story just grt stuff but if ever you want to let go then go for it because us fans love ya Man....
So I have a small 12 unit motel, yep your like 1 in 500, some people talk and talk, others won't talk at all, just go to there room and come out the next morning. I have one friend who comes over and 2.5 hours later I have to say I got a zoom call I have to be on, and he always says yea I have to go to, I am suppose to be cleaning or finishing his house for his wife to come back from Moldova. He is lonesome as a rat, we usually talk every other week, my wife just says hello and keeps on walking by, but if a person listens you can learn a lot. Its pretty cool, keep on being you, I enjoy it
Shoestring , you'll always be the legend to me . Ride on man ! Ride on !❤❤🤗

No matter how educated you think you are.... This man can teach us all much about living life.
"Even though its cold, its still warm" hobo wisdom
He's right... the Gulf Stream is the same way... much warmer than the ambient air temperature would be in northern climes...
Good luck with the eye exam, Shoestring. Hope it gives you the answers you're looking for. Wish I could host you in Australia some time so you could experience what we have to show in the Land Down Under.
